Zhezhi Overview
Zhezhi is a 5-star rarity Glacio character who is released in WuWa V1.2 and returns in V2.0. She utilizes Rectifier weapons and serves as a hybrid Sub DPS and Support teammate in combat. Zhezhi can synergize with many DPS Resonators, including Carlotta, Jinhsi, Lingyang, and Sanhua. When it comes to pairing with Support Resonators, she can now be partnered with Shorekeeper, Verina, and Baizhi.
Zhezhi Gameplay and Playstyle
Zhezhi excels in mid-range combat while providing buffs to her teammates. As a Sub DPS unit, she deals moderate and sustained Glacio damage to her enemies. Her function as a Support character is centered on amplifying her allies’ Glacio damage, Resonance Skill damage, Normal Attack, and Resonance Energy recovery.
Her playstyle includes dealing basic attacks to build up her Forte Circuit and unleashing her Resonance Liberation: Living Canvas to her targets. Given that Zhezhi works effectively with Glacio element Resonators, she can still work with non-Glacio units, especially Jinhsi. Jinhsi and Zhezhi have a unique synergy in terms of Coordinated Attacks, gaining Incandescene stacks, and field time management.
Skill Priority for Zhezhi
Below are the skill priorities for Zhezhi:
Skill | Priority |
Resonance Liberation | ★★★★ (High) |
Forte Circuit | ★★★ (Medium) |
Resonance Skill | ★ (Low) |
Normal Attack | ★ (Low) |
Intro Skill | ★ (Low) |
Resonance Liberation: Living Canvas
Zhezhi’s Resonance Liberation is prioritized heavily since it will boost her ultimate damage output. In addition, leveling this skill will boost her Coordinated Attacks whenever Inklit Spirits are summoned. Since Version 2.0 just started, there will be more Resonators that Zhezhi can enhance, especially if their playstyle emphasizes Coordinated Attacks like Carlotta and Jinhsi.
Forte Circuit: Ink and Wash
Increasing the level of Zhezhi’s Forte Circuit is critical since it helps her accumulate Afflatus, a resource for summoning Phantasmic Imprints. The presence of Phantasmic Imprints in the field will also help Zhezhi’s enhanced Resonance Skills specifically Stroke of Genius and Creation’s Zenith. Generating resources like Afflatus quickly will help boost team synergy, especially for new Version 2.0 units like Carlotta.
Resonance Skill: Manifestation
After upgrading Zhezhi’s Forte Circuit and Intro Skill, focus on her base Resonance Skill as well to increase Glacio DMG while summoning Phantasmic Imprints in combat. As Version 2.0 introduces new gameplay components, such as new Echo Sets, the relevance of this skill in maintaining high DPS is expected to stay relevant.
Normal Attack: Dimming Brush
Zhezhi’s basic attacks are one of your least priorities after maxing out her other essential skills. However, it still plays an important role in her combo rotations. Also, it helps Zhezhi’s accumulation of Afflatus and buildup of her Forte Gauge. However, leveling her normal attack is not for dealing damage but for the accumulation of resources for summoning Phantasmic Imprints.
Intro Skill: Radiant Ruin
Upgrading Zhezhi’s Intro Skill, Radiant Ruin, will improve her Glacio DMG. Since her Forte Circuit also deals Glacio DMG, it would be necessary to upgrade this skill. Also, leveling this skill will be essential for generating Afflatus resources and filling up her Forte Gauge quickly, resulting in stronger combos.
Best Weapons for Zhezhi
Below are the best Rectifier weapons for Zhezhi.
1. Rime-Draped Sprouts
Weapon | Base Stats |
Rime-Drapped Sprouts (5★) |
+500 ATK (Level 90) +72% CRIT DMG (Level 90) |
Weapon Effect (R1) | Increase ATK by 12%. While the wielder is on the field, using Resonance Skill grants 12% Basic Attack DMG Bonus, stacking up to 3 times for 6s. At 3 stacks or above, casting Outro Skill consumes all stacks of this effect and grants the wielder 52% Basic Attack DMG Bonus for 27s, effective when the wielder is off the field. |
Zhezhi's signature weapon, Rime-Drapped Sprouts, is her Best-in-Slot (BiS) 5-star weapon. This Rectifier weapon fits her kit since it focuses on her Attack and Basic Attack DMG bonus (up to 3 stacks). This weapon maximizes Zhezhi’s potential as a Sub DPS even if she is not active on the field.
