  • Jingran Gameplay and Playstyle

Jingran is a Fusion Broadblade Main DPS whose kit scales off Max HP rather than ATK, converting Shields into massive personal damage buffs. His gameplay revolves around alternating Yin Vessel and Yang Font states, each unlocking a separate Basic Attack chain, Drink Soul and Devil's Bane, that build Qi toward his Heavy Attacks.

His core mechanic centers on Shield conversion. His Inherent Skill Hark the Dust grants him a recurring self-Shield scaling off Max HP, while Trace the Vestige builds Ghost Shroud stacks whenever any teammate gains a Shield, feeding into buffs tied to his Fixation state. His passives Nether to Light and Yang Changes, Yin Unites further convert his Max HP into bonus Healing and ATK, making him one of the few Main DPS Resonators who scales primarily off HP.

His Resonance Liberation Burial of Thousand Souls deals a massive Fusion Heavy Attack, drops his HP to 50% if above that threshold, and grants Wayfarer's Mark stacks that fuel his Heavy Attack - Soul Raid and Stardome Meander nukes. At 300 Qi, either Heavy Attack can be unleashed for a huge burst of Fusion DMG, switching his stance on cast and keeping his Yin-Yang cycle going.

Jingran Skill Priority

SkillPriorityReason
Forte Circuit★★★★★ (Top)Contains the largest DMG Multipliers in his kit due to constant Heavy Attack spam between Soul Raid and Stardome Meander.
Basic Attack★★★★★ (Top)Spammed between Heavy Attacks with excellent scaling, and doubles as a key Qi builder to keep his Heavy Attack loop going.
Resonance Liberation★★★★ (High)Strong damage on its own, and Chimei Wangliang scaling from it assists every subsequent Heavy Attack.
Resonance Skill★★★ (Mid)Decent damage that can substitute for missed Basic Attacks, since a single Skill cast builds roughly the same resources as Basic Attack Stage 3+4.
Intro Skill★★ (Low)Minimal impact on his damage output. Mostly there for the entry animation.

Jingran Best Weapons

Jingran is a Fusion Broadblade Main DPS whose damage primarily comes from Heavy Attack DMG scaling off Max HP and Shield uptime. When choosing the best weapons for Jingran in Wuthering Waves, prioritize those that provide HP, Crit Rate, and Crit DMG.

Weapons that boost Heavy Attack DMG or DEF ignore are especially valuable for maximizing Jingran's damage output. His signature weapon Thousandfold Deliverance is his best-in-slot option, as it stacks Fusion DMG Bonus each time he gains a Shield, up to 60%, while also granting bonus DEF ignore on his Heavy Attacks through Cradle of Life. For players without his signature weapon, Thunderflare Dominion is a strong 5-star alternative that boosts Heavy Attack DMG and adds DEF ignore through Shield stacking, while Ages of Harvest and Verdant Summit provide reliable Resonance Skill and Heavy Attack DMG Bonus. For 4-star options, Aureate Zenith and Autumntrace are solid picks that keep his damage competitive without premium weapons.

Jingran Best Echo Set

Rate upon gaining a Shield, up to 20% at 4 stacks, and grants an additional 15% Fusion DMG Bonus at max stacks. Since Jingran consistently generates Shields through his Inherent Skills, he can reliably trigger and maintain this bonus throughout his rotation.

Crown of Valor is a strong alternative that also triggers off Shield gain, stacking ATK and Crit. DMG up to 5 times. For early game players without either set, Molten Rift works as a solid budget option, boosting Fusion DMG after using his Resonance Skill.

Jingran Best Team Comps

Jingran performs best with teammates who can consistently generate Shields, as this directly fuels his Fusion DMG stacking through Hark the Dust and Trace the Vestige. Since his kit scales more off Max HP rather than ATK, he pairs especially well with Iuno, whose Inherent Skill Waxing Ascent shields her on nearly every action, making her one of the most reliable Shield-uptime sources in the game and his best-in-slot Sub-DPS. Pairing him with a healer or buffer that provides Crit Rate, Crit DMG, or Fusion DMG Bonus in the third slot will further maximize his effectiveness as a Main DPS.

