Honkai: Star Rail 3.8 will introduce a single new 5-star character — The Dahlia, a Fire Nihility unit confirmed through drip marketing. Early leaks also suggest that Firefly, Boothill, and Rappa will appear in the first half of the update, while Fugue, Lingsha, and Yunli will rerun in the second. Although the details are not final, here’s an updated overview of all known 3.8 banners so far.

HSR 3.8 New Character
The Dahlia
The Dahlia represents one of Honkai: Star Rail's Break support units. Her position as a Super Break team enabler comes from her ability to deploy a Zone that converts Toughness Reduction into Super Break damage and her capacity to designate a Dance Partner who gains additional benefits. As a 5-star Nihility character, she excels at providing team-wide Break Effect amplification and dealing follow-up attack damage.
The Dahlia's gameplay revolves around managing her Zone effect, which can be deployed through her Skill. This Zone lasts for 3 turns and increases all allies' Weakness Break Efficiency by 50% while allowing Toughness damage dealt to enemies who are not yet broken to be converted into Super Break damage. This mechanic is revolutionary as it allows Break teams to deal damage consistently without waiting for the enemy's Toughness bar to deplete.
Her Talent automatically assigns Dance Partner status to herself and one ally with the highest Break Effect. When the Dance Partner attacks a broken target, the Toughness reduction becomes Super Break damage. Additionally, when the Dance Partner attacks, The Dahlia launches follow-up attacks that convert their Toughness reduction into Super Break damage at 200% effectiveness.
Her Ultimate, Wallow... Entombed Ash, applies the Wilt debuff for 4 turns, reducing enemy Defense and applying the weakness types of all Dance Partners to all enemies. This ability defines her role as a Break team enabler, allowing teams to bypass enemy resistances and trigger Weakness Breaks more consistently.

Immolation: Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 60% / 75% / 90% / 105% / 120% . When entering combat, increases Break DMG dealt by the wearer and another teammate who triggered combat by 32% / 42% / 52% / 62% / 72% . If there is no teammate who triggered combat, applies this effect to the wearer and the teammate with the highest Break Effect. Effects of the same type cannot be stacked. When the wearer applies Weakness to an enemy target, recovers 1 Skill Point. This effect can only trigger once, and trigger count resets when using Ultimate.
