Neverness To Everness Gacha System Explained

Neverness To Everness, or NTE, is an urban open-world RPG created by Hotta Studio and Perfect World Games. One of its most discussed features is its unique gacha system. Unlike many anime-style gacha games that use a simple 50/50 system, NTE offers a board-game-style summoning system.Players roll dice, move around a board, and land on different reward tiles that give out characters, Arcs, currency, cosmetics, and other useful items. This makes the gacha more interactive compared to a standard banner system while still keeping familiar concepts like rarity, pity, limited banners, and premium currency. In this article, we’ll break down how NTE’s gacha system works, including its core mechanics, key features, and what makes it different from traditional gacha systems.

NTE Gacha Explanation & Types

  • Board System Overview

In Neverness to Everness, the main character banners are called Boards. Instead of just pressing a summon button to get one item, players roll Dice to move across a board filled with various reward spaces. Each roll moves the player’s piece, and the tile they land on determines the reward. Some tiles provide common rewards, while others may give higher-value rewards like A-rank items, S-rank characters, currency pieces, or special board bonuses.

  • Board Types and Pulling Systems

There are two main types of character Boards in NTE: Limited Board and Standard Board. The Limited Board is where players pull for time-limited S-rank characters. The Standard Board is the permanent banner for standard characters and beginner rewards. In addition, Arcs (which function as weapons or equipment) are obtained through a separate gacha system with its own banner.

And each system uses a different currency: Solid Dice are used for limited character banners, Fabricated Dice are for the standard banner, and Tri-Keys are for Arc pulls. Understanding which currency applies to each banner is essential for efficient resource management.

  • Board Tile Rewards

As players move across the board, they can land on various tiles, each offering different rewards:

All the possible tiles a player can land on
Hero ChestA chance to obtain a B-Rank Arc or an S-Rank character
Miracle BoxA random A-Rank Arc
Lost Check Box Get the corresponding amount of Lost Pieces that show up on the tile.
Warp Chess Box Get the corresponding amount of Warp Pieces that show up on the tile.
Journey TogetherGuaranteed to obtain the character in the current tile.
Apprentice Chest A chance to obtain a B-Rank Arc or an S-Rank character

Limited Board Rules

  • No 50/50 System

In Neverness To Everness, limited banners do not use a 50/50 system like Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail. When you obtain an S-rank character from a Limited Board, it is always the featured character, removing the risk of losing to a standard character.

  • Pity System and Drop Rates

The pity numbers are more consistent and predictable: 70 pulls Board Modification and 90 pulls for guaranteed S-Class character. After the Board modification, the chance to get the Rate-Up character becomes much higher, it functions as a soft pity system. The drop rates for each item in the banner are shown in the chart below.

Limited Banner Drop Rate
S-Rank Base rate0.99%
S-Rank After board change19.59%
S-Rank rate including guarantee1.87%
A-Rank Character drop rate11.67%
A-Rank Weapon drop rate11.31%
  • Special Dice

There is also a Special Dice system, this dice is only obtainable during a characters banner and only usable on that banner, after which the dice disappears.

Standard Board Rules

  • Standard Banner S-Rank Selector

The first 50 pulls on the Standard banner have a 20% discount, and after the 50 pulls, the player is given a choice of a free standard S-Rank.

  • Pity System and Drop Rates

The pity for the standard banner is the same as the limited banner, 70 pulls Board Modification and 90 pulls for guaranteed S-Class character. The drop rates for each item in the banner are shown in the chart below.

Standard Banner
S-Rank Base rate0.99%
S-Rank After board change19.59%
S-Rank rate including guarantee1.87%
A-Rank Character drop rate11.67%
A-Rank Weapon drop rate11.31%

Arc Banner Rules

  • How The Arc Banner Works

The Arc Research Program works differently from the character Limited Board. Instead of doing single pulls, players can only pull 10 Arcs at once.

  • Pity System and Drop Rates

The pity system for Arcs begins at 60 pulls, which equals six 10-pulls. At this point, players are guaranteed to receive an S-Rank Arc. However, the first guaranteed S-Rank Arc is not always guaranteed to be the featured limited Arc. When you reach the S-Rank guarantee, there is currently a 25% chance that the Arc you receive will be the limited signature Arc for the active featured character. If you do not receive the limited Arc at 60 pulls, the system gives you a second guarantee at 80 pulls for the featured weapon. The drop rates for each item in the banner are shown in the chart below.

Limited Banner Drop Rate
S-Rank Arc base drop rate3%
S-Rank rate including guarantee4.19%
A-Rank Arc drop rate7%
A-Rank drop rate including guarantee13.47%

FAQ

Does Neverness To Everness have a 50/50 system?

No, the Limited Board does not appear to use a traditional 50/50 system. In many gacha games, getting the highest-rarity character only gives you a chance to obtain the featured unit. In Neverness To Everness, when you obtain an S-Rank character from a Limited Board, it is guaranteed to be the featured limited character. This makes saving for banners much easier because players do not have to worry about losing to a standard character.

What is the maximum number of pulls needed to guarantee a limited S-Rank character?

Players need a maximum of 90 pulls to guarantee an S-Rank limited character on the Limited Board. The system also has Board Modification at around 70 pulls, which works like soft pity. After Board Modification begins, the chance of getting the rate-up S-Rank character becomes much higher.

When does pity start in Neverness To Everness?

For character banners, pity starts becoming more important at 70 pulls, when Board Modification begins. This increases the chance of getting an S-Rank character before reaching the hard pity. If you still do not get an S-Rank character, the game guarantees one at 90 pulls.

Does the Standard Board have the same pity as the Limited Board?

Yes, the Standard Board uses a similar pity structure. Board Modification starts at 70 pulls, and an S-Rank character is guaranteed at 90 pulls. However, the Standard Board includes standard characters rather than limited rate-up characters.

What are Arcs in Neverness To Everness?

Arcs are the weapons in Neverness To Everness. They are obtained separately from character banners through the Arc Research Program. Instead of Dice, Arc pulls use Tri-Keys, which can be earned through events, account progression, activities, and other rewards.

Is the Neverness To Everness gacha system beginner-friendly?

Compared to many other gacha games, the system is fairly beginner-friendly because the Limited Board does not use a traditional 50/50 loss system. The clear 90-pull character guarantee and 80-pull featured Arc guarantee make it easier for players to plan their resources and avoid wasting pulls.
