Basic Introduction

Aventurine is a a powerful Preservation character. He can grant all allies a shield by using his Skill. When an enemy attacks a shielded ally or an ally does a follow-up attack, he will charge his follow- up that will also stack the shield effect up to 200% of the Skill’s shield amount. It is important to note that all Aventurine’s attack scales from his DEF.

Trace Priority

Aventurine relies mostly on his Skill and Talent to maximize the amount of the shield generated. To maximize his potential, focus on upgrading his Skill and Talent with his Ultimate. His Basic ATK is the least important trace since the scaling does not have much of a difference. In short, his trace priority is Skill > Talent > Ultimate > Basic ATK.

Recommended Light Cones

Best

Inherently Unjust Destiny

Increases the wearer's DEF by 40%. When the wearer provides a Shield to an ally, the wearer's CRIT DMG increases by 40%, lasting for 2 turn(s). When the wearer's follow-up attack hits an enemy target, there is a 100% base chance to increase the DMG taken by the attacked enemy target by 10%, lasting for 2 turn(s).

This light cone gives a high DEF to achieve the required DEF (4000) to reach the maximum potential of his A2 trace.

It also increases the CRIT DMG of the wearer and allows the wearer to apply a debuff that increases teamwide damage.

Good

Moment of Victory

Increases the wearer's DEF by 24% and Effect Hit Rate by 24%. Increases the chance for the wearer to be attacked by enemies. When the wearer is attacked, increase their DEF by an extra 24% until the end of the wearer's turn.

While the bonus Effect Hit Rate is not useful, this light cone gives a high DEF to achieve the required DEF to reach the maximum A2 trace and increases the wearer’s chance to be attacked by enemies which charges his follow-up even faster.

Trend of the Universal Market

Increases the wearer's DEF by 16%. When the wearer is attacked, there is a 100% base chance to Burn the enemy. For each turn, the wearer deals DoT that is equal to 40% of the wearer's DEF for 2 turn(s).

This light cone gives DEF to achieve the required DEF (4000) to reach the maximum potential of his A2 trace and when the wearer is attacked, there is a chance to apply Burn the enemy that might help in certain scenario (Acheron team where she gains a stack every time the wearer is attacked).

Concert for Two

Increases the wearer's DEF by 16%. For every on-field character that has a Shield, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 4%.

This light cone gives DEF to achieve the required DEF (4000) to reach the maximum potential of his A2 trace and increases Aventurine’s DMG for every shielded on-field character.

Follow-Up Team

Aventurine excels as a sustain character for follow-up attack teams. His ability to provide powerful, stacking shields with Fortified Wager ensures team survivability while granting significant Effect RES to shielded allies. These shields stack dynamically and scale with Aventurine's DEF, allowing for immense durability across multiple turns. When allies or Aventurine himself are attacked while shielded, his Blind Bet stacks build quickly, triggering high-damage follow-up attacks that also regenerate energy and shred enemy Toughness.

In a follow-up team, Aventurine pairs exceptionally well with characters like Topaz, Moze, or March 7th, whose mechanics generate frequent follow-up attacks to charge Aventurine’s abilities and maximize his shield-refreshing synergy. Dr. Ratio benefits from Aventurine’s Unnerved debuff which amplifies CRIT DMG against enemies, enhancing team-wide DPS. Feixiao contributes additional follow-up damage and makes full use of Aventurine’s defensive and offensive capability.

This composition balances outstanding survivability, strong Toughness-breaking potential, and consistent damage output, making Aventurine the backbone of any follow-up-focused team.

Acheron Team

Acheron teams thrive on generating stacks to accelerate her Ultimate, and Aventurine is an ideal partner to support this strategy. His Fortified Wager shields not only keep the team alive but also synergize with frequent attacks and debuff applications that help Acheron maximize her stack generation. Aventurine’s Ultimate applies the Unnerved debuff which increases CRIT DMG taken by enemies, further amplifying Acheron’s damage potential.

Aventurine’s frequent follow-up attacks from his Blind Bet mechanic contribute to building stacks for Acheron while simultaneously regenerating his energy and dealing Toughness damage.

Additionally, his shields and Effect RES bonuses ensure that Acheron and the rest of the team stay protected long enough for her to repeatedly unleash her powerful Ultimate.

This team benefits from Aventurine’s shielding, consistent Toughness damage, and his ability to maintain offensive pressure while supporting Acheron’s stack-centric playstyle. Together, they form a well-rounded synergy that balances sustain, stack-building, and burst potential.

Conclusion

Aventurine is a top-tier Preservation sustain unit who excels in providing team-wide survivability through his powerful stacking shields and high Effect RES bonuses. His kit scales off DEF, making him tanky and capable of dealing meaningful damage. His shields not only protect allies but also enable a follow-up attack system that synergizes exceptionally well with characters reliant on follow-up mechanics or frequent stack generation, such as Acheron or Topaz.

His Ultimate adds offensive utility by debuffing enemies with Unnerved, increasing their vulnerability to CRIT DMG, which benefits DPS-focused characters in his team. Aventurine’s SP economy, toughness-breaking potential, and adaptability that ensure both defense and offense are maintained throughout a fight.

While universal in utility, Aventurine particularly shines in follow-up or stack-reliant teams due to his synergy with frequent ally attacks and his ability to refresh shields effortlessly. He is a cornerstone unit for these compositions and is likely to remain one of the strongest sustain options for a long time, both for new and veteran players alike
