Black Myth: Wukong lets players choose from all sorts of abilities. Wukong could use his hair to create multiple clones or even force an enemy to stay still in place. It’s this variety that makes this such a fun game. However, not every ability is just given to you naturally. Case in point, the Ebon Flow transformation can be a little tricky to get. But it’s more than worth getting.

What is the Ebon Flow transformation in Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong has multiple types of spells that you can equip and use to aid you in battle. As you’ll find out when you play this game after getting it through a platform such as LootBar, transformations are arguably some of the most useful ones. They basically give you additional health while letting you unleash special attacks.
The Ebon Flow transformation, in particular, lets you transform into the Yin Tiger. The Yin Tiger is a large tiger NPC who wields a greatsword. His attacks include powerful cleaving strikes, as well as the ability to deflect attacks to build up focus.
Getting full focus while transformed lets players convert all of it into swiftness through the Windwalker spell. This makes the character transform into a gust of wind every time he dodges, which can even be used to pass through enemies. Light attacks during this stage are also transformed to be more deadly.
How to get the Ebon Flow transformation in Black Myth: Wukong
Getting the Ebon Flow transformation in Black Myth: Wukong requires you to follow three steps. While it won’t take too long, it’ll require you to beat two bosses, one of which is fairly tough.
Finding and defeating Chen Loong
Before anything, you want to find Chen Loong in Chapter 3. For this, fast travel to the North Shore of the Bitter Lake fast travel location, and run parallel to the shrine. Continue across the shore until you spot Chen Loong in some shallow water.
While he does use electricity-based attacks, Chen Loong pales in comparison to most other optional bosses. You should be able to comfortably make quick work of him, especially since his attack patterns are easy to read because of his bone-related illness.
Where to get the pills from Xu Dog
After defeating Chen Loong, speak with him enough times so that he asks you to get a resurrection pill from Xu Dog. This step is extremely easy, since you just have to go to the Crouching Tiger Temple’s Cellar shrine. Speak with Xu Dog, who you’ll find making some medicine using a nearby furnace.
Speak with Xu Dog and select the “Talk” option. This will prompt him to give you the Fortifying Medicament formula and the Special-made Bone-Strengthening Pellet. Take the pellet back to Chen Loong, and he’ll use the Ruyi Scroll to send you to the Zodiac Village hidden area.
Defeating the Yin Tiger
This secret area is pretty large, but you don’t have to look too far. Just go to the western part of the village to find a blacksmith hammering a large blade. Speak with him and select the “Challenge” option to trigger a battle against him.
This battle is just like any other boss fight, though it’s a good way to get familiarized with the types of attacks you can expect when you get the transformation spell. Defeat the Yin Tiger blacksmith in combat, and he’ll give you his great iron blade, letting you use the Ebon Flow transformation spell.
How to defeat the Yin Tiger in Black Myth: Wukong
The Yin Tiger may be a force to be reckoned with, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take him down. There are a couple of tips you should utilize so that you can eventually win against him.
Don’t attack at the start, since the Yin Tiger starts with a devastating AoE slam attack
Try not to spam combos. It’s okay if you don’t hit your finisher, as long as you don’t get hit
He can teleport out of Immobilize, so don’t rely on that spell
If possible, use the Hoarfrost transformation, since the ice creates a safe damage window for you to take advantage of
Cloud Step is the best way for you to safely heal, so try not to use it for attacking purposes
Despite his difficulty, the Yin Tiger is far from impossible to beat. Of course, you can always return later if you think he’s too hard. The game’s story is much longer than most expect before they buy a Black Myth: Wukong Steam key and play the game for themselves.
Conclusion
The Ebony Flow transformation is awesome. While slow, it can definitely pack a punch to take down the strongest of enemies. It wouldn’t be a stretch to call it the best transformation in the game, even if most transformations are situational.
