Who better to evolve with Il Capitano than the very man this evolution is based on? His baby version from Trophy Titans fits perfectly into the evo and ends up with amazing stats, especially if you use All-Around Impact (unlocked through Milestones Objectives) immediately afterward. Your Maldini will have 90 Pace, 82 Dribbling, 93 Defending, and 90 Physical.
He also has Intercept+, Jockey+, silver Anticipate, Slide Tackle, Aerial Fortress, Bruiser, Pinged Pass, Long Ball, and even Quick Step! Not to mention Maldini’s unique animations and presence in-game, which will make all these stats and Playstyles feel even better than they already are. Unless you want to wait for an even better once TOTS is here, using Maldini in Il Capitano is a no-brainer.
82-OVR Gold Micky Van De Ven
TOTS is coming soon, and everyone wants the most meta cards in their teams to prepare for the FUT Champs sweat fest. If you’re in the same boat and need a new defender, look no further than this Micky Van De Ven evo, which is as ratty as it gets. With this chain of four evolutions below, you can get a VdV with 92 Pace, 93 Defending, and 91 Physicality:

- Lisbon Lifeline
- Il Capitano
- All-Around Impact (great for even better pace and improved dribbling)
This exact chain will give Van De Ven base Bruiser, Jockey, Slide Tackle, Block, Aerial Fortress, and Pinged Pass. The only thing missing from this card is Quick Step. But, you probably know that Van De Ven doesn’t need that to outpace attackers if you’ve played against him this year. If you have his gold card or an already evolved version of him that fits Il Capitano, he’s arguably an even better option than Maldini.
89-OVR Winter Wildcards Jaap Stam
Stam hasn’t been as big of a menace in FC 26 as he was in 25, but that doesn’t mean his cards aren’t amazing still. His Winter Wildcards was pretty good when it released, and now it’s even better thanks to Il Capitano. Use the evo and the All-Around Impact on this card to give it 90 Pace, 81 Dribbling, 94 Defending, and 93 Physical. For a colossus like Stam, those stats are exactly as crazy as they look.
Intercept+ and Anticipate+ are both obviously perfect too. Plus he has silver Bruiser, Quick Step, Aerial Fortress, Jockey, Pinged Pass, and Block. That silver Quick Step is so good for a big Lengthy CB like him, especially combined with that high pace. He’s a bully while manually defending and has great movement while AI defending thanks to Intercept+ too. The only downside is that his Winter Wildcards is over a million coins.
89-OVR Unbreakables Nemanja Vidic
Another Man United legend perfect for Il Capitano is Unbreakables Vidic. You just want to start this chain by giving Vidic Anticipate+ with the objectives evolution (score in 15 games with 4-2-2-2). It’s necessary despite Il Capitano already adding Anticipate+ because the separate evolution will also give Vidic silver Quick Step in this chain. So for that extra great Playstyle, use Anticipate+ first. Then add Il Captano and All-Around Impact.
Your Vidic will now have 90 Pace, 93 Defending, and 91 Physical. Along with those stats he has Intercept+, Anticipate+, sliver Bruiser, Quick Step, Aerial Fortress, Slide Tackle, Block, and Jockey. All this feel even better in-game because the presence Vidic’s cards always have. He’s a bully, just like Stam. But, like Stam’s evolution, the drawback with this one is that he’s 1m+ coins on the market. So, if you want him for your team but also want to save coins for TOTS, get FC 26 players from LootBar for cheap.
