Marvel Rivals Season 2 Release Date
Season 2 launches on April 11, 2025 (UTC)!
Inspired by Marvel Comics’ iconic Hellfire Gala event—where the mutant nation of Krakoa hosts a night of elegance, power, and political maneuvering. Stranded in the year 2099 due to a temporal storm, Krakoa’s future hangs in the balance.
And don’t forget—Season 2 also marks the end of the Season 1 Battle Pass and Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure, so grab any unclaimed rewards while you can.
Season 2 New Heroes: Emma Frost & Ultron
Season 2 brings two new playable heroes, a more modest rollout compared to the four introduced in Season 1.
Emma Frost (Vanguard Class)
The White Queen herself joins the battle as part of the Season 2 launch. With storyline ties to the Hellfire Gala and in-game teasers featuring Doctor Doom, Emma is stepping into the spotlight ready to lead—or manipulate. From her teaser video, we can roughly infer her abilities as follows:
- Left-click fires a laser, with an estimated DPS (damage per second) of over 80.
- Right-click deploys a forward-moving shield; it stops moving when you release the button. The shield has 500 HP.
- E ability pulls out the enemy’s soul and attacks it. The damage is partially transferred to the actual body (similar to Illaoi’s E in League of Legends).
- Shift activates diamond form. The duration depends on how much energy you've built up through regular damage. In this state, you switch to melee combat, gain crowd control immunity, and take 30% reduced damage. While in diamond form, your E becomes a grab, and your right-click becomes a spinning kick. If the enemy hits a wall, it deals bonus damage.
- Ultimate releases a continuous wave of mind control energy. Each hit increases the target's mind control meter. When the meter is full, the target becomes charmed.
Ultron (Strategist Class)
Long rumored since December leaks and officially spotted on merchandise, Ultron will be joining in Season 2.5. A drone-commanding strategist, he’s expected to provide powerful support to his team.
From Season 3 onward, Marvel Rivals will switch to a 2-month season cycle, with a new Hero dropping each month.
