Explaining The Rally Restriction Mechanic in Dark War Survival
Rally Restriction allows the person starting the rally to ask Alliance members for only a specific type of troop. Heroes and troops are divided into three factions in the game, which are Shooters, Fighters, and Riders. So, while setting up a rally, you can ask your Alliance members to only send troops that belong to the Shooter faction, or any of the other two specifically. This can be great for players that S-Rank heroes that provide boosts to all troops with the same faction.
For example, Shadow is an S-Tier Shooter hero that released in Season 5. As part of her skills when you level him up, he gives an HP and damage boost to all other Shooters in the troops. If you have him and other high level Shooter heroes leading your troops, while all Alliance members also send Shooter troops, every single player will contribute to a huge increase in damage. This seriously boosts your chances of successfully clearing a rally because of the high HP and damage boost from everyone using the exact same type of faction.
In other words, Rally Restriction makes it easier to coordinate while sending troops out for rallies so you and your Alliance members can deal more damage. But, the name for this feature isn’t entirely accurate. Despite being called Rally “Restriction”, it’s actually much more of a suggestion. Say for example, that you ask your Alliance members for only Rider heroes through the Rally Restriction mechanic. Despite that request, they’re still free to send out Shooters or Fighters if they want to.
So just because you asked for a specific type of troop doesn’t mean you’ll always get it, since your Alliance members could still choose not to listen to you. It’s confusing why the devs would allow this, since it would be a lot more convenient to actually restrict the factions depending on what’s needed. But still, it’s a lot better than nothing, and any decent Alliance will be able to use this new feature to its full potential if they pay attention to what’s needed.
When Is The Rally Restriction Mechanic Most Useful?
Any good Alliance already wins most PvE rallies anyway. So, what makes the new Rally Restriction so useful? The main answer is events. Any kind of event that has rewards based on damage are much easier to obtain thanks to this mechanic, like the ongoing Bio-Mutant rallies. These events have a leaderboard for Alliances that dealt the most damage to enemies during the rally, and offer rewards depending on your placement.
If you coordinate with others through the Rally Restriction method, and all of you use the type of troops that are best suited to your specific Alliance, then you can deal almost double or even triple the damage you usually would. This could help you finish in the top position across your specific State and get insanely good rewards to upgrade your troops and settlements even further.
You can only do so much damage if you don’t have strong troops though. At the end of the day, you still need high level and high rank heroes to make this work. If you don’t have any, then you can get Dark War Survival packs and even rubies through LootBar to unlock better heroes, as well as upgrade your troops quicker for cheap. Once you have a few S-Rank heroes and a good Alliance to coordinate rallies with, you should be able to compete in the leaderboards during events while doing millions of damage during rallies.
Conclusion
The Rally Restriction mechanic is a near perfect change to rallies, other than one thing. The developers just need to make it so that other Alliance members are forced to send the type of faction requested. Even in its current state though, this feature is already great and being used by so many Alliances to increase their damage output, so you need to start using it ASAP too. And increase your chances of topping leaderboards even more for cheap if you top up Dark War Survival rubies through LootBar to get any upgrades in the game.
