We made adjustments to previous versions of "FM" based on how teams handle throw-ins in professional matches. Now, set-piece coaches will ask you to decide how to handle defensive throw-ins on the pitch, as well as throw-ins in midfield and attacking areas. For the first two, you can choose between "keeping possession" or "pushing forward," while in the attacking area, you can choose to either play the ball into the penalty area or take a long throw-in.
When you complete preference selection for these three pitch areas, the set-piece coach will generate tactics for you in the same way as corner kicks and free kicks, and automatically assign roles to the players based on their attributes.

Similar to the player list for each tactic, penalty takers are now automatically assigned by the team.
When sorting penalty takers based on relevant attributes, you will also notice that passing has been changed to categorize based on spin instead of the wing.
Therefore, there is no need to duplicate settings on both sides anymore; now you only need to create one tactic, as long as you have suitable players in your penalty takers list, the tactic can be applied to any side of the field.
If you want the players to give an outside curve ball on one side and an inside curve ball on the other side, you can achieve this by setting a player as your "designated expert" from the penalty taker menu, and they will execute every corner kick or free kick; you can also choose a right-footed or left-footed penalty taker for specific set pieces. After making significant changes to the creative design of set pieces, we have separated penalty kicks as a separate tab. There are two additional custom options, one of which allows you to change the penalty taker after your preferred player misses a penalty during the match.
Level of supervisory duties
Please remember that the tactics created by the set-piece coach are not completely fixed. You have the right to edit, modify, and customize them.
However, if you are satisfied, it means that your set-piece coach is competent enough to take charge independently. You can entrust the coach with all set-piece-related tasks throughout your career. If you wish, they can also handle all training affairs and update personnel and set-piece takers' list promptly according to your adjustments to the team lineup and player roster.
This also means that your set-piece tactics can now better match your specific preferences. After completing the settings, with the support and assistance of experts, you can choose to make adjustments yourself or interfere less.
In addition to assisting in building and developing your set-piece tactics, FM24 will also help you gain a deeper understanding of your opponents.
