Marvel Rivals’ new 18v18 Annihilation mode is probably the most fun arcade mode in the game so far. Although it isn’t very enjoyable if you spend the entire time dying or fiending for kills because the entire 18-man enemy team is sticking together and you have no idea how to pick them off.
Some players are finding it hard to adjust because it’s so different from the usual 6v6 gameplay loop, but that’s just because they need a change of approach. That’s what we’re here to help with by giving some tips for doing better in 18v18 matches. And if you want any new skins while the Black Friday deals are active, LootBar offers Marvel Rivals lattice and skins at the best price.

5 Things You Need to Keep in Mind For The 18v18 Mode in Marvel Rivals
The 18v18 Annihilation mode is absolutely chaotic because it’s a fairly small map with a huge amount of people in it. There’s not really a second of rest, so use these tips to make the most of it.
1.Don’t Use Most Tanks (At Least Not Without Coordination)
Tanks are arguably the most important role in Marvel Rivals usually. But, they’re almost a handicap in the 18v18 mode. Firepower is all that matters in this deathmatch mode, and with 18 enemies, the extra health tanks have doesn’t really make much of a difference. The small map makes Venom, Peni, Groot, and most others easy targets.
Emma (because her 100 charge primary melts enemies), Angela, and Cap (because of their movement) are the only viable tanks in the mode. But, healers and DPS are still preferred since staying alive and getting kills are the main goal, which tanks aren’t excellent at in this mode.
2.Heroes With Team-Wipe Ults Are The Best
Since it’s so crowded and everyone is usually so distracted, it’s really easy to get 4-5 people at once with the right ultimate in this mode. Moon Knight, Storm, Star Lord, Jeff and Angela have the best ults for the mode. They almost always guarantee a few kills with one use, if you do it right. Jeff and Storm especially are an amazing combination in this mode because of their team-up.
3.Single Target Heroes Aren’t as Good As AoE Heroes
Single target heroes, like Spider-Man, Hawkeye, and Widow aren’t that great for 18v18. Especially not as good as Moon Knight, Storm, and others that can attack multiple targets at once. Namor and Hela together work really well because their team up being active means there are always squids around targeting enemies. But, other than them, you’d do much better by using Moon Knight, Iron Man, or even healers like Jeff that have primary attacks that can attack multiple targets in the main hall where players usually gather.
4.Stop Trying to Flank Without Support
Dive doesn’t work very well in 18v18 since there’s always multiple enemies at one spot instead of individuals on the side you can keep picking off like in 6v6. Flanks aren’t that effective because of that, since there’s a high chance enemies will spawn near behind you if you’re trying to sneak up behind a group.
But that only goes for individual flanks. With a group led by Angela and a couple of healers, diving in enemy backlines is still a great tactic. It’ll just require a lot more teamwork. Of course, if you have a BP or Daredevil ult, then going solo is more effective than usual.
5.Try Not To Take it Too Serious
That’s an actual tip. Seriously. This mode is one of the most enjoyable ones in the game because of how relaxed it is. All the games are quick, they’re fun, they have no real objective or purpose beyond chaos and getting kills. Just use whatever heroes you want to farm lord on or get some funny eliminations with, like trying to eat a dozen people with Jeff and jumping off map.
Going in with Punisher’s shotgun and blasting anything that moves is a way better option than try-harding in a mode like this at the end of the day. And while we’re talking about this new mode, as part of the new content, there’s a huge Black Friday sale going on in the game. If you want to get Marvel Rivals skins, lattice, or any other in-game content like the Anniversary premium vending machine pass, go to LootBar.
Conclusion
Players are loving Marvel Rivals’ new 18v18 annihilation mode, and you’ll have a much better time with it too using the tips above. Once you start treating this mode like what it is (a chill little arcade mode where having fun matters more than team comps, strategies or anything else) you’ll start doing better too. And if you want to look good while playing, check out LootBar to top up Marvel Rivals lattice and get skins for your favourite heroes.
