Collecting all Valhalla Trophies in God of War Ragnarok will make the free Valhalla DLC feel like a victory lap of Kratos fans. The roguelite mode will have you complete short, intense runs with all the familiar faces and challenging choices, but the 12 trophies will feel earned rather than frustrating. Most of them will pop naturally in the main story run, and some will ask you to make smart runs on any difficulty after completing the game.
In this guide, we will teach you exactly how to get all Valhalla Trophies in God of War Ragnarok. If you are a gamer and need some extra resources to get some game or even Steam Keys, LootBar is a convenient place to get them without any issues.

How Valhalla Works in God of War Ragnarok
Valhalla plays like a roguelite attached to the main God of War Ragnarok story. You start fresh each run from The Shore, pick a weapon path at the first chest, fight through random realms, and try to reach the end without dying. Die once on your very first attempt to kick off the story chapters. After that, every full run advances the six main chapters shown in the Goals menu under the Valhalla tab.
You unlock permanent upgrades at the Shore tablets between runs, which makes later attempts smoother. Fleeting Echoes and other temporary buffs reset on death, but your progress toward the Valhalla Trophy list carries over.
Story Trophies That Unlock Automatically
Seven trophies in God of War Ragnarok come naturally while you push through the six story chapters. I barely noticed them popping as I played. Here they are with the exact triggers:
- Invitation Accepted – Die in your first run. The cutscene back at The Shore with Freya and Sigrun triggers it right away.
- Dark Odyssey – Complete the sacrifice scene in Chapter 2 (Homecoming). It forces itself during the Helios moment on your third or fourth run.
- Blood, Sweat, and Tyr – Beat Tyr for the first time in Chapter 3 (The Host). This happens on run four or five once you reach the foggy Proving Grounds.
- Scry Me a River – Pick up Kratos’ Oath Stone in Chapter 4 (The Work, Part 1: Acceptance). It sits by the Chain of Balance.
- No Kratos, No Scry – Grab Pandora’s Statue in the final chapter (The Work, Part 3: Benevolence). Another forced pick-up near the Chain of Balance.
- Style Points – After the early tutorial, walk up to the Appearance Pedestal next to Eir on The Shore and equip any cosmetic armor set. It takes ten seconds.
- God of Hope – Finish all six story chapters by beating Tyr the required number of times. This silver Valhalla Trophy is your main reward for completing the DLC story.
These cover the bulk of the list and feel rewarding because they tie directly into the narrative of Kratos facing his past.
Visiting All Nine Realms for the Wayfarer Trophy
Wayfarer is the only exploration Valhalla Trophy and the one most players miss on their first blind run. Valhalla has nine realms total: six lower ones that appear randomly (Asgard, Jotunheim, Midgard, Vanaheim, Svartalfheim, Alfheim) and three upper ones locked to your starting weapon choice.
- Choose the Leviathan Axe path at the first chest → you visit Niflheim before the foggy maze.
- Choose the Blades of Chaos path → you visit Muspelheim.
- Choose the Draupnir Spear path → you visit Helheim.
To unlock Wayfarer, simply pick a different weapon at the start of three separate runs. Most players hit all nine naturally across the story runs, but if you stick to one weapon you might miss one upper realm.
Post-Story Trophies: The Light Grind
Once you finish the story and unlock free roam, three trophies remain that ask for targeted runs rather than blind luck.
You Again?
Needs all three Boat Captain Keys. They only start spawning after you collect Pandora’s Statue at the end of the story. Each key appears as a glowing purple item right in the first chamber, next to the wooden painting of Kratos and the opening chest.
Collect one key, reach the Proving Grounds (or beat Tyr), and the next key will spawn on your following run. Repeat three times total. You do not need to finish the entire run if you quit after Mimir comments on the item in the penultimate realm, but I found it easiest to just complete the run each time. The trophy pops after the third key.
Fight at the Forum
Opens the third arena in the Proving Grounds. After the story, start any new run and kill seven Valhalla’s Chosen enemies inside the foggy maze area before Tyr. Once you hit seven kills, climb the left wall from the central area, head right into the misty U-shaped section, and interact with the red rift in the middle. Jump into the Berserker fight—win or lose, the Valhalla Trophy unlocks immediately. Winning twice also nets two cool cosmetic armor sets as a bonus.
Easy Come, Easy Go
This is the only farming Valhalla Trophy. You must earn more than 15,000 Fleeting Echoes in one single run. The Greece section after Týr gives the biggest payouts, especially inside the special arenas that unlock at certain kill counts:
- 2 Chosen kills → Aegean Boat arena (short timer, solid echoes)
- 4 Chosen kills → Desert of Lost Souls arena (longer timer, bigger rewards)
- 7 Chosen kills → The Forum (already unlocked from the previous trophy)
Focus on breaking pots, opening chests, and clearing every enemy wave without dying. Buy the permanent Echoes upgrades at the Shore tablets beforehand to boost your starting amount and encounter rewards.
Completing the Mastery Quests for Understood the Assignment
Understood the Assignment asks you to finish any nine Mastery Quests. Open the Goals tab and scroll to the Mastery section to see the full list. Many are super easy:
- Switch between different Rage types or Shields before each run.
- Buy one permanent upgrade at the Shore tablets.
- Open legendary chests in the Greece labyrinth.
- Recharge a relic at the Proving Grounds tablet.
I knocked out nine of them passively while doing the other post-story tasks. Check your progress often because the counter updates live.
Wrapping Up Your Valhalla Trophy Hunt
With these steps you will have every Valhalla Trophy in God of War Ragnarok without wasted runs or guesswork. The story ones flow naturally, the realm visits take three quick weapon swaps, and the post-game trio rewards you for exploring the new Greece hub and arenas.
If you're looking to play the game on PC, the God of War Ragnarok Steam Key is available through LootBar. Plenty of players choose it for the competitive pricing and quick digital delivery that gets you back into Kratos’ world faster than waiting on other stores.
Now load up Valhalla, pick your first weapon path, and start earning those Valhalla Trophy pops—one run at a time.
