Different Kinds of Troops in Kingshot
There are mainly 3 types of troops you will use: Infantry, Cavalry, and Archers in the game. These are stats and mechanics of each troop:
1.Infantry
Infantry is what you can call a tank. They excel in soaking up damage and playing as the frontline of your army of troops, creating a layer of protective shield for the team. Their stats include High HP/Health, High Defense, Slow movement speed, and low Damage capability. They have two abilities:
Master Brawler: Deal 10% increased damage to Cavalry.

2.Cavalry

Ambusher: Gives 20% chance to bypass the Infantry to attack the Archers directly.
3.Archers
Archers are the main damage-dealing troop with High Damage Output but have Lower Defense, Lower base HP/Health, and Slower Movement Speed. They stay at the last of the formation due to their low defense and HP stats, and use their long range to deal massive DPS to the enemies. The two abilities of Archers are:

Same formation for every game: Using the same formation for all purposes, be it attack, defense, or bear traps. Ignoring optimization of the formation and constantly changing to gain the advantage over the enemy is a common mistake that players make.
Ignoring enemy troop types before battle: Not scouting the enemy can be a loss by your own hands. Scouting will give you the pre-fight knowledge about the enemy's troop composition, using which you can modify your own troops to counter theirs.

Troop Formation
Troop formation means for your total amount of troop space, what percentage of what troops are you using to fill it up. Here are some formations you can use according to your purpose.
1.For Ralleying: 5/2/3
The 5 is for Infantry, 2 for Cavalry, and 3 for Archer. It means for a capacity of 10, you are using 5 Infantry, 2 cavalry, and 3 Archers in your army. The Infantry are more suited to tank the damage, Cavalry to bypass the frontline, while the archers would deal damage to the enemy unit.
2.For Garrisoning: 7/3/0
The 7 is for Infantry, 3 for Cavalry, and 0 for Archers. It means for a capacity of 10, you are using 7 Infantry, 3 cavalry, and 0 Archers in your army. While on the defense, you would like your army to be high on HP to soak up as much damage as possible. The archers are squishy, and if the enemy line-up has a higher cavalry number, they can bypass our wall to target the archers.
3.For Pitfall/Bear Hunt: 1/1/8
The 1 is for Infantry, 1 for Cavalry, and 8 for Archers. It means for a capacity of 10, you are using 1 Infantry, 1 cavalry, and 8 Archers in your army. Depending on the Bear Hunt’s mechanism, taking a lot of Archers would be the better choice because they deal the most damage among your troops. In the Bear hunt, the way to get points depends on how much lethality you can deal.
4.For Alliance Championship: 5/2/3
The 5 is for Infantry, 2 for Cavalry, and 3 for Archer. It means for a capacity of 10, you are using 5 Infantry, 2 cavalry, and 3 Archers in your army. It is the most optimal formation for Alliance Championship because it balances things out with 50% of high HP infantry, and 30% of Archers in your army.
