Memory of Chaos Introduction
Memory of Chaos is a difficult end-game mode in Honkai: Star Rail, where you must fight two encounters made up of two waves of enemies, the second wave being a boss battle with a large HP pool. Two unique teams are required for the encounters. The objective is to earn 3 stars by completing both encounters within 10 cycles and having no teammates defeated during the battle. In addition, there is a passive buff called Memory Turbulence that changes with every new version of Memory of Chaos. This will assist the player in defeating the challenging Stage 12!

The Memory Turbulence for Version 3.6 - Category Mistake is the following buff:

This Memory Turbulence buff is an amazing buff for any units that use summons, which include Remembrance characters, as both the unit and their memosprite will gain a 40% DMG boost. In addition, having a summon will make enemies take an extra instance of True DMG at the beginning of each cycle, making it easier to clear within the cycle limit!

For this node, area-of-effect damage (AoE) is important because of the Flame Reaver's mechanics; he will have a lot of DMG reduction until his summons are defeated, and he will inflict massive damage on your team if these summons are not defeated before his next action. The Castorice and Evernight teams are both very strong, as they both benefit greatly from this version's Memory Turbulence and easily deal with Flame Reaver's summons.
In any fight that requires a lot of AoE damage, The Herta will always be a premium team due to her ability to deal excellent damage to groups of enemies, further enhanced by the Tribbie + Anaxa combo. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae is the best choice in this node because his Skill gives the targeted teammate the Souldragon summon, giving them the benefit of increased DMG via the Memory Turbulence buff.
Another Remembrance team that performs very well on this node is the Aglaea line-up, being on element and benefitting from this version's Memory Turbulence. Because of this, you can bring an alternative sustain like Hyacine to provide more damage with her memosprite, as it will be enhanced. The Aglaea team is skill-point friendly, which is favourable for Hyacine, as she needs to frequently use her Skill.

Because of the boss mechanics, bringing a shield sustain is strongly recommended, to quickly inflict Weakness Break, as otherwise the boss will have 50% DMG reduction. This makes Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae a staple for any ATK-based team challenging this boss.
For this node, Phainon is the stand-out choice, able to inflict heavy Physical damage and advance the boss to assist in breaking his Toughness bar. The Anaxa team is also a high performer here, due to the ability to implant Weakness types and burn through the Toughness bar thanks to his multiple actions with Cerydra!
For alternatives, the Hysliens' DoT team performs well here thanks to Hysliens' Physical type. While Castorice doesn't want a shield sustain and isn't on-element for this boss, thanks to Cyrene, she gets access to true damage, which bypasses the DMG reduction mechanic. This boss also has Ice weakness, meaning that Evernight and Cyrene can deal toughness damage to deal with its mechanics! This team is capable of brute-forcing this node with the correct investment.
