  • Piper Overview

Piper is an A-Rank Physical Anomaly Agent who specialises in dealing heavy DMG through Attribute Anomaly and Disorder. Her core gameplay revolves around a special resource—Power stacks, which caps out at 20 stacks (or 30 with Mindscape 1). With each Power stack, Piper gains up to 4% Anomaly Buildup Rate, resulting in a tremendous 80% Anomaly Buildup Rate (or 120% with Mindscape 1), allowing her to fill up enemies' Anomaly bar extremely quickly. These Power stacks are gained through using EX Special Attack and Ultimate. At 20 or over stacks of Power, Piper increases the whole squad's DMG by 18% with her Additional Core Ability, making her a great teamate in many Anomaly teams. She also has a really unique Special Attack, it starts off as a slow spinning attack that transitions into a fast and powerful one that expends Energy to maintain, and ends with a devastating blow that deals a great amount of DMG; this transition can also be skipped by hitting the first 3 strikes of a Basic Attack, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter.

Piper Overview

Piper Skill Priority

Below are the best skill priorities for Piper:

SkillPriority
Core Skill Core Skill★★★★★ (Top)
Basic Attack Basic Attack★★★★ (Top)
Chain Attack Chain Attack★★★ (High)
Special Attack Special Attack★★★★ (Top)
Dodge Dodge (Low)
Assist Assist (Low)

With the nature of Anomaly characters, skill upgrades excluding Core Skill aren't too relevant in Piper's overall DMG, though they should still be upgraded for maximum performance. Speaking of Core Skill, it provides Piper with a boost in Anomaly Buildup Rate of up to 4% per Power stack once maxed, making it incredibly good for her, hence its high priority. Next on the priority list are her Basic Attack and Special Attack, as they're the most used skills in combat, with Special Attack being especially important in her gameplay. Her Chain Attack comes after, providing some decent benefits, but not to the extent of the previous skills. Lastly, her Dodge and Assist skills can be safely skipped until you've sufficiently upgraded other skills of higher priority, they don't contribute much to her kit.

Piper Best W-Engines

As an Anomaly character, Piper's stat focus is on Anomaly Mastery, Anomaly Proficiency and ATK. Any Anomaly W-Engine focusing on those stats will work best for her. Among them, Practiced Perfection, despite not being her Signature W-Engine, is her strongest pick. We recommend you secure this W-Engine if you wish to maximise Piper's potential.

Piper Best Teams

Piper works best when there's another Sons of Calydon member or a Physical character in the squad. Because then she can activate her Additional Core Ability, boosting the whole squad's DMG by a great 18% at 20 Power stacks.

1. Piper Premium Teams

Vivian and Burnice work amazingly with Piper, being able to build up and trigger their Attribute Anomaly while staying off-field, allowing Piper to shine on the battlefield. Yuzuha is the best Support Anomaly characters could ask for, providing powerful stat buffs as well as additional Anomaly Buildup, turning Piper into a potent DPS. You can also spice things up with Nangong Yu, changing Piper's gameplay from just applying Attribute Anomaly whenever she can to strategically timing Anomaly procs and Disorder to fit into stun windows, dealing massive DMG.

2. Piper Free To Play Teams

Piper's free to play options are unfortunately quite limited, though you can still make general Support characters work with her if you build them to be Anomaly hybrids. Pulchra and Lucy are almost mandatory in her free to play team, as they're required to activate her Additional Core Ability. For her third squadmate, we choose Nicole as she's incredibly good as an Anomaly Support, her high Anomaly Buildup Rate from Mindscapes combined with her DEF Shred buff make her an amazing choice for Piper if you can time it properly.

Piper Mindscape Cinema

Piper Mindscape

M1: Leisure Moment
  • Rating: ★★★★★ (Best)
  • Effect: When Piper's Special Attack: Tire Spin, EX Special Attack: Engine Spin, or Ultimate hits an enemy with a spinning slash, there is a 50% chance to gain an additional stack of Power. The maximum stack limit of Power is increased to 30.
  • Piper's best Mindscape when it comes to DPS increase. This Mindscape allows Piper to gain up to 30 stacks of Power, which provides her with a tremendous 120% Anomaly Buildup Rate boost at max stacks, making Piper's Attribute Anomaly procs even faster than they already were. The luck-based additional Power stacks also help a lot when it comes to building up and maintaining her Power stacks.
M2: Motivation
  • Rating: ★★★ (Good)
  • EffectDuring Special Attack: Tire Spin and EX Special Attack: Engine Spin, Piper's movement speed increases. When using Special Attack: One Trillion Tons, EX Special Attack: Really Heavy, or Ultimate to launch a downward smash that hits an enemy, the Physical DMG dealt by the move is increased by 10%. For each stack of Power, this buff is further increased by 1%.

  • The increased movement speed for Piper's Special Attacks actually improves her quality of life by a lot. That, and a DMG increase of up to 40% for the heavy hit of her Special Attacks and Ultimate make this Mindscape a pretty good one.
M3: Truck Expert
  • Rating: ★ (Not Good)
  • Effect: Basic Attack, Assist, Dodge, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2
  • Due to the nature of Anomaly characters, skill upgrades offer minimal changes in performance. This means that Piper's Mindscape 3 is almost irrelevant.
M4: Refined Techniques
  • Rating: ★★★ (Good)
  • Effect: Whenever a squad member inflicts an Attribute Anomaly on an enemy, Piper recovers 20 Energy. This effect can trigger once every 30s.
  • This Mindscape provides Piper with 20 additional Energy when an Attribute Anomaly is triggered, resulting in more frequent uses of EX Special and potentially more DMG as well as ease of gameplay when it comes to maintaining her Power stacks. However, the 30 seconds cooldown makes it quite limited in short encounters.
M5: Personal Hobbies
  • Rating: ★ (Not Good)
  • Effect: Basic Attack, Assist, Dodge, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2
  • As explained in Piper's Mindscape 3, skill upgrades for her don't matter much.
M6: Mild Excitement
  • Rating: ★★★★ (Great)
  • Effect: Increases the duration limit of EX Special Attack: Engine Spin by 2s and extends the duration of Power by 4s.
  • Piper's Mindscape 6 is arguably on the same level as her Mindscape 1 in terms of rating but is limited by the lack of stat buffs. The longer EX Special Attack duration doesn't matter too much, but the 4 seconds increase in Power stacks' duration make Piper incredibly powerful. Those few extra seconds might not sound like a lot, but thats a 33% increase in length, making it possible for you to maintain max Power stacks throughout the entire fight easily.

Conclusion

Overall, Piper is an amazing Anomaly DPS for a free character. Despite being an old character, when equipped with the right build and team setup, she can still compete with limited Agents. We hope this Piper guide can provide you with a better understanding of her strengths and help you maximize her potential.
