What Does Rerolling in Arknights Mean?
Like in most gacha games, rerolling means resetting your account over and over until you get a specific Operator you're targeting. Usually, that means getting a top-tier 6-star early on - or sometimes getting two or more good units in one multi.
The problem is, Arknights doesn't really make rerolling fast or easy. There's no built-in reroll button, and you'll have to clear a few tutorial missions before you get your hands on the premium currency.
You'll be able to roll on the Beginner Headhunting banner, which gives you a guaranteed 6-star in the first 10 pulls. You also get a guaranteed 5-star as part of the same set. The pool for this banner is fixed - it includes Operators like SilverAsh, Shining, and Ifrit, but not limited’s or newer banners.
The good thing is that you can use guest login to reroll fairly easily on mobile, and you don't need a fresh email each time. But if you're on PC, or want to bind to a permanent account, you'll need a bit more effort to reset.
What's the Best Operator to Reroll For?
This depends heavily on what's available at the time. The beginner banner is limited to certain early-game 6-stars, so if you're rerolling there, then SilverAsh is widely considered the top pick.
He's a strong DPS with global range on Skill 3, which just shreds through content. Ifrit and Shining are also solid - but more niche. If you're aiming for long-term value, SilverAsh gives you great returns for early and mid-game alike.
However - if there's a limited banner up when you start the game, that changes things completely. You can skip the beginner banner entirely and reroll for the limited 6-star if that's what you want.
Operators like Ch'en the Holungday, Limited Skadi, Ling, or Specter the Unchained offer extremely strong and unique kits that stay relevant long-term. Limited banners sometimes offer free pulls. If the timing’s right, you can use those to try for a limited unit early - but you’ll usually pick one banner per reroll attempt due to limited currency.
Just know that rerolling for a specific limited 6-star is way harder than targeting something off the beginner banner. You can make this journey smoother if you top up Arknights.
Does Arknights Have a Spark or Pity System?
Yes and no - this part confuses a lot of players, so let's break it down properly.
Every Headhunting banner in Arknights has a soft pity system. You're guaranteed a 5-star within 10 pulls, and the rate for pulling a 6-star begins to increase after 50 pulls without one. By 99 pulls, you're guaranteed a 6-star. But here's the catch - the counter resets the moment you pull a 6-star, and it doesn't carry over between most banners.
The only banners that share a pull count are standard banners and their own type. Limited banners do not share pity with standard banners. Kernel banners, which are relatively new, also track their own spark counter separately.
Now here's the important part - limited banners have a spark system that gives you one Headhunting Data Contract per pull. If you reach 300 pulls on a limited banner, you can use those 300 contracts to directly purchase one of the rate-up 6-star Operators from that banner.
This is what most people refer to when they talk about the spark system - it's a 300-pull guarantee on limited banners.
To make things better, some limited banners also give you a free copy of the main limited Operator at 300 pulls - without even spending your contracts. On rerun banners, the oldest limited unit may be available at 200 pulls instead of 300 - a small bonus for returning players.
So yes - the pity and spark system does exist, but it's not as generous or visible as in other games, and it's tied specifically to banner type.
How Many Pulls Do You Get as a New Player?
You'll usually get enough for 20 to 30 pulls when starting out, plus your guaranteed 6-star from the beginner banner.
There are also free multi tickets sometimes handed out during events. If there's a major celebration like anniversary or collab going on when you start, you might even get more than 40 pulls to work with.
Make sure to do mission rewards and daily quests to speed up your Orundum income - and don't forget to check the Public Recruitment for early useful 3- and 4-stars.
How to Reroll Fast and Efficiently?
If you're going to reroll more than a few times, use guest login. Do the bare minimum to unlock pulls. Skip all cutscenes, and stick to fast clearing with auto-deployed teams where possible.
Set up a base image or snapshot so you don't have to repeat the same steps every time, and always check your pull results before binding to an account.
Make sure to bind with a trusted email or Yostar account only after you get your desired Operators - or you'll have to send a request to unlink later, which is a pain.
Is Rerolling in Arknights Worth It?
That’s entirely up to your goals.
If you're a casual player or not aiming to min-max, then honestly - you can play Arknights without ever rerolling and still clear almost everything. The game gives you powerful free Operators like Amiya, Liskarm, Perfumer, Kroos, and Melantha that carry early content.
But if you're planning to stick with the game long-term, or play on higher difficulties later - like Contingency Contract or Integrated Strategies - then starting with a strong 6-star or limited DPS makes a huge difference.
It also helps to have strong synergy early - like SilverAsh plus Myrtle, or a good AoE caster paired with early healing supports.
Just don't overdo it. Spending hours rerolling for a tiny percent boost isn't worth it if it burns you out before you even get to Chapter 1.