Jingran Best Resonance Chains

S1: Wax or Wane, All Gild the Bough
  • Rating: ★★★ (Good)
  • Effect: The DMG Multipliers of Resonance Skill - Encroaching Yin, Resonance Skill - Netherworld Traverse, Resonance Skill - Scorching Yang, and Resonance Skill - Afterlife’s Guide are increased by 80%.
Resonance Skill - Encroaching Yin, Resonance Skill - Netherworld Traverse, Resonance Skill - Scorching Yang, and Resonance Skill - Afterlife’s Guide are now immune to interruptions.
  • Reason: A minor damage upgrade since Resonance Skill isn't a major part of his damage. The interruption immunity is a nice quality-of-life bonus, but this node contributes little to his overall DPS.
S2: Day or Night, Let This Be Eternal
  • Rating: ★★★★ (Very Good)
  • Effect: The DMG Multipliers of Heavy Attack - Soul Raid and Heavy Attack - Stardome Meander are increased by 40%. While in the Yinghuo state, the DMG Multiplier increase of Heavy Attack - Soul Raid and Heavy Attack - Stardome Meander is increased by 40%.

Upon engaging in combat, Jingran gains the following effects:
    - Restore 4 points of Qi.
    - When Jingran's Ghost Shroud is below 300 points, restore to 25 stacks.
    - Jingran gains Netherworld's Boon.

    Netherworld's Boon
Heavy Attack - Soul Raid and Heavy Attack - Stardome Meander gain 25 DMG Amplification for 180%s.
  • Reason: A solid damage jump that directly buffs his two hardest-hitting Heavy Attacks. Commonly recommended alongside S3 as a strong stopping point.
S3: I Drink Deep of Their Forgetting
  • Rating: ★★★★ (Very Good)
  • Effect: When Jingran casts Heavy Attack - Soul Raid or Heavy Attack - Stardome Meander, gain 5 points of Ghost Shroud.

When Jingran casts Resonance Liberation - Burial of Thousand Souls,Yang Changes, Yin Unites is replaced by Yin-Yang Everflow.

    Yin-Yang Everflow
Jingran gains additional ATK based on Max HP: For every 1000 points of Jingran's Max HP, gain 50 additional ATK, up to 2500.
  • Reason: Pushes his damage further through the added ATK scaling and improved Shield regeneration. Together, S2 and S3 form the most commonly suggested investment pair for a meaningful damage boost without going all the way to S6.
S4: Rainy Season Dwell in My Eyes
  • Rating: ★★★★★ (Best)
  • Effect: When a Resonator in the team gains a Shield, all Resonators in the team gain 20% All-Attribute DMG Bonus for 30s.
  • Reason: A strong team-wide DMG buff rather than a personal scaling upgrade. A great pick for teams that already generate Shields consistently.
S5: A Thousand Futile Glimpses
  • Rating: ★★ (Ok)
  • Effect: When Jingran takes a fatal blow, he will not fall and will instead gain a Shield equal to 50% of Max HP for 15s. This effect can be triggered once every 10 min. This Shield will not be passed on to the incoming Resonator.
  • Reason: A pure survivability node with no DPS gain. Only worth taking for the safety net in difficult content.
S6: I Am the Constant in the Chaos
  • Rating: ★★★★★ (Best)
  • Effect: Targets take 40% more Heavy Attack DMG from Jingran.

The DMG Multiplier of Chimei Wangliang is increased by 50%.

During Yinghuo, if Jingran is the active Resonator in the team and there is a target to lock on to, Jingran continuously summons Chimei Wangliang to attack the targets, dealing Fusion DMG, considered Heavy Attack DMG.

Chimei Wangliang can be summoned this way at an interval of 1s for up to 12 times. The available summon charges of Chimei Wangliang reset when one of the following conditions is met:
    - Yinghuo ends.
    - Yinghuo- Yinghuo
  • Reason: The single biggest damage jump in his kit, through the persistent summon and increased target vulnerability. His best damage node by a clear margin.
