What are Heroes & Alliances?
Heroes are characters that come with special abilities, and these abilities affect how your shelter will operate. Every hero has their own unique abilities; some may help in production, others may be more suited to combat. If you are a new player, then collecting heroes can be a valuable asset and boost your gameplay. These heroes are recruited through gems, and collecting them can be quite a hassle for beginners, so top up them from reliable source to skip the grind.
Alliances, on the other hand, can be defined as a group of players who team up to defend themselves against various threats and rivals. The members of an Alliance also share their resources and can earn more rewards, as some special events require the player to be a part of an Alliance.
Recruiting Heroes
Heroes are a must for the challenges that the game throws at you. The stronger your hero, the easier it is to counter the enemies in the game. A recruitment system is present in the game that allows you to pull the heroes you want. Various heroes are classified under several categories; the rarest ones are the best, but their drop rates are also low. It is essential to know that Heroes and regular survivors are NOT the same.
There are 3 kinds of banners that facilitate the recruitment of Heroes, and each banner has different hero varieties, drop rates, and uses different currencies.
1. Standard Recruitment
This banner offers standard pulls, and those are best for gathering fragments and other small upgrades. The Standard Banner does not have any pity system, and the heroes offered here are of low tier. And since the heroes are of low tier, their drop rates are also high. The currency used in this banner is Standard Recruitment Token and is different from the other two banners.
This banner can be easily accessed through the Hero Precinct. Once you find a character you like, you can spend your tickets to pull for them, although it is recommended to pull on the other two banners as they provide better & stronger heroes.
2. Advanced Recruitment
Also known as Premium Recruitment, the advanced recruitment system does indeed offer high-tiered heroes, but there is a catch. It has a pity system, which means that the SSR tier characters are guaranteed within a number of pulls that has already been set. The currency used in this recruitment is Advance Recruitment Token.
This banner can also be accessed through the Hero Precinct. Once you have the required number of Scrolls, you can pull for the Hero you want on its banner. Since the heroes featured here belong to the top tiers, their drop rates are also quite low.
3. Limited Recruitment
This system is also called “Targeted Recruitment” as it focuses on a specific or targeted hero. These banners rotate often, and the heroes featured in these are the most demanded and the strongest ones. The heroes offered in these limited banners are exclusive and are usually only available for a limited time. The currency used in this recruitment is Limited Recruitment Shards.
Banners of limited recruitment can also be opened through the Hero Precinct. It is recommended to wait for the banners you want and then do the pulls in batches, as it is considered to increase the value much further.
Forming Alliances
Along with survival, Tiles Survive also offers a way for its players to socialize and cooperate with other players. This is done through guilds or, as most know them, Alliances. When faced with infected hordes and venomous rivals, Alliances help in uniting the strength of the team and channeling it into collective power, giving way to victory. A player can either join an already existing alliance or create one of his own.
Creating an Alliance
Players also have the option of creating an Alliance, and this option is available just beside the “Join” button. To create one, you will first be asked to enter the Alliance’s name along with its tag. The banner and language of your alliance are also customizable. Creating an Alliance requires 400 gems.
Creating an Alliance is optimal for players who want full leadership and require the team to play according to their style. Although this is not recommended for beginners because the resources involved are difficult to collect, seasoned players can go for it.
In case the new players want to create an Alliance, they would need the required gems, which are earned by progressing in-game. This can be quite a lengthy process, but not so hard as there are Tiles Survive Waypoints, which help boost your gameplay and allow more rewards than any other resource in-game.
Joining an Alliance
To join an Alliance, the players need to have the Alliance Option unlocked. For this option to be unlocked, the player needs to level up their power plant to Level 8. Once the “Alliance” has been unlocked, you will be presented with various Alliances from all over the world. The player can directly join the Open Alliances, but some Alliances require applying first. There is also an option to quickly join an Alliance.
Joining an Alliance for the first time will reward you with 200 gems. It is recommended to check the activity levels of the Alliance before joining, as being a part of an idle Alliance is worse than being a part of none.
