While it does sound completely out of the blue with no official announcements, there was a player survey last January 2025, which was matched by consistent leak assets later in the summer. MLBB X SpongeBob Leaks and Sources
In July 2025, several trusted MLBB leakers, including @abyssal_mlbb, @Txtmlbb, and Kazuki Official, posted themed Kill Notifications and other in-game asset snippets that hinted at an upcoming SpongeBob collaboration.
Not to mention, visuals started going viral on X, and it showed pretty obvious SpongeBob design like Krabby Patties, bubbles, and of course, pineapples. The claims’ credibility increased even further when a number of websites that are known for finding leaks have jumped in.
Of course, Moonton hasn’t released an official statement, but the leaks and the other reliable sources may just be on the right track.

To further solidify the leaks, back in January 2025, Moonton actually conducted a player survey. They asked which MLBB heroes would be the best fit to have SpongeBob-themed skins. The options included:

Moonton didn’t particularly announce that it was an official promotional sneak peek, but instead, it was considered a “community feedback gathering”. Still, with the timing and recent leaks, it was interpreted as the early planning phase for future skin designs.
Potential MLBB and SpongeBob Collab Skins
With the results of said survey and more information from the leakers, we’ve been able to identify the most likely hero-to-character mappings. They are as follows:
-Cyclops as Spongebob
For SpongeBob, the hero that was voted for the most was Cyclops. His small appearance and even walking pattern pair well with SpongeBob’s wacky movements and energetic personality.
It’s speculated that his skill effects would have an ocean theme with details like bubble bursts, jellyfish, and even SpongeBob’s iconic spatula. In addition, his ultimate may just be a massive bubble trap that surrounds an enemy hero once they’re hit.
-Gloo as Patrick Star
Compared to SpongeBob, the options for Patrick were not as obvious. Franco, Khufra, Gloo, and Bane resemble him one way or another. However, Gloo was the one that reportedly won the leaked designs.
You can easily see Gloo launching mini-Patrick clones that latch onto enemies during his ultimate, as well as slamming on the ground, making a starfish-shaped crater. It’s a bit harder to imagine compared to SpongeBob as Cyclops, but the vision is there.
-Bane as Mr. Krabs
Interestingly enough, Bane was the only hero that was featured as a potential hero for two different characters – both for Mr. Krabs and Patrick Star. Though, he’s the perfect choice for Mr. Krabs since Bane is essentially a pirate.
Just like SpongeBob, you can already imagine how Bane will become Mr. Krabs. His cannon can be a flying sack of coins or Krabby Patties, and his ultimate can easily become a tsunami of money coming towards you.
-Kimmy/Guinevere as Sandy Cheeks
Yet there’s one main character that wasn’t included in the January survey – Sandy Cheeks. Still, there’s nothing to worry about as MLBB crossover skin bundles usually include at least one female hero skin. Kimmy or Guinevere are the most likely candidates because of their agility and tech-focused playstyle, which match Sandy’s personality in the show.
-Squidward as an Emote
It might sound disappointing to some fans, but reports suggest that Squidward WILL NOT receive his very own hero skin. It’s rumored he’ll just be an emote just like Itachi Uchiha in the last MLBB x Naruto collab. Possible emotes might be his signature frown, him playing the clarinet, or even an eye-roll animation.
Possible Events
As mentioned before, Moonton hasn’t revealed any official details, including the dates and structure of the event. However, based on their recent events, the pattern will be similar with a custom event UI and theme, giveaways, cosmetics, and even missions with premium rewards.
-Custom Event UI & Theme
Most MLBB collabs include a themed event UI. This includes unique mission panels, reward tracks, and even mini-games that match the aesthetic of the brand that they partnered up with. For this event, you can expect a Bikini Bottom-themed home screen, loading frames, and even icons that have signature symbols from the show.
-Exclusive Skin Giveaway
For now, the skin giveaway has the highest chances of coming true. With at least three confirmed skins: Cyclops, Gloo, and Bane, and a fourth (Kimmy/Guinevere) as Sandy Cheeks, fans of the show have a lot of options to choose from. Further reports suggest that players can get at least one skin for free with missions, which is a common formula across recent MLBB events.
