It has been another action-packed week of football, and several standout performances around the world mean Team of the Week 8 is shaping up to be a cracker.
Although some weeks have been better than others when it comes to the cards on offer, Ultimate Team players have still been treated to some fantastic TOTW items during the FC 25 cycle so far, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Vini Jr, Harry Kane, and more becoming available in packs.
However, the time has come for some new names to be rewarded with upgraded cards, and we've predicted five players who could be in contention to make TOTW 8 below!
Viktor Gyokeres - Sporting CP
With four goals to his name against C.F. Estrela da Amadora, Viktor Gyokeres' place in TOTW 8 is surely all but secured. The Swedish international just can't stop scoring at the moment, so even if he doesn't somehow feature, we doubt it will be long before he does. In the summer, his name was frequently linked with Arsenal, but ultimately no transfer was made. Now that his coach has gone to Manchester United and Arsenal's poor performance has seen them drop out of the top four, will he leave Sporting CP for London in the winter?
Dominic Solanke - Tottenham Hotspur
It's been somewhat of a slow start to Dominic Solanke's Spurs career, but the striker showed exactly why they paid big money for him as he scored twice in an emphatic 4-1 win over Aston Villa. The striker produced a clever, dinked finish over Emiliano Martinez from Dejan Kulusevski’s pass to make it 2-1 after 75 minutes before slotting home from Richarlison’s cross on 79, to the delight of another packed house in N17. The double takes Dom to five goals in all competitions this season.
Dani Olmo - Barcelona
Dani Olmo made the most out of his return as a starter with Barcelona, scoring twice to lead the Catalan club to a 3-1 win over Espanyol in the city derby on Sunday in the Spanish league. Olmo scored his double in his return as a starter after hurting his right hamstring on Sept. 15 against Girona. He had come off the bench in the team’s wins against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Madrid in the Spanish league.“I was excited about coming back,” Olmo said. “I’m feeling well. It was important to keep winning.”
Giuliano Simeone - Atletico Madrid
Diego Simeone lauded his son Giuliano after his first La Liga goal helped Atletico Madrid on their way to a 2-0 victory over Las Palmas on Sunday. The 21-year-old latched on to Nahuel Molina's pass before firing the ball beyond Jasper Cillessen, with Alexander Sorloth sealing the win seven minutes from time.
But the day belonged to Simeone, who followed in his father's footsteps with his first goal for the club in only his eighth match in the Spanish top-flight. The strike came almost 20 years after his father and manager, Diego, scored his last goal for the club against Real Madrid. Though Simeone was thrilled by his son's achievement, he was keen to focus on the importance of the victory that saw them return to winning ways in the league.
