• Diluc Gameplay

Diluc’s gameplay revolves around dealing sustained Pyro damage through his Normal Attacks, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst. His Normal Attack chain consists of four hits with solid multipliers, and his Elemental Skill allows him to perform up to three consecutive forward slashes. By using this Skill immediately after performing two Normal attacks, you are able to cancel the normal attack animation, leading to more damage over time. 

Diluc’s Elemental Burst summons a phoenix that travels forward, dealing large AoE Pyro damage. It can launch smaller enemies and hit them multiple times during its travel, though bosses and heavier enemies will only be struck about two to three times due to their resistance to knockback. More importantly, casting his Burst grants Diluc a Pyro infusion, allowing his Normal Attacks to deal Pyro damage for a duration—one of the core aspects of maximizing his overall DPS.

No matter which team, his Talent Priority stays pretty much the same.

Normal Attack - Tempered Sword

Diluc Best Artifacts & Stats

When it comes to artifacts, Crimson Witch of Flames (4-piece) is widely regarded as Diluc’s best set for regular main dps builds, as it buffs his Pyro damage as well as his Pyro reactions. However, when played with Furina, Diluc is able to fully utilize Marechaussee Hunter (4-piece), which essentially gives him +36% Crit Rate extra, making artifact building more flexible. In Plunge teams however, you can go with the rather new Long Night’s Oath (4-piece), which heavily buffs your Plunge attacks. Overall, you can be quite flexible with his Artifact set, as long as you pay attention to the stats

Diluc Best Team Compositions

Diluc's damage revolves around triggering Vape or Melt reactions, rather than focusing on his raw Pyro damage. Thus, you will always see him with some Cryo or Hydro character.

1. Diluc Vape Teams

In a regular Vape team, Diluc is able to use the applied hydro aura to increase his damage by a decent amount. You will often see him paired with other support characters, which buff him and the whole team.

Notes:

• Your Vape teams will consist of Diluc, who is your main damage dealer
• Hydro Sub dps/support (Xingqiu, Furina, Yelan), who applies Hydro for Diluc to vape and additionally buffs Diluc or deals DMG themself
• Support who can shred resistance (Xilonen, Kazuha, Sucrose) to increase Diluc’s damage even more
• ATK support for Diluc (almost always Bennett) 

2. Diluc Melt Teams

Melt teams are similar to Vape teams, the difference being that you want to have a Cryo character instead of a Hydro character this time around. While his Melt playstyle does deal more damage than the Vape playstyle, applying Cryo is often times harder than applying Hydro. 

Notes:

• Your Melt teams will consist of Diluc,
• A Cryo Sub dps/support (Diona, Citlali, Rosaria, Kaeya, Charlotte), enabling Diluc to melt
• Support who can shred resistance (Xilonen, Kazuha, Sucrose) OR another Cryo enabler for more melts, since Cryo application is often times worse than Hydro application
• ATK support for Diluc (almost always Bennett)

3. Diluc Plunge Teams

With Xianyun’s release in Version 4.4, Diluc received a new Playstyle, which can combine earlier Melt and Vape Strategies with Diluc’s high multiplier plunge attacks, unlocking Diluc’s full potential.

Notes:

• Your Diluc Plunge teams will consist of Diluc.

• Xianyun to enable the Plunge playstyle

• Hydro or Cryo support (Furina, Citlali, Candace, Xingqiu, Yelan) to enable reactions

• Bennett (Support), Bennett should be C6 to infuse Diluc’s plunges without Diluc requiring using his burst

Diluc Constellations

As a standard banner character, Diluc’s Constellations are not really something you can wish for, but while his Constellations do increase his damage, the increase is quite small overall.

Constellation 1

His C1 simply increases the Damage dealt by Diluc to enemies with below half health by a small amount. This is something nice to have, but the effect also only applies to around 50% of the fight.

Constellation 2

It basically is another decent buff to Diluc’s Damage, as you gain up to 30% Attack just from taking Damage. Honestly, it isn’t worth intentionally getting hit to trigger its effect, but it makes it less punishing when the enemy boss pushes you around.

Constellation 4

While it sounds good on paper, trying to trigger its effect can have a negative impact on your total damage, as you don’t want to directly use your skill two times in a row, since its main use is to cancel your normal attack animation.

Constellation 6

Actually, a surprisingly good constellation, as it buffs your normal attacks by a very decent amount after casting your skill. Since you usually want to perform a skill between two normal attacks anyway, this constellation simply results in more damage without any consequences.
