Activities and Rewards In The Festive Xmas Tree Event
First up is the main tab of the event itself, which is just called Festive Xmas Tree. Here, you can spend themed socks, hats, and wreaths to get some good rewards out of the tree. Socks are the most common resource and usually give out common rewards like speed-ups. Hats are slightly more rare and offer better rewards. Wreaths offer the best rewards like gear and resources, chests, and more. You can get all three of these through the event’s donation pass, or through Daily Tasks while Festive Xmas Tree is active.
On top of these, you also unlock Xmas Gift Boxes through the Donation Pass and Daily Tasks. You send these gift boxes through the main menu to Alliance members, and they can send you gifts as well. It’s a bunch of (mostly free) stuff that’s better than nothing at all. You can get even better rewards with the Donation Pass since it offers legendary resources and even puzzle pieces for Legendary heroes. It’s also necessary if you want the Jackpot skin, because you’ll need all the extra gifts you get from the Donation Pass to unlock that skin.
Xmas Smash and The New Jackpot Skin
The Xmas Smash section of this menu lets you choose a “Lucky Dog” and take tries on a machine that randomly generates different dogs. If the Lucky Dog you chose is a part of the selected, you’ll get rewards and progress towards the Jackpot. The Jackpot is one of the biggest focuses of this event because it features a Legendary “Paw Patrol” shelter skin that gives a 15% boost to troop defence and 2% boost to troop damage.
Even better, there’s a Mythical version of the Paw Patrol shelter skin that looks much cooler. It even offers a 2% increase to troop HP, along with the bonuses already offered by its Legendary version. If you want any shot at getting that extremely exclusive skin though, you’ll need to spend a lot because it’s the reward for filling up the Jackpot meter. It’s arguably worth it since you’ll be getting a huge set of rewards along the way too.
Recharge Mania
Recharge Mania is all about how much you spend on Dark War Survival during the event. You get access to better and better rewards as you cross certain spending thresholds. This isn’t anything you have to specifically work towards. Even purchases for the Jackpot will count towards Recharge Mania, so it’s basically a “two birds with one stone” type of situation. Every spending threshold offers increasingly great rewards, which eventually include a Legendary skin called “Rex the Pilot”. It offers a boost of 10% to troop attack, 5% to march speed, and 1% troop HP.
Xmas Shift Snow and Xmas Check In
Xmas Shift Snow is a cute little feature that lets you transform your shelter, or even other shelters on the map, into little snowmen. This has no effects on gameplay in any way, but the happy little snowmen that you can add to all the shelters across your state help spread some holiday cheer. Other players will be able to see when you change their shelters into a snowman, and be able to do the same to yours. There aren’t any rewards or any kind of mechanics tied to Xmas Shift Snow and it’s just for fun.
Then you have Xmas Check In, which is Dark War Survival’s way of gifting players during the holidays. Every single day while Festive Xmas Tree is active, you can log in to claim rewards. The reward for checking in during all 7 days is a 3 day trial for the Legendary version of the Paw Patrol skin.
