Requirements to join

You must reach level 10 in solo mode. Having reached this level, you can access the sect, without this you cannot.

You also need to complete one of the following prerequisite to get an invite, as the sect does not seek you until and unless you’ve made your mark.

There exist two alternate pathways as opposed to the traditional one, all three are discussed below. The traditional path is an elaborate route where you need to hunt down nine types of wine. The alternate ways offer an simpler yet tricky approach to get into the sect.

The Traditional Path

Step 1: The Northern Vow Ruin: To perform a ritual to honor the past heroes (Toast to the Fallen Souls) of Northern Vow Ruins. This can be done by completing the dial up option in the ruins, which will require you to drink wine at the center of ruins.

Step 2: The Puzzle room and YanYun Oath: After which you will be teleported to the puzzle room where you need to perform the YanYun Oath. Following which you need to pick the fallen items off the ground.

After successful completion of the oath ritual the spirit of the sect acknowledge you by presenting the Letter of Initiation.

Having done the aforementioned things, you will now have nine days to drink nine types of fine wine before you can meet the Raging Tides Elder. This is a test of your knowledge of the Jianghu’s markets and hidden corners.

The wine hunt

These wines can be obtained by the following way:

Camel Milk Wine: Can be craft or purchased in Jade Gate pass.

Buy 4 wines namely, Crimson, Rose, Perfumed, and Green Realm, from the Honest merchant Hao Jiu in the Harvestfall Village. Make sure to drink these wines at moderate timings and not all at once or else you may get intoxicated (each wine increases the intoxication by 25 points) and enter a dream or false sequence (triggered when intoxication points reach 100), which may delay your progress and confuse your quest markers; Space them out. Crimson/Rose/Perfumed/Green Realm: Cost approximately 500–800 Silver each

  • After drinking all the wines, reach the Heaven’s Pier and there you’ll come face to face with the Raging Tide’s Senior Brother, Xiang Dinghua.

Alternate ways

  • Complete Liangzhou encounter: Gourd of Remembrance. This questline involves helping a veteran soldier recover his lost memories. By completing this, you bypass the need for the nine-day wine hunt, as the soldier’s recommendation acts as your letter of passage.
  • Drink one hundred jars of wine. Doing this you will catch the eye of an elder having unlocked a special achievement.

The Meeting at Heaven's Pier

Once done, go to the Raging Tides Senior Brother, Xiang Dinghua in the Harvestfall village (not by the prison, that’s the Nine Mortal ways tricking you). Here, you will need to beat the elder in a drinking game. The Drinking Game Duel is purely a test of time which can be won by bashing the button multiple times in quick succession. After winning this, you’re now eligible to join the Raging Tides Sect and are inducted as a disciple.
