The good news is that difficulty-based challenges stack. This means that completing the game on a greater difficulty also unlocks the challenges related to completing it on lower-level difficulties.
As for when the entire challenge list unlocks, you can see the requirements of every challenge in Resident Evil Requiem after completing the main story once.
How to complete the final puzzle in Resident Evil Requiem
While the details of every challenge are fairly straightforward, the final puzzle is an exception. This one requires players to do a bunch of extremely specific things that took even the most veteran players some days to solve. This challenge is required to 100% the game, and it also gives a nice reward of 20,000 CP, which is more than any other challenge in the game.
Just follow the steps below to complete the final puzzle in Resident Evil Requiem:
Reach the Processing Room in Rhodes Hill and wait around 15 minutes while zombies fall into the blood pool
Drain the pool and make sure every zombie in that area dies using the grinder instead of regular weapons
Later in the game, flush the West Wing restroom toilet eight times
Progress until the Collection & Testing area explodes, then pick up Marie’s Doll near the staircase
Store Marie’s Doll in the item box and finish the game normally
Start another playthrough and retrieve Marie’s Doll from storage
Obtain the Severed Hand and solve its blood analyzer puzzle to get the hidden code
Take Emily and Marie’s Doll to the Lead Researcher’s Office instead of completing the normal final sequence
Trigger the hidden interaction to “let the sweet pair hear the voice,” which unlocks the challenge
Missing even one requirement will stop this puzzle from working correctly. Because of this, it’s recommended to make separate save files during the process, ensuring you can just reload to a prior file if something goes wrong.
Some tips to complete every challenge in Resident Evil Requiem
Completing every challenge in Resident Evil Requiem likely won’t be too tough, especially since it’s easier compared to most other games in the series. Still, a handful of tips can help make the process so much easier:
Learn the fastest routes and skip unnecessary fights to complete the Speed Demon challenge
Don’t try to complete contradicting challenges in the same run. For example, you can’t get all collectibles if you’re speedrunning
Try to master mechanics such as parrying and resource management to make greater difficulty runs much easier
If a challenge seems tough, just wait until you unlock better weapons before tackling it again
Ensure that the first run is completely blind so that you can make the most out of it
It’s recommended to go into the game completely blind when you buy a Resident Evil Requiem Steam key. This is because the first run is always the best. It’ll be a shame if you already know all of the surprises.
Conclusion
Challenges bring some much-needed replayability to the already short main story of Resident Evil Requiem. Just don’t be surprised if you have to go through the game a couple of times to complete every challenge, especially since some of them directly contradict each other and can’t be tackled in the same save.
