Pragmata has multiple weapons that players can use. Every weapon has a different unlock requirement that players must complete. While the number of weapons isn’t that high, it makes sense that players will want to learn which are the best. How many weapons are in Pragmata?

All Pragmata weapons

Pragmata has sixteen weapons in total. While most of these weapons can be unlocked in your first playthrough, others require you to meet certain requirements that make that impossible. For example, the Jackhammer is unlocked after completing the game once, which puts this as an endgame or new game plus weapon.

Some weapons clearly stand above the rest, while others fall flat. Pragmata’s unique combat demands that players are quick on their feet, especially when fighting certain boss enemies or robots with insane armor. We won’t get into spoiler territory for this article, but it’s still recommended to buy Pragmata from a platform such as LootBar to ensure you can experience it the right way.

Pragmata weapons tier list

This tier list ranks all of Pragmata’s weapons on a scale of S to D. S-tier weapons are the cream of the crop, while D-tier weapons leave much to be desired.

D-tier

The two weapons that fall into this category include the Homing Missile and Sticky Bombs.

Homing Missile Pragmata

Homing Missiles sound excellent on paper, but the weapon’s lock-on system takes too long for such a fast-paced weapon. When the missiles do hit, the damage just isn’t there. It’s effectively a watered-down version of what it could have been, even with upgrades. If not for the stats, this weapon deserves to be here just for the disappointment factor.

Sticky bombs Pragmata

Sticky Bombs are interesting because they don’t damage enemies too much. However, they do make hacking much easier. While this makes combat much easier, there’s the fact that most would assume that Sticky Bombs would stand out more for their damage. Since not every enemy in the game requires hacking, these bombs are more situational than expected.

C-tier

The weapons that fall into this category are the Drone Hive and Lim Cannon.

Drone Hive Pragmata

The Drone Hive lets you summon a swarm of tiny drones that chip away at enemies. While this is nice, especially since you can basically deal passive damage while staying mobile, this weapon’s usefulness isn’t really there. You’re better off using weapons that deal more damage to get the job done quicker.

Lim Cannon Pragmata

Then, there’s the Lim Cannon. This weapon uses Lunafilament as ammo to fire a powerful laser. The laser deals massive damage that can quickly take down most enemies. However, it burns through Lunafilament so fast that you won’t have any to upgrade your weapons after using it a couple of times.

B-tier

The weapons in this category are the Photon Laser, Hacking Mines, and Riot Blaster.

Photon Laser Pragmata

Found in Sector 3, the Photon Laser fires powerful beams at enemies. The damage these beams deal starts as fairly low, but it increases the longer you use this weapon. This makes the Photon Laser excellent against tanky enemies who take a bunch of hits to take down, such as bosses.

Hacking Mines Pragmata

Hacking Mines are extremely handy for those who aren’t confident in their hacking abilities. Deploying them automatically hacks any enemy that triggers them, making them situational but great against multiple enemies. Just remember that you’ll have to work a bit to get this weapon.

Riot Blaster Pragmata

The Riot Blaster is a tactical weapon that works like a grenade launcher. While the damage these grenades deal is decent, this weapon’s highlight is that enemies get knocked down upon impact, letting you take your time to hack them and expose their weak spots.

A-tier

The weapons in this category are Code Generator, Pulse Carbine, Stasis Net, and Shockwave Gun.

Code Generator Pragmata

The Code Generator turns hacking into a breeze. This utility weapon changes the hacking circuits of enemies, making all of the blocks and negative nodes disappear in the hacking minigame. While unlocking this gun can be a bit of a chore, it’s more than worth it.

Pulse Carbine Pragmata

The Pulse Carbine is an automatic rifle with an excellent fire rate. This weapon’s basic damage isn’t too high, but its highlight is that hitting enemy weak points generates heat. Generate enough heat on an enemy, and they’ll get stunned for a while.

Stasis Net Pragmata

The Stasis Net is a simple but reliable tactical weapon. You fire a net that temporarily ensnares and basically stuns enemies that touch it. While it doesn’t really deal damage or anything, it does make it easier for you to switch to a better weapon and take captured enemies down before they can escape.

Shockwave gun Pragmata

Finally, there’s the Shockwave Gun. This is the first attack weapon that you’ll find, and it remains useful throughout the game. It’s basically a shotgun that deals serious damage to close-range enemies. However, it does take some time between shots. Fortunately, it’s pretty tough to miss a shot when the enemy is standing close to you.

S-tier

The best weapons in Pragmata include the Jackhammer, Charge Piercer, Decoy Generator, Grip Gun, and Impact Barrier.

Jackhammer Pragmata

The Jackhammer is acquired after finishing the weapon once, but it stands out for being the only real melee weapon in Pragmata. You deal a strong blow to enemies, before following up with a second blow if you press the button at the right time. While you have to get up close and personal to use this, the sheer damage it does more than makes up for that risk.

Charge Piercer Pragmata

You have to hold down the fire button to use Pragmata’s Charge Piercer. This weapon falls into the S-tier because of the insane damage you can deal if you charge it all the way. It’s enough to destroy some machines in one shot.

Decoy Generator Pragmata

Pragmata is an extremely fast-paced game, which is why the Decoy Generator is so handy. You can use it to create a decoy of yourself that either lures enemies to recyclers or just lets you catch a quick breath before damaging the enemy with a powerful shot.

Grip Gun Pragmata

The Grip Gun is Pragmata’s starting weapon, with strong shots but a slow fire rate. While it’s initially just fine, you can upgrade this gun over time. Of course, it helps that you don’t have to look for the Grip Gun’s ammo, since it automatically recharges over time.

Impact Barrier Pragmata

Finally, the last weapon on this list is the Impact Barrier. This utility weapon instantly creates a shield that prevents melee attacks and projectiles for a short time. This defense unit is basically a portable cover generator, which is awesome when faced against multiple enemies. As you’ll realize after you buy a Pragmata Steam key and play the game for yourself, combat is rarely 1v1.

Conclusion

You won’t find any shortage of flexibility in Pragmata’s weapon list. Whether you want to get up close and personal or fire from afar, this game has multiple weapons that you can use however you want.