2. Stringmaster
Weapon | Base Stats |
Stringmaster (5★) |
+500 ATK (Level 90) +35.9% CRIT Rate (Level 90) |
Weapon Effect (R1) | Increases the DMG Bonus by 12%. When dealing Resonance Skill DMG, increases ATK by 12%, stacking up to 2. This effect lasts for 5s. When the equipped Resonator is not on the field, increases their ATK by an additional 12%. |
Stringmaster, Yinlin’s signature weapon, is a solid alternative 5-star Rectifier weapon for Zhezhi. It gives her a Crit Rate boost resulting to increased damage output. Also, the ATK% boost from Stringmaster is easy to activate since Zhezhi frequently uses her Resonance Skills in combat.
3. Cosmic Ripples
Weapon | Base Stats |
Cosmic Ripples (5★) |
+500 ATK (Level 90) +54% ATK (Level 90) |
Weapon Effect (R1) | Increases Energy Regen by 12.8%. When hitting a target with Basic Attacks, increases Basic Attack DMG Bonus by 3.2%, stacking up to 5 time(s). This effect lasts for 8s and can be triggered 1 time(s) every 0.5s. |
Another choice for a 5-star Rectifier weapon is Cosmic Ripples. This weapon has a good quantity of Energy Regen, Basic Attack DMG, and Attack% enhancements. As an easily obtainable 5-star weapon, this is a practical option for Zhezhi. Then, you can farm for Echoes with sub-stat bonuses that emphasize Basic Attack DMG% Bonus, which is crucial to Zhezhi's kit.
4. Augment
Weapon | Base Stats |
Augment (4★) |
+412 ATK (Level 90) +20.2% CRIT Rate (Level 90) |
Weapon Effect (R5) | When Resonance Liberation is cast, increases the caster's ATK by 48%, lasting for 15s. |
For Zhezhi, Augment is a preferred generic 4-star Rectifier weapon, especially when maxed dupe. When she activates her Resonance Liberation, she also receives an attack boost in combat.
5. Fusion Accretion
Weapon | Base Stats |
Fusion Accretion(4★) |
+462ATK (Level 90) +18.2% ATK (Level 90) |
Weapon Effect (R5) | Casting the Resonance Skill grants 10 Resonance Energy and increases ATK by 20%, lasting for 16s. This effect can be triggered once every 20s. |
Fusion Accretion at high rank offers a boost on damage output when equipped. Since Zhezhi is an ATK% scaling character, she can take advantage of this weapon’s effect, especially when casting Resonance Skills in combat.
Best Echo Sets for Zhezhi
Here are the best echo sets for Zhezhi.
1. Empyrean Anthem Coordinated Attack Sub DPS Echo Set (New End Game Set)
Echo | Set Effects |
Empyrean Anthem |
|
Main Echo | |
Hecate |
|
The Empyrean Anthem Echo is focused on Coordinated Attacks instead of unleashing Outro Skills. This full set provides a huge damage increase of Coordinated Attacks that align with Zhezhi’s skills and buffs. In addition, the Coordinated Attack boost also applies to an active teammate on the field when Zhezhi lands a critical hit first. As for Hecate, the Main Echo provides more Coordinated Attack DMG boosts that can hugely benefit Carlotta and Jinhsi.
2. Moonlit Clouds Full Set (Mid to End Game Set)
Echo | Set Effects |
Moonlit Clouds |
|
Main Echo | |
Impermanence Heron |
|
This Moonlit Clouds Echo set emphasizes Zhezhi’s role as a Support unit in terms of buffing the attack of teammates. Using Impermanence Heron as your Main Echo provides Zhezhi additional energy regeneration in case of missing Energy Regen sub-stats. Then, switch cancel to your main DPS before using an Outro skill to obtain an attack boost. The Moonlit Clouds Echo set is recommended for Zhezhi when paired with strong DPS characters like Jinhsi.
3. Freezing Frost Glacio DMG Sub DPS Echo Set (Early Game Set)
Echo | Set Effects |
Freezing Frost |
|
Main Echo | |
Tempest Mephis (Option 1) |
|
The Freezing Frost Echo set focuses significantly on Glacio DPS, making it ideal for Zhezhi. As a full set, it allows her to deal consistent Glacio damage that can trigger Coordinated Attacks. With Lampylumen Myriad as your Main Echo, you will inflict Freeze status on enemies apart from dealing Glacio DMG. Unfortunately, the Glacio-centric set does not encourage switch cancels since Zhezhi must spend up to 3 seconds to activate all of the damaging effects of the Main Echo in battle. This early game Echo set is recommended for new Zhezhi players and havers until you can switch to the other optimal end game sets like Moonlit Clouds and Emyprean Anthem.
