This guide provides strategies to overcome challenges, from miniboss encounters to the final boss showdown with Kertaki. Prepare to dominate the Island of Terror with tactics that maximize efficiency and survival.
First Miniboss- The Frenzied Reptilian Executioner
As we delve deeper into the "Island of Terror", our journey begins with an initial strategy that sets the stage for confronting the first miniboss. At the outset, a coordinated approach is crucial. It is recommended to direct your focus towards the right side of the map, a strategic choice that allows for optimal resource gathering and positioning. Here, the tank plays a pivotal role, spearheading the offensive by engaging and pulling all nearby mobs.
Once the mobs are engaged, the next objective involves the brazier, an interactive element that requires the synchronized effort of your party members. Up to three players can channel the brazier simultaneously, which is essential for progressing to the next stage.
Following the successful engagement with the brazier, your focus should shift to the path leading to the first miniboss encounter. This miniboss, reminiscent of a Tyrant in its mechanics, demands a tactical approach for a swift defeat. The key strategy involves concentrating your damage output (DPS) on the miniboss, ensuring that all available resources and abilities are utilized to maximize efficiency.
A unique challenge presented by this miniboss is its ability to enter a stealth mode, temporarily evading direct attacks. To counteract this, players must interact with a nearby flower, an environmental feature that reveals the miniboss and allows the continuation of the assault.
Upon the miniboss's defeat, strategic regrouping is advised. The tank may choose to reset or respawn, a decision that depends on the current state of the party and the resources available.
Second Miniboss- The Frenzied Reptilian Gladiator
This area includes two formidable lizards situated next to a merchant. By eliminating these lizards, players can effectively neutralize potential threats that might otherwise complicate the impending battle with the second miniboss. This proactive measure ensures that the party can focus on the miniboss encounter without the risk of additional adversaries being drawn into the fray.
Once this task is accomplished, the path to the second miniboss becomes clearer. This encounter, much like its predecessor, demands a coordinated and tactical approach. The second miniboss is a test of both endurance and skill, requiring players to draw upon their accumulated knowledge and resources. The decision to engage or bypass certain enemy packs is critical, as it can drastically alter the dynamics of the miniboss fight. Choosing to eliminate nearby threats before engaging the miniboss can prevent inadvertent aggro, which could otherwise disrupt the battle and lead to unfavorable outcomes. This calculated approach ensures that the party can focus their efforts solely on the miniboss, maximizing their chances of success.
Final Boss of Island of Terror- Kertaki
-
Tank Stun
Kertaki will fire four fireballs at the tank, then stun them. Following the stun, it will perform a heavy strike that deals tons of damage if not mitigated. Allies should use cleansing abilities on the tank to break the stun, allowing them to block the heavy strike.
-
Fury Attacks
The fury attacks are characterized by their relentless nature, often manifesting as diamond-shaped patterns that require players to execute dodge rolls with precision. Utilizing the direction key in conjunction with a 'Q' block is essential to evade these rapid assaults effectively. The boss's fury is directed primarily at the tank, who must be adequately geared and prepared to withstand these onslaughts. The fury attacks are launched following a specific sequence wherein the boss raises its staff, signaling the release of three consecutive fireballs aimed at the tank. The third fireball possesses a stunning effect, necessitating the intervention of a bow user equipped with the purifying touch to mitigate its impact.
Should the tank be pushed back by the fireballs, it is imperative to regain position swiftly to prevent further fury attacks. Failure to do so could result in substantial health depletion and disruption of the team's strategy. The tank's ability to maintain proximity to the boss is crucial in neutralizing these attacks and ensuring the team's stability.
After the fireball phase, several small lizards will appear. These are additional monsters that will scurry around and attack players. To quickly deal with them, it is recommended that the team gathers around the boss (the lizards will follow) and uses AOE attacks to eliminate them all at once.
-
Geysers
After the juvenile lizards appear, the boss will perform two heavy strikes, both of which should be dodged using moving blocks. If the heavy strikes hit you, they will apply a severe movement speed debuff, making the next phase much harder. After the second heavy strike, the geyser phase begins. During the fireball phase, you should have cleared the mist around the geysers, so you can now use them. The boss will unleash a massive ground slam, emitting a purple shockwave that instantly kills any player on the ground. The only way to avoid this is to enter a bubbling geyser, which will launch you into the air and allow you to dodge the shockwave.
Below 50% HP: The boss will consecutively perform two geyser attacks. After dodging the first attack, you must quickly locate the second bubbling geyser.
-
Meteor Phase
Following the these attacks, the boss introduces the meteor avoidance challenge, a phase that tests both individual agility and team coordination. The meteors, reminiscent of those encountered in the 'Tyrant' challenge, target three random players, demanding immediate evasive maneuvers. The key to surviving this phase lies in avoiding direct meteor hits by remaining in constant motion. Moreover, players are advised to stay close to the nearest geyser, which offers a strategic vantage point to anticipate and dodge incoming meteors effectively. Once the meteors land, a blue flame spreads across the floor and smoke fills the arena.
-
Whack-a-Mole Phase
Central to this stage is the boss's ability to create a formidable ring around itself. It turns all players into rats and randomly selects one player as its prey. As players, our immediate task is to remain inside this circle. This positioning is crucial to avoiding the damaging effects of the circling balls that threaten to inflict fear and significant harm upon contact. The tactic here is to stay close to the boss, minimizing the risk of being pushed back into the ring's perimeter where danger looms. The boss's behavior becomes predictable as it seeks out the player to consume. Timing and reflexes are tested as players must anticipate this movement. When the boss get close to the target, players must execute a timely 'dig' maneuver by pressing '1' to dodge the impending threat.
