Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 5: New Monsters& Roadmap

As a result of being one of Capcom's biggest hunting game successes till date, Monster Hunter: Wilds has been closely monitored at every step for news regarding post-launch content features from its large user base. The question of whether there will be an update (Title Update 5) has received much community support and speculation and will likely continue throughout the remainder of Monster Hunter: Wilds' original content roadmap until Capcom officially announces it or fails to do so, as is common with those games across their many years of awesome gameplay support by the Monster Hunter series.

As previously stated, with Capcom maintaining such an incredible reputation for supporting all of their games post-launch (and Monster Hunter in particular) throughout this generation, many Monster Hunter: Wilds players continue to eagerly anticipate the eventual announcement of Title Update 5 for more than one reason - notably because there is no official statement or communication about when any future Title Updates will be available.

Where the Roadmap Stands

The February 2026 update for Monster Hunter: Wilds, otherwise referred to as Version 1.041, provides the last update to the base game. Those who purchased a Monster Hunter Wilds Steam key from LootBar at launch are likely anticipating ongoing content updates and this will allow for that natural progression.

Monster Hunter Wilds Roadmap 2026

The updates to the titles previously released have given the game a lot of new content. The first title update of 4 April 2025, brought to players the following monsters: Mizutsune, HR Zoh Shia, and Arch-Tempered Rey Dau. The second title update of 30 June 2025, introduced to players: Lagiacrus and Seregios. The third title update of 29 September 2025, gave users a Final Fantasy XIV collaboration and a new monster named Omega Planetes. The fourth title update of 16 December 2025, was the release of the first Elder Dragon and Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad, among other features.

Additionally, new seasonal events along with new event quests in some form have been introduced with every title update. These have served to keep the endgame loop engaging even in periods between significant content releases.

What the February 2026 Update Delivered

The Arch-Tempered Arkveld is in the February Update of 2026. You need to be HR 100 or higher to hunt this monster. If you defeat Arch-Tempered Arkveld, you will receive Arkveld Gamma armor with high Weakness Exploit and multiple Level 3 Slots. All players who used a LootBar game key will have returned to the game with rewards as well.

A new Side Quest, Love For A Hero was added that features Support Hunter Nadia and culminates in a solo hunt against a Tempered Gore Magala, which has 9 Stars and will reward you with the Sororal armor set upon completion. With all previous Events returning for the Festival of Accord in February, this will be your last opportunity to collect any missed Armor, Weapons and Cosmetics for the entire year.

What About Title Update 5? Community Predictions

Since the moment Capcom officially declared the main game update cycle closed, the community has been buzzing with talks about the next expansion.

Most awaited monsters in monster hunters are Brachydios, Deviljho, Kushala Daora and Shagaru Magala. Some longtime players even speculate that like Monster Hunter: Wilds, Capcom could drop a new monster completely out of the blue in a surprise update before the expansion shafts launch.

We could very well be witnessing the new Title Update 5 as the right moment for this.

In fact, there's a bit of precedent: The unveiling of the Ancient Leshen from The Witcher 3 as a crossover event in Monster Hunter: World came totally out of the blue to players right after the announcement of the last big update (Kulve Taroth). So, taking Capcom's history of shocking player base under consideration, this is barely one among many late surprises.

The Expansion and What Comes Next

In the summer of 2026, we will hear more about the Monster Hunter: Wilds expansion. We think it will be announced at Summer Games Fest. Based on past Monster Hunter games that have launched their expansions about 9 months after being announced, we predict we could see a release for Wilds within February or March 2027.

With the expansion, you will see the introduction of Master Rank monsters - these monsters will have new attack options available, more health and do more damage than before. Hunters will be getting stronger weapons, armor that is of a higher grade, decoration slots up to level 4 and purple sharpness. There may also be new gameplay features, similar to how other Monster Hunter expansions add extensive new ways to play to keep seasoned hunters engaged from the first day the expansion is released.

Conclusion

The base gameplay of Monster Hunter: Wilds is now finished, as all four Title Updates - from April 2025 to February 2026 - have added new monsters: Mizutsune, Lagiacrus, Seregios, Omega Planetes and Arch-Tempered Arkveld. And although development on Title Update 5 isn't happening yet, public speculation about "the next big thing," based on legacy from Monster Hunter World, keeps fans hopeful for more than just the expansion content expected to arrive in Summer 2026 to kick off the next phase for MH on the Forbidden Lands (early 2027) with Master Rank unlocking and a significant number of new monsters added to the existing ecosystem in the Forbidden Lands.

Whether Capcom surprises players with additional content or focuses entirely on the expansion, the future of Monster Hunter: Wilds remains full of potential.
