Wuthering Waves 1.0 Tier List: Characters You Need To Build Up

To make the tier list of Wuthering Waves, first, we will divide all characters into three groups, Main DPS, Sub DPS and Support. The Main DPS characters are those that can deal the most damage and spend the most time on the field as part of a team, while the Sub DPS characters are those who can attack off the field along with the Main DPS characters, and some even can provide some kinds of buffs to the Main DPS at the same time. The Support are able to support members in the team in survival.

Main DPS

As the only Limited 5-star Main DPS character now in version 1.0, Jiyan is undoubtedly S-ranked. Not only because his output is obviously higher than other peers, but also he has an advantage when facing multiple enemies. The special effect art of lance of Qingloong is really cool! If you like Jiyan, do not hesitate to get one!

Rover(Havoc), Encore, Calcharo and Lingyang are all recommended characters to build up if you have one. The Resonance Liberation of Rover(Havoc) is really strong and you may have seen it in many videos. Also you can convert your Rover to Havoc for free as long as you finish the Main Quests. So Rover is really a good choice for those who lack a Main DPS character but wants to get higher scores in the Tower of Adversity. Encore, Calcharo and Lingyang are all 5-star characters in standard character convene. If you get one, they are also worth cultivating as all of them can guarantee you a good gaming experience. Especially Encore, she can boost her damage to a new level if equipped with the new weapon "Stringmaster".

As for other Main DPS characters, they can not give the same damage as those 5-stars. So, the priority should be 5-stars.

Sub DPS

Just like Jiyan, Yinlin, the only limited 5-star Sub DPS character, deserves her S rank. However, her weakness is obvious just like her advantages. Yinlin is a character who will be much stronger if the numbers of enemies get more, as her skill is specialized for dealing with groups of opponents. Thus, if facing just one opponent, Yinlin will lose the dominance.

Sanhua is obviously a Sub DPS character that can be a teammate in almost every party. If you have spare materials, try to develop her. She won’t let you down. Jianxin is the same as Sanhua. She can also be a support in the team. The problem about Jianxin may be that she can do many things for your party, but can not do either of them well enough. Mortefi, as a Sub DPS, is good at amplifying Heavy Attack DMG, which makes him the best partner for Jiyan. Luckily enough we have Mortefi in Jiyan’s banner, so you can get Mortefi when pulling for Jiyan.

It is not recommended to promote other Sub DPS considering the DPS of team builds. However, many of them have very interesting skills, like Yangyang’s Heavy Attack with 3 Melodies, and you may want to go for a play.

Support

There are now not too many Support characters in the game. The two healer Verina and Baizhi are indispensable parts for your party. So if you have Verina, build up her. If not, raise Baizhi. And if you want to challenge yourself in the Tower of Adversity, raise both of them. Jianxin and Taoqi are both shield providers, but so far shields are not as useful and convenient as healers. So they are in the lower ranks of Support.
