Revavroom Rarity and Effects

Revavroom

As mentioned before, Revavroom is a Metal-type Pokémon. It’s great news for players who focus on building Metal decks, as this new addition holds something special. In order to be functional, you’ll have to evolve it from Varoom. Fortunately, it doesn’t require any other evolution. Looking at the statistics, Revavroom is a bit durable with its 110 HP. It’s not that big when compared to the big leagues, like Gengar or Charizard X, but it’s still worth something. This card has 3-diamond rarity and is weak against the Fire element.

Revavroom has two abilities, one offensive and the other a unique ability. For the offensive, this Pokémon can unleash Outta-Control Dash that can deal 60 DMG. While it’s not that special, what people are looking for is its special ability called Metal Transport. This ability makes it possible to switch a Metal-type Pokémon from active to bench per turn for free. Yes, you can spam it for free. This is the main reason why Revavroom harmonizes well with another stronger Metal Pokémon, Mega Scizor EX. We will tell you about this combination later in this article.

Since its main use is better for support, you wouldn’t rely much on its offensive skill. 60 DMG is not that amazing, even for a second attacker. With that said, it’s recommended to put Revavroom on the bench to activate its unique ability over and over again. This is important if you’re planning to build a Mega Scizor EX deck.

How to Get Revavroom

Another thing that we want to tell you in this Revavroom Deck Guide is that it’s not that hard to get Revavroom. This Pokémon can be obtained through crafting by spending only 150 Pack Points. To get these points, you’ll have to open more Mega Shine booster packs. Since these packs have great cards to collect (especially Mega Scizor EX and Mega Charizard X EX), it wouldn’t feel like grinding at all.

If you don’t have points but have a lot of Shinedust, you can also obtain Revavroom through trading. You’ll need 1,200 Shinedust to get this 3-Diamond Pokémon. Do note that you can only trade it with the cards of the same rarity.

Evolution from Varoom

Varoom

To be functional, you’ll need to evolve Varoom, a basic Pokémon. Varoom is 1-Diamond rarity Pokémon card that can be obtained from the Shiny Charizard pack. To be specific, it’s included in the Shining Revelry set. If you want to build a Revavroom deck, it’s always better to have some basic evolution to speed things up. That’s why if you still don’t have it, you can always depend on Lootbar

Aside from the Shiny Charizard pack, Varoom is also obtainable through crafting. You’ll only be required to spend 35 Pack Points, which is really affordable. Getting at least two Varoom is highly recommended for both Revavroom and Mega Scizor EX decks.

Types of Revavroom Cards

Revavroom IR

There are some types of Revavroom cards you can get from Pokémon TCG Pocket, and they only differ in rarity. The first one (A2b 056) is probably the most common one players can get, which is the 3-Diamond rarity Pokémon that can be obtained from the Mega Shine Pack - Mega Gengar. This card is decorated in white metallic color that resembles its element. Other than that, the card has mostly basic visuals.

Another Revavroom you can get is the Illustration Rare one coded B2b 074. This one is a 1-Star rarity card that’s also obtainable from  Mega Shine Pack - Mega Gengar. The card has the same attributes and abilities, but differs in the visuals. The card’s illustration with Revavroom speeding up with purplish smoke around it is something else. Seeing how rare this card is, it’s understandable that many players have a desire to obtain it.

But don’t worry, you can get the card in many ways. Aside from the pack, this rare Revavroom card is also obtainable through crafting. You will need 400 Pack Points to get one Revavroom IR. Another way to get it is from trading 4,000 Shinedust and cards of the same rarity.

Another one is Revavroom with Spinning Drift ability. This deal 70 DMG plus dmg prevention if the coin flip results in head. This may work best for Mega Scizor EX preparation.

Combination with Mega Scizor ex

The main reason to obtain Revavroom is to get its unique ability, and the Pokémon that’s mostly suitable for it is none other than the Mega Scizor EX. The reason why it’s really important is that Revavroom can open the way for Mega Scizor EX to deal up to 150 DMG - an unbelievable amount of damage. The criteria are to move Mega Scizor EX from the bench to active. Each time you do it, its ability, Bullet Slugger, can deal 150 DMG. It will defeat any EX Pokémon, even the most durable ones, in about two turns. That’s why it’s crucial to have Revavroom around, so make sure you pack some if planning to build a Mega Scizor EX deck.

Other than Revavroom, surely other cards are also required, especially the ones that may provide easy retreat access, like Baby Pokémon.

Conclusion

So that's all there is to know about the Revavroom deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Both Revavroom and Mega Scizor EX are inseparable, so when building a Revavroom deck, you’ll eventually include Mega Scizor EX on the list. If you’re planning to focus on the meta, we highly recommend building this deck.
