Marmoush or Timber? Whose SBC is The Better Choice in FC 26?

We recently got a few Showdown SBCs for both legs of the UCL Round of 16, and EA now released one for the Carabao Cup final this weekend against Man City and Arsenal too. Marmoush has a perfect meta card for the LW position, and Timber represents Arsenal’s side with another very good card with near perfect Playstyles.

Both of their SBCs cost near 110k, with Marmoush being just a tiny bit more expensive. That’s not a lot in terms of fodder, and you could complete both of them since they’re both good cards. Check out LootBar if you need enough FC 26 coins to do that. But, if you’re set on choosing just one, here’s our two cents.

Carabao Cup Final Showdown SBC – Who To Pick?

Our honest suggestion is doing both of them. They’re 88-OVR and either will fit into evos even if their team doesn’t end up winning, meaning your investment won’t go down the drain. But, if we had to pick one, it would probably be Marmoush. That may come as a surprise since Arsenal are favourites to win the final, but here’s why we think that.

Why You Should Pick Omar Marmoush

As it is, Marmoush is the more meta of the two options. He’s got Rapid+ and Low Driven+, which are perfect for both a ST or a LW, and he can play both. He also has CAM as a secondary position and does a great job there thanks to his high dribbling and base Incisive Pass. But, his best position is definitely LW because of Rapid+ and 93 Pace.

On top of that high speed and Low Driven+, he has silver Finesse, Power Shot, Dead Ball, Technical, First Touch, Trickster, and Incisive which we already mentioned. This card even has 5SM which goes so well with that base Trickster on the wings. And his face stats are great too with 89 Shooting, 83 Passing, and 90 Dribbling on top of the 93 Pace, with all these stats potentially receiving a +2.

Usually, this would be an easy choice for a final because you would expect Pep’s City to easily beat Arsenal. But, City aren’t in the greatest form, having been humiliated by Madrid across two legs and bowing out of the UCL. And they’ve been dropping points in the league too, making Arsenal easy favourites for the title well into the Premier League run-in.

Marmoush in FC 26

Regardless of all that, Marmoush is a fantastic attacking card that can do the job on LW, ST, and even CAM. His stats and Playstyles already make him great in-game, and he’s only 88-Rated which means he can fit into evos. Even if City don’t end up winning the final, Marmoush fits perfectly into Birthday Bonito and gets a huge boost to his Shooting, Passing, and Dribbling, along with 55. So you can’t really go wrong with Marmoush either way, making him the better choice out of the two in our opinion, especially if you want an attacker.

Why You Should Pick Jurriën Timber

Timber is almost a perfect card, but he lacks just two things that make him a worse option than Marmoush in our opinion. The first thing is more pace. 87 Pace is on the lower side for a wingback. It would be perfect for a CB, which Timber can also play. But, his height (5’10’’) could be a problem in FC, especially with so many players using tall ST cards like Peter Crouch and Ajorque in Champs recently.

His Playstyles+ are perfect, with Anticipate+ and Bruiser+ both being very meta. And he also has Pinged Pass, Jockey, Block, Quick Step, Aerial Fortress, and a couple of other silver Playstyles. That’s the other thing that makes this card less desirable, as Timber doesn’t even have silver Intercept. It’s such an important Playstyle this year since players hardly intercept the ball without it.

So, the only real reason why you should pick Timber is if you’re an Arsenal fan or if you want a player that can play all around the defence instead of an attacker. No Intercept is the only big issue., That’s because the pace will upgrade to 89 if Arsenal wins, which seems likely, as strange as it is to say that about Arsenal in a final. But if you can look past that, he can do a good job at both RB, LB, and even CB unless the opponent has a very tall ST. But there are much better options for defence out there, and you can get them or other FC 26 players with LootBar.

Conclusion

The Carabao Cup final seems like it’ll go Arsenal’s way, but you never know when it comes to football. Even keeping the result in mind though, you now know why we recommend doing Marmoush’s SBC instead. But, both of these cards are potentially perfect for future evos and you might regret just sticking to one. Buy FC 26 coins from LootBar if you don’t have enough fodder for both to not miss out.
