EA FC 25 trailer: 5 things you missed including new stadiums, penalties and skill moves

EA Sports released the first trailer for EA FC 25 earlier this month, but did you catch everything on display?

The first rollout of new EA FC 25 features has begun, with EA Sports starting to reveal all about the new game as the EA FC 24's cycle comes to a close. With EA FC 25 confirmed to be released worldwide on September 27, 2024, EA has started to get fans excited, revealing Jude Bellingham as the official cover star, with the Englishman also starring on the EA FC 25 Ultimate Edition cover.

And, the Real Madrid midfielder is also the star of the EA FC 25 reveal trailer, with EA giving the community its first glance at what to expect in EA FC 25. There were lots of new features shown in the trailer, but you might not have caught everything.

Here are five things you might have missed in the EA FC 25 reveal trailer.

New Stadiums

During the EA FC 25 reveal trailer, we get a short glimpse at two different stadiums – a stadium built solely for the Rush game mode, and the refurbished and brand-new version of the Santiago Bernabeu, the home of Real Madrid. In one scene where Federico Valverde slide tackles Phil Foden, you can see the new Santiago Bernabeu scoreboard in the background.

This is new for EA FC 25, with the old version of the stadium available in EA FC 24. We also get a first look at the pitch used in Rush. The 5v5 game mode has a pitch that is bigger than what we saw in Volta but smaller than what we are used to in regular games, with a new stadium displayed to show off the size of the pitch.

5v5 penalties

A format that was last seen in the MLS in 1999, a new penalty situation is coming to EA FC 25. Called the '35-yard shootout' during its existence in the MLS, it's unlikely to be called this in Rush due to the size of the pitch, but this new penalty type was spotted in the trailer, where a player attempted to score a 1v1 with the goalkeeper, starting from the halfway line.

5 vs 5 penalty

In the EA FC 25 trailer, Aitana Bonmati runs through on goal to take on Gianluigi Buffon in the net, with this replacing regular penalties, but only in the Rush game mode.

New skill move

Five new skill moves are being added to EA FC 25, and one of them was on display in the reveal trailer. One minute and 27 seconds into the trailer, Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr takes on his marker by performing the heavy feint skill move. This sees the Brazilian take a large step over the ball, feinting heavily in one direction before bursting the other way.

Drone show

EA has continued to improve how the game looks visually, and as part of the new Rush mode which dominated the trailer, a pre-match drone display was shown. Dozens of drones took to the sky to make a green and blue EA Sports FC logo in the trailer, so expect to see your club's emblem displayed as part of the drone show when you take to the pitch in EA FC 25.
