What is the Stygian Onslaught?

The Stygian Onslaught is endgame content available at the start of each new version, one week after its release. Unlike the Spiral Abyss, the Onslaught consists of 6 independent difficulty levels.

Each stage requires 3 battles against a boss. Starting from difficulty level 4, you must prepare three separate teams. In the earlier stages, you are free to use whichever characters you like. However, every challenge is timed—if you exceed the limit, the attempt is considered a failure.

About Rewards:

• Difficulties 1–3 reward you with 450 Primogems in total.

• Difficulty 4 and 5 each grant Dust of Enlightenment.

• Difficulty 6 grants a Radiant Phantasm (if cleared) or a Radiant Phantasm: Sublimation (if cleared within 180 seconds total). These items allow you to unlock unique weapon skins, which expire once the next Onslaught cycle arrives.

About Co-op:

• Difficulties 1–4 can be cleared in multiplayer and still provide rewards.

• Difficulties 5–6 can also be played in multiplayer, but in this case, they give no rewards.

About Artifact farming:

• Starting from difficulty 3, you can farm artifacts of your choice.

• Every 120 resin spent grants one extra artifact.

• After 1200 resin, you also receive Dust of Enlightenment.

• This farming option is only available for 10 days once the Onslaught becomes accessible.

About Boss mechanics:

• Difficulties 4–6 introduce new boss mechanics, making them harder to defeat.

• For comparison:

  • Difficulty 4 ≈ equivalent to Spiral Abyss boss difficulty

  • Difficulty 5 is harder and requires optimized teams with near-perfect rotations (especially if your characters are C0)

  • Difficulty 6 is the most demanding and requires extreme team optimization, rotations, and possibly strategic constellations depending on your roster

Boss 1: Aeonblight Drake

When the boss takes a certain amount of damage from a particular element, its resistance to that element increases to 200%. To remove this resistance, you must deal damage with another element so that its elemental resistance changes to that element.

 If you don't change your elemental damage type, the boss flies away without you having the slightest chance of bringing it down, and its resistance to damage from the elements we used to damage it increases to 200%.

 As you can see, hypercarry teams, based on a single Main DPS, should be avoided.

1. Chasca Teams

Chasca is an anemo DPS main who has the particularity of making charged attacks whose elemental damage varies depending on the element of each character present in the team.

Chasca will be able to do 3 types of elemental damage at the same time among the electro, cryo, hydro and pyro elements.

Among Chasca's teams, we find the Chasca + Bennett + Furina + Citlali team, in which the 3 buff characters (Bennett the ATK, Furina the damage, Citlali debuff the hydro and cryo) and Chasca will be able to regularly do melting and evaporation damage. 

Obviously other teams are possible, here is a small selection:

• Chasca + Mavuika + Citlali + Furina
• Chasca + Shenhe + Furina + Escoffier (Chasca C1 is recommended)
• Chasca + Bennett + Ororon + Diona C6 (F2P team)

Be careful, however, to have a well-built Chasca, or with C1 or C2 to considerably improve your damage.

2. Natlan Double DPS Teams

In this team, the objective will be to boost both Mavuika's and Mualani's damage. Here the best team will be Mualani + Mavuika + Xilonen + Citlali. If you don't have Xilonen, Sucrose is an excellent option to debuff and give EM. 

The rotation is rather simple: you will do a normal ATK with Mualani, chain with Xilonen, use Citlali's skill then do a melt with Mavuika and follows by her skill. Mualani then hits until her Phlogiston is exhausted, thus doing enormous Vaporize damage. Once done, the boss will have resistance to the hydro element. Now use Mavuika's skill, Xilonen's skill to give various buffs, Citlali's skill and her ultimate to apply cryo. Mavuika follows up with her ultimate, continuing with her charged attacks to deal maximum pyro damage. Then it's back to normal: the boss reduces Pyro resistance, then you start the rotation again from the beginning.

3. The Frozen Teams

The Frozen team is also a very effective team against this boss. In this specific case, Skirk + Yelan + Escoffier + Furina team is a very good choice, which the damage will be shared equally between the cryo damage inflicted by Escoffier and Skirk and the hydro damage inflicted by Yelan and Furina. It's an extremely powerful team since Escoffier and Furina buff, Yelan buffs too and everyone deals damage.

4. The Overloaded Teams

The overload team is also a team that can be made in double MDPS. In this specific case, the best team will be Varesa + Mavuika + Iansan + Chevreuse. Other possible teams are Arlecchino + Raiden C2 + Bennett + Chevreuse, Clorinde + Arlecchino + Bennett + Chevreuse etc.

In short: You need at least two MDPS characters that deal damage from different elements, or a well-invested Chasca. Mualani/Mavuika, Chasca, Freeze in double MDPS can easily help you kill this boss.

Boss 2: Battle-Scarred Rock Crab

The Battle-Scarred Rock Crab is a boss that requires Dendro reactions: indeed, at the start of the fight, the crab rises into the air and drops Hermit Seeds, which can be thrown back at the boss to destroy its shield. To do this, the only reactions that will work are the Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Lunar-Bloom reactions.

Be careful, if the Hermit Seeds are not destroyed in time, the character of our team currently on the field will die. Also note that if they receive pyro damage, they explode, throwing us and inflicting damage.

1. Hyperbloom Teams

Hyperbloom team is a team that consists of creating dendro cores and making them explode by touching them with electro. Currently, the team Lauma + Yelan + Xinqiu + Raiden is the best team. Be careful, Lauma C1 can give you a higher level of comfort since his C1 heals. In the absence of C1, you can put a sustain other than Lauma such as Yaoyao or Kokomi. 2. Nilou Bloom Teams

In short: Dendro is the key to defeating this boss. You have various team options, but Lauma remains the most meta character currently and will most easily help you defeat this boss quickly.

Boss 3: Battle-Hardened Fireblade Shock Trooper

The trooper starts the fight with a shield capable of regenerating. This shield must be destroyed 3 times, each destruction makes it lose 6% of its HP. To do this, electro-charged damage against this shield is boosted by 600% and Lunar-Charged damage by 200%, each of these reactions preventing the shield from regenerating. Subsequently, electro elemental resistance is reduced by 60%.

This time, the focus is on Electro-Charged or Lunar-Charged damage, so characters like Ineffa and Flins will be the best options.

1. Lunar-Charged Teams

The Lunar-Charged team is a team based on Lunar-Charged damage. Ineffa is the best option here, since her sub-dps damage is considerable and she is an extremely versatile character. 3. Hypercarry Teams

Hypercarry teams can also work and score very well. This involves dealing enough damage to the shield to destroy it quickly and then dealing heavy damage.

For the skirk team, the rotation will consist of first doing 2 or 3 damage via the ultimate before chaining on normal attacks.

In the overload team with Varesa and Mavuika (in the image we put Xilonen as an example, but Chevreuse C6 is also a very good option), we will inflict heavy damage thanks to Mavuika's ultimate and Varesa's high electro damage.

Be careful though, hypercarry and/or burst DPS teams require a high investment in your characters.

In short: Electrocution and Selenocution reactions should be prioritized, however hypercarry teams combined with high ultimate damage can also overcome the bosses.
