The Ragin’ Cajun Makes His Debut in Marvel Rivals!

Gambit was definitely one of the most awaited heroes in Rivals since he’s such a lovable part of the X-Men. Now that he’s finally here, it’s safe to say NetEase shocked most of the player base by making Remy LeBeau a Strategist/Healer. Most people expected Gambit to be a DPS, but Marvel Rivals decided to switch things up and focus his kit around healing.

Not only that, he’s the game’s first debuff cleanser! Gambit’s kit allows him to heal allies not only with more HP, but also by removing status effects like CC and anti-heal. He can also apply debuffs on enemy heroes, reducing their healing received. Plus, he’s got some serious damage capabilities. Remy is still way too new to make any reliable claims, but it seems safe to say he’ll be meta going forward.

If you’ve been waiting for Rogue, you’ll have to keep waiting another month since she’s not coming until Season 5.5. And for any X-Men fans, NetEase also heavily teased Cyclops in the Season 5.5 reveal trailer, so expect the X-Men’s leader to show up sometime soon. For now though, Gambit has the spotlight. And despite his kit being hard to get used to, it sure is something different and fun.

A new season also means new team-ups and balance changes to existing heroes. But, that’s a topic for a different time as we focus on what’s new for now, and not just changed.

New Modes and Maps: Two Surprising Additions to The Game

If you’ve wanted some change of scenery, you’re in luck because the Grand Garden map is coming on November 27. But a new map is a given with a new season. Something truly surprising on the other hand, was two entire new modes! Here’s some more info about each of them.

New York’s Times Square: A 100 Person-Lobby!

Times Square in marvel rivals

After seeing how much fun people have messing around in Doom Match, NetEase decided to go crazy and let up to 100 players be in the same lobby simultaneously. This is part of a new mode with a brand-new map based on New York’s Times Square. All damage is disabled and everyone’s on the same team, making it one giant lobby to just chill with other players and chat.

A New 18v18 Mode Is Coming Soon

Much more interestingly, NetEase also announced an 18v18 mode which will release alongside the Grand Garden map. There isn’t a lot of info on what this mode will be like, but it’s safe to expect a lot of chaos. With 36 players fighting in one lobby at the same time, it’s sure to shake up the meta heavily and shake things up from the usual 6v6 format.

New Battle Pass, Skins, and Events

This time, the seasonal event is Elders' Chessboard. It has a total runtime of 60+ days and only 3 objectives a day for 8 days. Once you complete all those, you can get an epic Iron Spider skin for Spider-Man completely free!

On top of that, the new battle pass has some great skins. Like Season 4’s, this battle pass doesn’t have a specific theme either. Instead, there are some cool random skins for various heroes. Some standouts include a great Pirate Namor legendary you can get by buying the pass, a beautiful Angela skin which is our personal favourite, and an awesome Scarlet Witch classic skin which is also legendary.

There are obviously new skins in the shop too, including an epic for Gambit which has him in his thief’s guild attire. NetEase also teased a lot of skins and content coming to Marvel Rivals for its anniversary, including a legendary Businessman Jeff skin and 2500 units for free! The battle pass and other skins are paid though. If you’re ever in the mood to get them, save on your spending by buying from LootBar.

Conclusion

Season 5 brings a lot of good content to the game. And you can make the most of it if you top up Marvel Rivals lattice on LootBar and get cheap access to the new battle pass and Gambit’s skin. After a bit of a troubled time in Season 4 despite Daredevil’s hyped release, things are seriously looking up for Marvel Rivals this season with all the new content and changes!
