Best Hero Formation Guide for Troop Battles
For Troop Battles or almost any PvE modes, skills and synergy between Hero types is what matters most. The most important thing for Troop Battle formations is that all your troops and Heroes in a specific formation belong to the same faction. For example, if your most high-level Heroes belong to the shooter faction, make a formation centred around that faction. You want all your high-level Shooters together because of their Skill boost.
A or S-Rank Heroes will give boosts to troops that belong to the same faction. For example, an S-Rank Rider can give a damage boost or capacity boost to Rider troops. These percentage-based boosts are huge and extremely important for maximizing damage output in all your formations.
The second thing you want to focus on are the skills of your Heroes leading the formation. Their first skill that offers a damage boost should be upgraded as much as possible, because it will let you deal more damage during Rallies and other PvE events. Focus on upgrading one hero at a time to 5-Stars so that they can unlock their maximum boost possible for your troops rather than levelling up one star at a time per Hero.
Best Hero Formation Guide for Hero Battles
Hero Battles are a lot more complicated, and work with a completely different system compared to Troop Battles. With Hero Battles, the Troop Faction doesn’t matter at all. Riders, Shooters, and Fighters aren’t a thing, and instead there are two new categories that Heroes are divided into. These are called Strikers and Tankers.
Tankers are the defensive category, meaning they can take a lot more damage without dying. But, the trade-off is that they can’t attack from range and don’t do a lot of damage. On the other hand, Strikers focus entirely on attacking enemies. They can shoot at opponents from range. But, they have very low HP compared to Tankers and will die quickly if you don’t protect them.
How To Position Your Formation in Hero Battles
Dark War Survival has a 5 hero setup for formations. Two Heroes stand up front and three stand at the back. The best thing to do is to put three Strikers in the backline, with two Tankers up front to protect them and absorb damage from enemy Heroes. This is the best and only viable setup. Anything else will lead to either too little damage or too little defence.
Now, skills and everything else matter a lot less in these Hero Battles as well. The main thing that’s important is the base Attack and Defence stat for a Hero. For example, if you have two S-Rank Striker Heroes, the one with a higher Attack stat will always do more damage. It doesn’t matter if a Hero with a lower Attack stat has better equipment or Skills. The one with higher Attack will always outperform him regardless of level, equipment, or any other factors.
So, focus on levelling up your highest Attack Strikers, and highest Defence Tankers. Then, give your best Strikers the best equipment you have available for offence, while your best Takers should get the best defensive equipment. You basically want to put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to Hero Battles and focus on a specific set of 5 Heroes that you devote all upgrades to.
S-Rank Heroes like Evans, Darian, Guy, and the others have way better Attack/Defence compared to lower-rank Heroes of the same role. They also have the best Skill boosts for troops. You want as many of them as possible to maximize output in both Troop Battles and Hero Battles. But it’s not easy to get them, and certainly not easy to upgrade because S-Rank Hero pieces are rare.
