The Walkers - Undead but Not Beatable
The most common enemy in Last War Survival is the zombie, often referred to in-game as “walkers.” These slow-moving creatures are everywhere, especially during early-game missions. A Walker on its own doesn’t pose that much of a threat and can be easily taken down by a standard level of muscle power or very little firepower. The problem lies in their number and persistence. It will not be long before you find yourself surrounded by swarms of them; therefore, look out for them and don’t get distracted.
Always carry a melee weapon like a machete or a combat knife to silently clear away walkers. This saves ammo and doesn’t attract other walkers by the sound of ammunition. While moving in groups, you can lure them into traps and break their formation by using throwable distractions like firecrackers, and clear them out one by one. While shooting, aim for the head as headshots deal extra damage.
The Runners - Fast, Furious, and Frightening
The runners are a mutant version of the zombies, and unlike the walkers, these are an agile and aggressive group of creatures that attack in packs. They will sprint towards you in packs and overwhelm you with numbers of attackers, and you will be engulfed in the mix if you do not act fast enough.
As they are quite fast, keeping a safe distance from them is a must while fighting. Use automatic weapons like SMGs or shotguns to deal burst damage at close range. They are very dangerous in weather events where visibility is reduced, so always protect your base by setting up spike traps, as they will take out most of the runners before they reach you. Always scan your environment before entering buildings; runners love ambushing in tight interiors. A great tactic is to pin them around obstacles and take them out.
The Brutes - Tanks of the Apocalypse
Brutes are heavily mutated zombies that are slow but insanely tough. These enemies are typically found guarding high-value loot or during boss raids. Their strengths include smashing through walls, absorbing ammo damage, and causing splash damage to a fixed radius. If you hear heavy breathing and feel the ground shake, chances are a brute is nearby.
Being the toughest out there, killing brutes takes a lot of time and patience, so always come well prepared and use only the highest damage weapons like snipers or explosives, and attack from a distance. The only advantage of attacking brutes is that they can’t approach you quickly enough, so you have time to take them out. Make use of land mines and flame throwers by luring Brutes into them. Don’t try to take on a brute alone unless you have good gear and high-grade weapons.
Raiders - Human Foes with Smarts
Unlike zombies, raiders are intelligent, unpredictable, and tactically aware. These creatures are equipped with guns, grenades, and some even have armoured vehicles. What makes them especially dangerous is their ability to flank, take cover, and adapt to your behaviour and style of attack. Some Raiders often try to lure you into their traps and ambush you after retreating in a battle.
Encounter Raiders like a player in a PvP battle. Use cover wisely, don’t stay exposed for too long, and keep flanking and changing your position. Use means of smoke grenades and flashbangs to distract and break their line of sight, meanwhile flanking and attacking them. Try taking out their medics and snipers first from their group, as they are key to winning against them. Make sure you have watchtowers in your base for scouting Raiders at night, as they are sneaky and can take you by surprise.

Beasts - Nature’s Reclaiming Force
The apocalypse hasn’t only affected humans; wild animals have also mutated into deadly predators. You will run into giant bears, venomous wolves, and even flying creatures that hunt by swooping down unexpectedly. These enemies are especially common in forested or mountainous regions, and they tend to attack in packs.
Fire-based weapons and loud noises often tend to scare off the smaller beasts. Use molotovs or flamethrowers when surrounded by these smaller beasts. The bigger ones need great attention. Always keep moving when being chased by a bigger beast, and never let them corner you. Always try to lure them into traps like stun guns and electric traps to immobilize them, and then take them out using heavy artillery or firepower like huge explosives. Beasts often signal their approach by their vocalizations, so try to learn their sounds and stay alert. Hunting these creatures is worth the risk as they often drop rare crafting materials and meat for survival.
Drones and Warbots - Mechanical Mayhem
As remnants of military defence systems, drones and warbots are robotic enemies still enforcing a strong presence among all the other beasts and creatures. These machines patrol key zones like military bunkers or government labs, and unlike organic enemies, they don’t bleed or get distracted. They are programmed with precision. Drones have surveillance and stun capabilities, while warbots come equipped with mounted guns and missile launchers.
EMP grenades and hacking devices are your best tools. Craft or scavenge them before entering high-tech zones. Once EMP is engaged, the warbots and drones are nothing but chunks of scrap metal. Finishing them off is quite easy once they are disabled. While fighting warbots, target exposed circuitry or glowing areas, as they are the sources of power, and once damaged, the warbot dies. While in a drone-filled territory, try to make precise movements as they can detect through walls with their infrared vision.
