Hiyuki Gameplay and Playstyle

Hiyuki is a Glacio Sword resonator who functions as a Main DPS, specializing in Resonance Liberation DMG. Her gameplay revolves around cycling between two states, Present Self and Foreclaimed Self, to build up and unleash powerful charged attacks.

In Present Self, Hiyuki builds Dedication through Basic Attacks, Dodge Counters, and Resonance Skills. Once Dedication is full, she can cast Frost Splinter: Present Self followed by Foreclaiming: Inward Vision, transitioning into Foreclaimed Self and setting up her core damage loop.

While in Foreclaimed Self, Hiyuki builds Frostheart and Whiteout Bitterfrost stacks. With enough Frostheart, she can enter Iai Stance and cast Iai repeatedly, each cast granting a stack of Snowforged Blade, up to 3. These stacks are then consumed by Foreclaiming: Blade Liberation, her ultimate nuke, where more stacks spent directly increases the attack's damage multiplier.

Hiyuki also benefits from teammates who apply Glacio Chafe or Havoc Bane, which grant her Snow Rust stacks. At 3 stacks, she unlocks amplified Glacio Bite and Glacio Chafe damage.

Hiyuki Best Weapons Hiyuki is a Glacio Main DPS whose damage primarily comes from Resonance Liberation DMG. When choosing the best weapons for Hiyuki in Wuthering Waves, prioritize those that provide CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK.

Weapons that increase Glacio DMG or Resonance Liberation DMG are especially valuable for maximizing Hiyuki's DPS in Wuthering Waves. Her signature weapon Frostburn is her best-in-slot option, as it directly amplifies Glacio Chafe DMG and causes her Resonance Liberation DMG to ignore a portion of the target's DEF. For players without her signature weapon, options that grant strong ATK bonuses or CRIT stats can also perform very well for Hiyuki.

Wishes of Quiet Snowfall is Hiyuki's best Echo set. The 5-Piece Bonus boosts Glacio DMG further and grants the Snowfall effect, which increases Crit. Rate by 25% when Resonance Liberation DMG is dealt. Since most of Hiyuki's damage counts as Resonance Liberation, she can consistently activate and benefit from these bonuses. If Wishes of Quiet Snowfall is not yet available, players can opt for Freezing Frost in the meantime.

Effect: The DMG Multipliers of Basic Attack - Foreclaimed Self, Heavy Attack - Foreclaimed Self, Mid-air Attack - Foreclaimed Self, Mid-air Plunging Attack - Foreclaimed Self, Dodge Counter - Foreclaimed Self are increased by 120%.

Basic Attack - Foreclaimed Self Stage 3 now has an increased range and pulls enemies within range toward the center. Hiyuki is immune to interruptions while casting Basic Attack - Foreclaimed Self Stage 4 & 5.

Casting Foreclaiming: Inward Vision enhances the next Basic Attack - Foreclaimed Self Stage 1 & 2, which now inflict 1 stack of Glacio Chafe on hit.
Reason: Significantly boosts her Foreclaimed Self attack damage and improves crowd control. The added Glacio Chafe application from her Basic Attacks also helps build Snow Rust stacks faster, indirectly improving her overall damage output.

S2 - To Burn Cold in Silence

Rating: ★★★★ (Very Good)
Effect: Iai's DMG Multiplier is increased by 125%.

Inherent Skill Ephemeral Realm's effect becomes the following one:
After staying out of combat for morethan 4s, restore 3 point of Snowforged Blade.

After staying out of combat for more than 4s, the following effects are triggered:
- Restore 3 point points of Frostharden Iai.
- Reset the Cooldown of 2 charges of Frostblight: Jade Cleave.
- Restore an additional 50 points of Frostheart for the next 2 cast of Frostblight: Jade Cleave or Frostblight: Petalfall.
Reason: Massive damage increase to her Iai attacks, which are a core part of her rotation. Generally the best stopping point for most players.

S3 - No Self, No Bound

Effect: Inherent Skill Fine Snow gains the following effect:
Every 2s after a Resonator joins the team or Hiyuki is revived, Hiyuki gains 1 stack of Snow Rust. Hiyuki can obtain up to 1 stack of Snow Rust in this way.

The DMG Multipliers of Heavy Attack - Frost Splinter: Present Self and Heavy Attack - Bitterfrost: Foreclaimed Self are increased by 160%.

At 2 stacks of Snow Rust, while Hiyuki is on the field, the DMG Multiplier of the additionally applied Glacio Bite DMG each time she inflicts Glacio Chafe is increased by 488%.
Reason: Greatly improves her Snow Rust stacking and delivers a massive boost to her Glacio Bite damage, strengthening her overall damage output considerably.

Reason: Provides a strong team-wide damage buff and some survivability. Useful for team synergy but less impactful for her personal DPS.

S5 - Vessel of Thousand Wishes

Rating: ★ (Ok)
Effect: The DMG Multipliers of Resonance Skill - Present Self, Frostblight: Jade Cleave, and Frostblight: Petalfall are increased by 80%.
Reason: Boosts her Resonance Skill damage, offering some improvement to her rotation but not a significant power spike.

Effect: The Crit. DMG of Foreclaiming: Inward Vision and Foreclaiming: Blade Liberation are increased by 500%.

At 2 stacks of Snow Rust, Hiyuki's Crit. DMG is increased by 40%.

Reason: Astronomically increases her burst damage ceiling through massive Crit. DMG scaling on her two strongest abilities, giving her the highest DPS potential in the game.
