A new season means new team-ups in Marvel Rivals, and Season 5 has quite a few of them! Most of the new team-ups this season are pretty cool and usable. There’s nothing overly meta like Hela and Namor’s squids (thankfully), butthere are some other pretty cool team-ups, including one for Black Widow that completely changes her character.

Every New Team Up in Season 5 of Marvel Rivals
Explosive Entanglement (Gambit + Magneto)
Gambit anchors with a 5% healing boost that makes his whole hybrid kit of damage and healing even stronger for the team. Magneto swaps out his regular primary fire for Royal Blade, where he spawns a greatsword charged up with Gambit's kinetic energy, launches it straight at enemies to explode on the first hit, and then it releases a bunch of unstable energy for a second big blast after a short delay.
This turns into a killer mid-range tool that shreds through softer targets, so keep spamming it from flank spots to chunk down squishies while Gambit keeps your tanks topped off and healthy.
Blade of Khonshu (Moon Knight + Blade)
Moon Knight anchors and gets a solid 5% damage boost that pumps up his frenzy style even more, all while sharing the power of Khonshu. Blade unlocks Eclipse Edge, which lets him dash forward with a slashing combo that ends in a flurry of strikes, and every single hit in that flurry sends out a moon blade projectile that bounces and chains between nearby enemies to keep the pain spreading.
Again, it’s nothing game-breaking. But, this team-up is actually pretty useful since it gives Blade a whole extra dash of sorts. It’s good for extra damage and to keep combos going when Blade is at a full 10 charge.
Sword of Duality (Cloak & Dagger + Hawkeye)
Cloak & Dagger anchor, like they always do to keep their boost, and in return they give Hawkeye Moonlit Slash that upgrades his Crescent Slash into a piercing energy wave with infinite range. This wave flies through allies to heal and buff them up as it goes, while it hits enemies to damage them, apply anti-heal, and knock them back hard.
It sounds a lot better than it actually is. The added healing boost a bit of extra damage to his slash is nice and all, but it’s nothing compared to the amazing team-up he had with Luna before. It makes no difference to CnD players, but most Hawkeye players won’t be too thrilled with this one. Just continue using your slash like you normally would for the most part, unless a strategist pops a healing ult. In that case, try to aim the slash at some allies to give them bonus healing so they’re back in the fight even faster.
Primal Flame Adjustment (Phoenix + Wolverine / Black Widow)
Now, even though this isn’t the best new team-up (that likely goes to Gambit and Magneto’s), it’s arguably the most “interesting” team-up Marvel Rivals has EVER had. That’s because it adds Widow to the previously broke Pheonix + Wolverine team-up and turns her into a make-shift strategist! And not even a bad one to boot.
The team-up lets Black Widow shift to Pheonix Bullets at any time (the cool down for switching is only a couple of seconds!). Once she switches, she can fire her bullets at allies to heal them! And it’s not even slow healing either. Each bullet is an instant 90 healing, unironically making Widow a faster healer than most Strategists in the game! There’s not much to strategize about with this team-up. It simply turns Widow into a viable long-distance healer. Just aim at allies instead of enemies and let the team-up do the rest! And if you’re ever in a fight, switching back to her primary is instant.
Removed Team-Ups
Mental Projection (Emma Frost + Psylocke/Magneto):
Magneto is out, so he loses Magnetic Resonance that used to give telepathic shields and speed boosts. The Emma and Psylocke duo hangs on, but no more Magneto flexibility.
Chilling Assault (Luna Snow + Hawkeye/Iron Fist)
Hawkeye is gone from here, meaning he drops that infamous Ice Arrow for freezing shots. Now it's just Luna Snow and Iron Fist keeping it chilly.
Lunar Force (Cloak & Dagger + Moon Knight/Blade):
This one's fully removed. No more light and dark buffs for the Midnight Sons.
Operation: Microchip (Punisher + Black Widow)
Totally axed; Punisher loses his anchor bonus, and Black Widow is free to pair up with Phoenix instead.
These team-ups above are all tweaked or gone completely from the game with the introduction of Season 5. The biggest one is probably the Ice Arrow team-up with Luna Hawkeye players are definitely going to miss. But, other than that, nothing that important is gone. Speaking of gone, remember to grab the Season 5 battle pass or other things in shop for cheap before they go by getting them from LootBar!
Conclusion
A really cool “soft re-work” for Black Widow and a great team-up between Magneto and Gambit are the highlights for team-ups in Season 5 of Marvel Rivals. Top up Marvel Rivals Lattice through LootBar to use them in style with the new skins for Magneto and Gambit in shop!
