What’s the Map type of Lower Manhattan in Marvel Rivals?

Marvel Rivals Lower Manhattan Smile Deli

Lower Manhattan’s map type is Convergence, where attackers must capture a point and then escort a payload to the designated location. Of course, this is only one of the many game modes that you can play in Marvel Rivals. Marvel Rivals may not have added many new modes, but it has added some awesome skins that LootBar can help you get.

Defenders get a 30-second head start to set up at chokepoints. The progress bar locks in partial progress, so failed pushes have value. Overtime is triggered when the point is contested as the timer expires.

Once the payload activates, it moves automatically with at least one attacker nearby. If there are more attackers nearby, then it moves faster. The vehicle heals nearby attackers for 10 HP per second when it’s uncontested. Defenders can reverse progress by contesting it. The spawn location changes for each team, and the timer increases whenever the payload reaches a new checkpoint.

The Capture Point Phase

Attackers must pass through the Garden Area chokepoint with a huge arch and a Smile Deli left route at the start. Flankers can take the Smile Deli route if defenders hold the arch, or push through the arch if the opposing team is playing more passively. Players can find health packs inside the deli, the parking area, and the left side door.

The capture point has multiple hallways and elevated areas. Most attackers should push through the middle entrance together, while flanking heroes can use the right hallway or the left on the second floor. Defenders should utilize the high ground around the point with hitscan heroes like The Punisher. The health packs are in the small hallway, left side, second floor, and right side of the lab.

The Escort Phase

After capturing the point, the payload moves to the streets. The first chokepoint provides two paths. Players can either use the main street or go through the Union Allied building. Attackers can use the building to pick off enemies, while defenders can hold the main street while watching those windows. This area has health packs in the Universal Bank, Union Allied building, and Piano Room.

The Jeff statue roundabout has numerous balconies. Controlling these high positions is important. Long-range heroes like Punisher and Hela can give players a powerful advantage. The health packs are behind the snack shop, Stock Exchange building, Circle Cafe, and second-floor alley.

Kingpin’s Fortress is a snaky street where players can utilize cliffs for environmental kills. Heroes who push or pull enemies off the map, like Spider-Man and Invisible Woman, can get instant eliminations. This area has health packs in the building next to the elevated street and the red room.

The final area has plenty of high ground and a wide circular space. Attackers must enter through different routes, such as flying heroes from the second floor and tanks from the center. Defenders should utilize high ground with long-range heroes and push attackers back toward the chokepoint.

How do map-wide scans work in Marvel Rivals?

This map features a gimmick where a map-wide scan occurs every few minutes, revealing the positions, health, and ultimate statuses of all players for a brief period. There’s a loud alarm and an announcement before the green scanning field. This gimmick exposes flanking heroes, so players must be careful and plan their strategies depending on the scan timing.

Best Heroes for Lower Manhattan in Marvel Rivals

Dr Strange in Marvel Rivals

Doctor Strange is arguably the best character for Attackers because his portal can bypass the first chokepoint. Magneto is great because he can block projectiles around the chokepoint. Besides them, area denial Vanguards like Peni are excellent in smaller areas.

Punisher and Hela are the best long-range burst damage options. Star-Lord is arguably the best flanker due to windows, doors, and high ground that allow him to surprise enemies from almost anywhere.

Blade and Phoenix are powerful in close-quarters fights. Almost all Strategists are good in this map, but Luna Snow and Jeff provide the best results because the former can provide excellent heals through her ult in chokepoints, and the latter can throw enemies off the map.

Conclusion

The Lower Manhattan map is one of the most visually impressive in the game yet. Marvel Rivals is still adding content that pushes old and new players to want to play it, and that’s arguably the best compliment a hero shooter can get. If you, like many, prefer Marvel Rivals over the competition because of the many skins it adds, then you can buy a Marvel Rivals top up or two to get your hands on them.
