Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 Release Date

The new season officially launched on February 21, 2025, right after Chapter 6 Season 1 wrapped up. Servers went down briefly for maintenance as usual before going back live with the crime-themed update. New POIs or Locations

Crime City

The heart of all criminal activity, Crime City is the ultimate battleground for outlaws. Packed with bank vaults, shady establishments like Hostile Hotel and Wise Guys Bookstore, and henchmen guarding valuable loot, this location is where the real action happens.

Outlaw Oasis

After a long day of heisting, criminals need a place to unwind. Outlaw Oasis is a luxury hideout where you along with criminals regroup, plan your next move, and even find valuable loot stashed away.

Shiny Shafts

This is an area where Fletcher Kane is running a full-scale gold mining operation. Shiny Shafts is filled with riches, but it’s also one of the most dangerous places on the map. You can raid this place for Gold Bars but your visit here will not be easy.

Lonewolf Lair

That’s Fletcher Kane’s personal mansion hideout, which is heavily guarded and loaded with high-tier loot—this is where you’ll find him if you’re brave enough to defeat this boss. Taking over this location is no easy feat but once successful, the rewards are worth the effort.

New Bosses & Medallions

The new season introduces two strong bosses who rule the island with iron fists. Beating them won’t be easy, but the right strategy and weapons will do the job. Epic Games has included two new Medallions which you get from each new boss fight as a drop.

Fletcher Kane

The crime kingpin of Crime City, mob don Fletcher Kane is a wolf boss with an army of guards protecting him. He only appears after you start a vault heist, meaning you’ll need to fight your way to him. Kane is not very tough and uses claw-based melee attacks. After defeating him, you’ll earn Mythic Double Down Pistol and Unstoppable Medallion (increases sprint speed and lets you bash enemies while running).

Shogun X

Shogun X has returned to the battlefield appearing on a floating island. He only spawns at Loot Island when the fourth storm circle forms, so keep track of it on your mini-map. Defeating him grants you a Super Shield Medallion (creates a Shield Bubble Jr. when using healing items), Enhance Holo Twister Assault Rifle, Pistol, and Shogun X’s Fire Oni Mask.

Dill Bits and Gold Rush

Gold Bars are still the main currency this season, but there’s a new rarer form of money Dill Bits (named after Big Dill, Fortnite’s rap-loving pickle).

Dill Bits are more valuable than Gold Bars, these are only available in vaults and must be spent before the match ends as they are only usable within that specific match and need to be collected again in new game. You can buy Mythic and Legendary items using either Gold Bars or Dill Bits at Black Markets which are located across the island.

You get the Gold Rush effect by swimming in gold-infused water that improves movement speed, increases Pickaxe swing speed, and the structure damage the Pickaxe delivers.

New Weapons & Items

In order to pull off the ultimate heist or win over the hardest bosses, you’ll need powerful weapons and gear. Thankfully, Chapter 6 Season 2 of Fortnite delivers a stacked arsenal of new guns and equipment to help you dominate the battlefield. These inclusions cover long-range sniping, explosive vault breaches, or good old-fashioned close-quarters combat.

• Collateral Damage Assault Rifle – A powerful AR with high-impact damage.

• Falcon Eye Sniper – A high-precision sniper rifle, ideal for picking off rivals from Crime City’s rooftops. If you are an expert sniper, it will be easy for you to eliminate targets with a perfect headshot without giving any hint to opponents.

• Outlaw Shotgun (Coming in v34.10) – A deadly close-range weapon to hit hard and fast for a single shot kill. It’s best to use for vault raids or tight corridor fights.

• Pump & Dump (Dual-Wield) (Coming in v34.10) – Hold a Shotgun in one hand & an SMG in the other.

• The Kneecapper (Baseball Bat) – Increases sprint speed and jump height while wielding.

New Explosives:

• Thermite – Only way to open vaults; can also destroy armored train turrets. Plant it, step back, and watch the vault doors melt away. Damaging the vault’s weak points first will make the explosion go off faster.

• Plasma Burst Laser – Need a quick, accurate way to break into armored structures? This high-tech laser slices through obstacles like butter, ideal for vault raids.

• Rocket Drill (coming v34.10) – Blows holes in vaults and structures.

Utility Items:

• Port-A-Cover – Deploys instant cover, This portable barricade lets you hunker down behind a shield while fending off enemies or looting a vault.

• Pulse Scanner – Detects nearby enemies to never get caught off guard.

• Gold Splash – Heals & grants Gold Rush effect.

• Med-Mist Grenade – A good quick-heal solution in emergencies when you don’t have time to stop and use a Med Kit.

New Boons

Boons are back this season, and they can only be found in Rare Chests or Black Markets. Here’s what’s new:

• Vulture Boon – Reveals enemy eliminations on the map for a limited period.

• Gold Rush Boon – Opening chests triggers the Gold Rush effect that increases movement and Pickaxe speed.

• Adrenaline Rush Boon – Grants Slap effect (unlimited sprint energy) when mantling, hurdling, or wall-jumping.

• Gold Ammo Boon – Grants ammo whenever you pick up Gold Bars.
