What Cards You Need to Build Jolteon ex Deck
Before telling you the build, we’d like to mention a thing or two about the card itself. As we mentioned before, the card is generally strong. Its attack, Mach Bolt, can easily 2HKO many ex Pokemons. What’s more interesting is that you can basically spam this attack as it’s not expensive at all to unleash. Additionally, you can Mega Rising Eevee, cards that are pretty common to find, to evolve it into Jolteon ex. This can open a great opportunity for an attack in the first turns of the battle. However, like any other card in the Pokemon TCG Pocket, it is not perfect. Although Jolteon ex is powerful, especially at the beginning phase, it doesn’t have a high health pool. Strategy Breakdown
The main focus here is, of course, the Jolteon ex itself. When the card is on an Active Spot, it will automatically deal 20 damage each time they attach an Energy to their Pokemons. This way, you have passive chip damage that will eventually reduce their health. During this time, enemies will go all out to delete your Jolteon ex from existence. When it comes to passive damage, you can depend on Jolteon ex. The process of summoning is also easy, because there’s a new Eevee (Mega Rising) that has the Boosted Evolution ability. This will make it evolve into Jolteon ex instantly, even before your enemy starts their first turn.
Combining the passive chip damage and its skill, Mach Bolt, for 80 damage, Jolteon ex can easily wipe out any cards in the beginning phases. Now, you’re not right if you depend on this card alone. To be able to work effectively,you need a few useful cards you’ll have to collect; one of them is Zeraora. This Pokemon works as an early game Pokemon to make some energy buildups for your Jolteon ex later, all thanks to Thunderclap Flash. Oricorio is also not less useful, because it may present good cover with its Safeguard. This ability negates all ex Pokemons’ attacks, effectively keeping your enemies on their toes. It’s great for stalling enemies while you are shuffling your cards to summon Eeve or Jolteon ex cards.

Although it has a high Energy requirement to unleash powerful attacks, its Thunderbolt can deliver finishing blows to enemies that have already been suffering from Jolteon’s chip damage.

How to Counter Jolteon ex Deck
Seeing how strong this deck can be, it’s only natural to find many people using it during competitive matches. It may be tricky to counter Jolteon ex deck, but it’s still doable. The first strategy is using Sabrina to send Jolteon ex to the bench. If you have multiple Sabrina cards, make sure to use them at the perfect times when Jolteon ex is preparing for an attack.
To deal some damage to Jolteon ex, you can use Pokemons with low Attack costs, like Rampardos or Donphan ex. Doing this will render the Electromagnetic Wall ineffective, since these Pokemons don’t require additional Energy to attach.
