Yao Guang and a new variant of an existing character — Sparkle SP Sparxie — are listed as headline units for 4.0.
Yao Guang
Yao Guang is a Physical Elation support in Honkai: Star Rail who enhances her team’s damage through Elation buffs and Punchline generation. Her Basic Attack deals physical damage while generating energy, and her Skill, Decalight Unveils All, creates a zone that boosts allies’ Elation and generates Punchlines for extra effects. Her Ultimate, Hexagram of Feathered Fortune, grants additional Punchlines, triggers an extra turn, and increases all allies’ RES Penetration, amplifying team damage. Her talents further convert allies’ attacks into bonus Elation damage, scaling with her own stats if theirs are lower.
Sparxie
Sparxie is a 5-star Fire Elation DPS in Honkai: Star Rail whose gameplay revolves around generating and consuming Punchlines through repeated actions. Her Skill enhances her Basic Attacks and triggers Engagement Farming, which can repeatedly grant Punchlines and sometimes Skill Points, allowing her to maintain high action frequency. Her Ultimate deals AoE Fire damage scaled by ATK and Elation, generates additional Punchlines, and contributes to burst damage.
Her Talent further empowers her Enhanced Basic Attacks with Fire Elation damage and extra hits based on Engagement Farming triggers, while her Elation Skill delivers multiple hits to enemies and helps offset Skill Point costs. Sparxie also provides team utility by increasing allies’ Crit DMG based on her Punchlines and gaining stronger effects when paired with other Elation characters. Overall, she is a fast-paced, resource-driven main DPS who excels at sustained pressure and scaling damage through Punchline management.

R1: Increases the wearer's SPD by 18%. When the wearer enters combat or uses Ultimate on an ally target, the wearer gains "Great Fortune" for 3 turn(s). While the wearer has "Great Fortune," all allies' CRIT Rate increases by 10%, CRIT DMG increases by 30%, and the wearer's Energy Regeneration Rate increases by 12%.
Dazzled By A Flowery World (5★)

R1: Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 36%. While the wearer is on the field, for every Elation character on the team, increases the Skill Point upper limit by 1, up to a max increase of 3. For every 1 Skill Point the wearer consumes, ignores 5% of enemy targets' DEF when this unit deals Elation DMG, and increases all allies' Elation by 5%. This effect can stack up to 4 time(s). Light Cone effects of the same type cannot stack.
