Everything New in Valorant Patch 12.08

intro-pic

The main highlight of Valorant patch 12.08 is the return of Skirmish mode, but with a higher risk. As the fans asked the Devs to add a rank mode to it, the Devs certainly listened to the feedback. The rank mode of Skirmish is called Skirmish: Ascension, where players can play matches of 1v1 and 2v2, and earn points to climb the rank. Another great highlight of patch 12.08 is the Kuronami 2.0 bundle. Players can get the elevated version of Kurnomai skins for Phantom, Operator, Ghost, and Guardian. Moreover, a Kunai that turns into a Katana as a knife skin. Honestly, a worthy bundle. Moreover, Ascent map returns to competitive and deathmatch queues, allowing players to return to the goated map for their rank and warm-up matches. If you are in need of Valorant top ups, LootBar offers competitive prices for them.

What is Skirmish: Ascension Game Mode

Skirmish Ascension Game Mode

Skirmish: Ascension is a newly added game mode to Valorant, which raises the stakes from the original Skirmish mode. It is everything and more of the original mode. Players compete to win due to the addition of the ranking system. The way the rank system for Skirmish: Ascension works is that players have to first sign up to FTW (For The Win platform) and connect their Riot Games account. Once done, players can play the placement matches to reveal their rank in Skirmish: Ascension and continue to climb the leaderboard. The rank leaderboard is different for both 1v1 and 2v2 match queues.

Now, let’s talk about how it is different from the original Skirmish mode. Skirmish: Ascension includes selective weapons instead of the full arsenal. The match contains three stages, and each stage includes only two usable weapons for all players. First stage includes Bandit and Sheriff, second stage includes Bulldog and Guardian, and third stage includes Vandal and Phantom. In addition to this, there are also selective agents, because each agent gets 1 ability from their skills. The player has access to 1 skill of the agent per round, so utilizing the skill precisely is all it takes to make a great impact. However, one wrong move can lose you the round.

When Does Skirmish: Ascension Game Mode End

Skirmish: Ascension game mode is not a permanent addition to Valorant. It is a limited-time game mode available until June 22, 2026. There is still more than a month left for this mode before it goes away. If you are someone who wants to prove their skill in Skirmish: Ascension, now is the best time. Climb the rank leaderboards with impressive performance in 1v1 and 2v2 match queues.

All Map Pool Changes

All Map Pool Changes

In addition to a new game mode, Valorant has once again made a map pool change for the new Act. The map pool change for this act only includes one swap. The Ascent map is now available for competitive and deathmatch queues. However, the Bind map is out of the competitive and deathmatch queues. The Ascent has been one of the most popular maps since its launch. It is best to practice all your strategies in Ascent, as it may be the next map in your competitive game.

Premier Returns to Valorant

Premier is back to Valorant, introducing Stage V26A3. This is the perfect time for you and your team to compete and qualify for playoff tournaments. The current stage has only 6 weeks of matches, running from May 9 to June 13. After that, the playoffs take place on June 20. There is still time to prove the worth of your team in the Premier.

Conclusion

Valorant patch 12.08 is one of the most content-rich updates, bringing a new ranked game mode with the Ascent map and Premier mode returning. Moreover, introducing the new 2.0 variant of the Kuronami bundle with the skin line for Phantom, Operator, Ghost, Guardian, and Knife. The knife is very unique, as it turns from a Kunai to a Katana. Last but not least, a bunch of bug fixes across the platforms for players to have a smoother experience during their matches. Looking for a Valorant top up, then LootBar can hook you up with some of the great prices in the market.
