Get Better at Playing Angela in Marvel Rivals Season 4 With These Tips

Season 4 of Marvel Rivals brings the Ancient City of K'un-Lun to the game, home of The Iron Fist (and also Daredevil, apparently…?). But before we can get our hands on Daredevil, NetEase gave players their first ever flying tank in the form of Angela, one of the siblings of Thor and Loki.

Being the only tank with flight in the game so far, she’s a unique character to pick up. To get better at playing her, follow this guide that goes through some tips for Season 4 of Marvel Rivals. And if you want to buy her 2099 skin, Season 4’s battle pass, or other goodies in the game, make sure to check out LootBar for the best deals on Lattice in Marvel Rivals!

A Rundown of Angela’s Abilities

Her primary fire is just a melee attack with her slow. It’s slow but has crushing damage. So don’t be afraid to rely on it in a 1v1. Especially against healers or DPS that don’t have CC (crowd control).

Assassin’s Charge (Shift Ability)

Any single enemy caught in front of the Assassin’s Charge will be taken with Angela until the Charge ends. You can use this to either drag tanks or healers to your backline, where your team can kill them instantly. Or, you can use this ability as a boop to push enemies off the map. Although the second option is situational, it’s great for maps with places to throw enemies out of bounds.

Angela Carrying an Enemy With Accelerated Dash

Divine Judgement (E Ability)

Angela can use Divine Judgement to dive down from the sky, landing on top of opponents. This switches her from a flying her to a grounded one, and changes her primary weapon to twin axes which have much higher attack speed.

After diving, Angela will create a small area bubble that grants bonus health to all teammates, and provides bonus speed. Very useful for scattering enemies off the objective, or sneaking up to enemy backlines and dealing major damage before flying away.

Wingblade Ascent (E Ability)

Once you’re done on the ground after using Divine Judgement, Wingblade Ascent will allow you to fly back into the air whenever you choose. Nothing more to this ability.

Shielded Stance (Right Click)

Like most tanks, Angela has a shield as well. That shield can be activated with Shielded Stance. The shield will block of 350 damage. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but that’s enough of a layer to save you and teammates directly behind you from insta-kill ultimates like Iron Man’s Maximum Pulse, and Scarlett Witch’s Reality Eraser.

Heven’s Retribution (Q/Ultimate Ability)

Angela’s ultimate ability is Heven’s Retribution. When activated, she’ll place an anchor where you’re aiming. This anchor will hold down enemies in place, keeping them trapped for a short while. It's actually a lot like Groot's ult, just with more versatility since Angela is a lot more mobile.

When you pair it with ultimates like Namor’s Giganto or Moon Knight’s Hand of Khonshu, it can wipe out entire teams since they'll have nowhere to run from heavy damage. Coordination makes Angela’s ultimate one of the most useful in the game, so communicate with teammates.

Angela's Ultimate in Action

When is Angela in Her Element?

A big part of learning new heroes is knowing when it’s the right time to use them. With that said, she’s definitely the most dangerous on more open maps like Central Park and Yggsgard. These maps have a lot of room for her to fly and avoid hitscans like Punisher and Hela.

But, more important than the map is countering opponents. Angela is amazing against other fliers like Iron Man, Ultron, and Johnny Storm. She’s also great against Loki, Adam, and Rocket since she can restrict their movement and single them out for easy kills.

With a good Thor and nice supports to heal you, Angela is great. Especially at lower ranks where even her usual counter hitscans can’t do much, since players at these ranks usually don’t have great aim to knock her down from the air.

When Not To Use Angela

Angela is great when it’s her time, but you should know when to quit. If the enemy team has multiple hitscans, you should switch since they’ll keep gunning you down mid-air. It’s also not a good idea to use Angela if the enemy team has a lot of CC, like Luna’s freeze, Mantis’ sleep, Winter Soldier’s Tainted Voltage, and more.

Angela Put to Sleep by Mantis' Abilities

These abilities will suspend Hela from flying, leaving her completely to the enemy team’s mercy without any way out for a valuable few seconds. And unfortunately, since the current meta revolves around CC, finding the right time to play her may be difficult.

But, if you follow this guide and use Angela when the time is right, you’re going to love every second of it. She’s a unique and really fun character that’s finally brought more Vanguard players into the mix.
