The New Resistance System and How It Works
Virus Resistance is a part of the Miasma System, and necessary for seasonal battles and rallies. You can’t fight seasonal enemies without it. You can build up Virus Resistance in Dark War Survival by upgrading certain seasonal buildings. The more resistance you have, the safer you are.
Virus Resistance is also important for capturing other cities. You need a certain amount of Resistance to be able to attack another city depending on its level, starting with 1500 Virus Resistance for level 1 cities.
How To Build Virus Resistance
You can get more Virus Resistance by upgrading the new Oni Seal Hall seasonal building. Upgrades will require Stone, which is a seasonal resource you can get from objectives, activities, or even Weekly Passes. The Weekly Passes this in Dark War Survival Season 5 also offer 250 Virus Resistance with each purchase, so you can get those for a quick little boost in resistance.
The Miasma Virus System and Why It’s So Dangerous
You can catch the Miasma virus in your settlement by attacking seasonal enemies that have a higher Virus Resistance level than yours. The amount of stacks you get for this depend on how much stronger the enemy is compared to your current Virus Resistance level.
Miasma stacks aren’t permanent though. After a few hours, they go away on their own. Alliance members can even help each other heal up from these stacks faster, which is why being in a good Alliance can be a huge boost. Speaking of boosts, Dark War Survival offers players a light that they can turn on before attacking seasonal enemies.
The light offers some protection from Miasma infections. But, the light won’t be available if your shelter currently has a Miasma Stack of 40 or higher. There are also some other de-buffs that your settlement and troops will suffer from once Miasma Stacks get high enough.
Be Prepared For The Blood Moon Shroud
Blood Moon Shrouds occur at a set time every few hours. Once it occurs, every single shelter is immediately infected with at least 40 Miasma Stacks (on top of any stacks they already have). That means it’s impossible to use the light for protection during this time, and that your troops will suffer from guaranteed debuffs.
There will also be two new enemy types during this phase. The Blood Moon Rotting Oni and Blood Moon Booze Brute. They’re stronger variants of the regular Rotting Oni and Booze Brute. On top of that, it’s even harder to fight them because of de-buffs caused by the guaranteed 40 Miasma Stack. But, if you manage to beat these enemies, you’ll get nice rewards, including lots of Stone.
But, all actions during the Blood Moon Shroud will lead to even more stacks of Miasma, so be careful. You will get Miasma Stacks for fighting Blood Moon enemies, require more virus resistance than usual to avoid infection from regular enemies, and face other hurdles.
Spreading The Virus, and Miasma Rewards
Once your own stacks reach 100, there will be an explosion around your shelter and it will disappear from the map. The game will randomly spawn your shelter in a different area, and all shelters that were previously around you will get 25 stacks of Miasma as a result of the explosion.
This is important for an achievement that gives rewards if you can spread 500 stacks of the Miasma Virus to other players. There are also other rewards for achievements related to the Miasma Virus, which you can see in the Miasma menu. These offer seasonal rewards and even recruitment tickets.
