In DC: Dark Legion, success ultimately depends on the strength of your squad. A strong team carries you through every mode, every event, every challenge. A weak one? You’ll hit a wall no matter how carefully you spend resources. For players who aren’t dropping serious money into the game, the winning formula isn’t chasing every new Mythic+ release. The smarter play is restraint—skip as many limited heroes as you can, build up a mountain of anvils, and then unload them on the heroes that actually matter. That’s how you reach endgame strength without emptying your wallet.
The good news? With banner reruns confirmed back on August 22nd, both fresh accounts and veteran players have the same shot at stockpiling for the right heroes. If you play it patiently, you’ll be able to put together the most effective lineup the game currently offers.
You’ll remain competitive against opponents with higher overall power as long as you’ve invested smartly, and the smartest way to spend, is to maximize your money’s worth though LootBar.

The team that Rules F2P
There are plenty of powerful lineups in the game, but if you’re playing without a big budget, you need more than raw strength.
1.Versatility.
As a F2P/Low-Spender player, you don’t have the luxury of spreading resources across multiple squads. You need one team that can handle everything—PvP, PvE, events, you name it. That’s exactly where SuperFam shines. From PvP showdowns PvE grinds, they crush it everywhere.
2.Accessibility.
A good F2P team shouldn’t demand maxed-out red stars to perform. SuperFam still pulls its weight even if your heroes sit at mid-level gold or high purple stars.
3. F2P-Friendly Bleed Schedule.
Timing is everything. For a team to be realistic for F2P players, the banners need to give you enough breathing room to farm anvils. SuperFam nails this perfectly. Supergirl and Superboy arrive as the 9th and 10th bleed characters, followed by Superman’s rerun. That gives you a four-month window to stockpile enough anvils to push them to purple or gold stars—an enormous advantage that can put you at the very top bracket of your server.
Krypton Energy: The Core of SuperFam
The secret sauce of this team lies in Krypton Energy. Every time a SuperFam hero fires off their ultimate, the squad earns a Krypton Energy point. Stack enough, and your Krypton Energy level climbs from 0 to 3, each tier unlocking stronger effects, as shown in the picture above.
Krypto is the key here. Depending on his star level, his ultimate can generate anywhere from 2 to 10 points at once. and when Krypto falls in battle, that energy-generation effect passes on to another SuperFam member.
The roles within the team balance beautifully:
· Supergirl→ Your core damage dealer, capable of becoming an unstoppable force when fully developed.
· Superman → Frontline tank, soaking hits so Kara can do her work.
· Superboy → Provides essential ATK boosts, ensuring Kara hits even harder.
· Krypto → Utility support, bolstering survivability while fueling Krypton Energy growth.
Both Superman and Superboy also reduce enemy Physical Defense, multiplying Kara’s destructive potential.
Building the SuperFam (Hero by Hero)
1. Supergirl (Kara)
· Stars: Aim for at least 3 purple. She’s the team’s damage dealer, so holding back here kneecaps your whole squad.
· Legacy Piece: House of El Symbol. Mandatory. It boosts her damage, adds shields, and increases HP. Don’t skip this.
· Force Upgrades: Prioritize Physical PEN and Crit Rate (her ult gets 50% crit rate at Krypton Lv.1). Max ATK% nodes too.
· Transmutes: Physical PEN + Crit Rate first, then ATK%.
2. Superboy
· Stars: Strong from as early as 2 blue stars, thanks to his naturally high base ATK.
· Legacy Piece: Super Six-String. Second only to Kara’s Legacy, and the team-wide damage boost is game-changing.
· Force Upgrades: Max Energy Gain first—he must ult before Kara so she benefits from his ATK buff. Then ATK% nodes.
· Transmutes: Energy Gain > ATK%. Absolutely critical in PvP to keep Kara immune to debuffs like stuns as Superboy’s Ultimate also gives 1 debuff immunity.
3. Krypto
· Stars: Starts being great at 5 blue stars or higher (5 gold is his sweet spot). His ult generates more energy as he upgrades his 5th star.
· Legacy Piece: Early on, use Flash-Bulb Kite for faster ultimates (great for PvP). Later, Purple Ray Radiation if you’ve got it at high stars.
· Force Upgrades: Focus on Energy Gain first, then Physical + Spiritual Defense (he shares 15% of his defense stats with his team).
· Transmutes: Energy Gain again, plus physical & spiritual defenses.
4. Superman
· Stars: Viable from purple stars, but can be skipped if anvils are tight. He’s Very Useful, but not irreplaceable.
· Legacy Piece: His cape is decent, but not mandatory. Toss him any tank legacy (e.g., Modoran Sonic Bom) or even a spare ATK legacy.
· Force Upgrades: Stack HP; his job is to tank damage.
· Transmutes: HP + Defense, with a touch of ATK if you want him to contribute damage.
5. Flex Slot
Since SuperFam is composed of only four heroes, you can add a fifth to round out the team. Pick a survivability piece (like Shazam) or a damage booster depending on the fight.
Best Team Presets & Positioning
Depending on mode and star levels, different SuperFam builds excel:
1. Combat Cycle v1 – For bosses with lower damage (e.g., Red De*th).
2. Combat Cycle v2 – If you’ve skipped Superman.
3. Combat Cycle v3 – For high-damage bosses where sustain is critical. (e.g., The Merciless).
4. F2P Meta Brawl v1 – Superman skipped; sub in Shazam vs joker/single target enemies or Fate vs AOE damage dealers.
5. F2P Meta Brawl v2 – Protects a weaker Kara (under gold stars) and gives her time to dish out enough damage.
6. Spender Meta Brawl v1 – An ideal lineup for players with a well-built Gold Supergirl. Her ability to absorb incoming damage not only keeps the team safe but also accelerates energy gain, allowing her to unleash her ultimate before anyone else.
You won’t have to skip the strong heroes if you maximize your anvil gains using DC: Dark Legion Top Up’s great discounts on LootBar.
Final Thoughts
A properly built, gold-star SuperFam can out-damage every other gold-star team in the game—even the mighty Justice League Dark. The best part? You don’t need to be a whale to do it. With the rerun schedule giving months to stockpile anvils, both new and veteran players have a clear path to assembling this squad. Build them right, and you’ll find yourself standing toe-to-toe with some of the strongest rosters on your server.
