How is Identity V celebrating the new year?
While multiple events and additions will come to Identity V around January 1, the official new year celebration is through the accurately named New Year's Eve event. Unfortunately for those who prefer getting new costumes for their troubles, this event won’t have any costumes to give away. The good news is that you can always buy Identity V Echoes to treat themselves to their favorite character’s costumes.
Kicking off on December 25, 2025, the event requires players to log in and complete their given tasks to earn a handful of rewards. These rewards include:

Naturally, most of these rewards are themed after the holidays, so players should expect to see snowflakes. The portrait event stands out for celebrating the new year with 2026 written on it, including a rabbit looking at the screen.
Of course, all of this isn’t enough. Come the new year, players can expect to see a handful of new year-exclusive asks on January 1. Additionally, the public map will also see a firework show to ensure that players enjoy 2026’s entry with a bang!
What is the limited-time Identity V Christmas mode?
Announced on Christmas Eve, the limited-time Christmas-themed mode is available for a week and can be played from the matchmaking screen. This 1v4 mode works the same as any regular mode. The single exception is what happens 15 seconds into a match. A special Christmas character appears on the screen while riding a reindeer sleigh in the sky.
The character you can expect is one of the following every time:
Evil Reptilian
Gamekeeper
Hell Ember
As for what the special character will do, they’ll fly to each player and toss down Christmas gifts nearby. Players can pick up these gifts to get a temporary special seasonal skill, which ranges from survivors getting the ability to make large leaps that they otherwise couldn’t, or even giving hunters the ability to pull a target close to them.
Staying on the topic of Christmas, players also have the 2025 Christmas event, Winter Wishes, to participate in. This allows players to choose between a free B-tier costume for the Puppeteer or the Composer, spreading holiday cheer and giving players more options for the character they want to dress up. If this wasn’t enough, players can also get the A-tier Frosty furniture to add more holiday finesse in the game.
What Identity V skins and collaborations can players expect around the new year?
As expected, the players will also see a bunch of collaborations and costumes around New Year's time. The first one is the Deduction Star Costume for “Nightmare” that players can get from the shop starting December 25. With his half-mask and exposed face pairing perfectly with his long and sharp claws, it’s an excellent costume to get for those who don’t want to get in the holiday feel, and instead want to keep the Halloween spook going.
Speaking of the Deduction Star series, the A-tier Femme Fatale costume for the Dream Witch will be available in the item shop on December 31. While not as impressive as the other skin in the series, this costume gives the character an extremely eerie look that perfectly complements Identity V’s overall vibe. The A-tier Werther costume for the Lawyer will also come to the item shop on the same day. This costume will give the lawyer, Mr. Riley, a more Sherlock Holmes-esque vibe that many players will likely love.
The A-tier Trembling Chord costume for the Prisoner will come to the game on January 1, 2026. Unlike the others, this will be obtainable with Golden Apples and Fragments, giving you a chance to use your excess currency. For more fans of esports, the Seer's Package will come on the same day and will include the A-tier BLK. ELI costume for the Seer, as well as the S-tier Hearts Aligned accessory for the same character.
