How to access Verso’s Drafts in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?

Traversing in Expedition 33 Verso’s Drafts

Players can access Verso’s Drafts in Act III through a portal next to Lumiere on the water to the east, near an area filled with candy and toys. Of course, some spoilers may be involved here, so those who haven’t played the game yet should definitely utilize LootBar’s services and change that.

It’s important to have Esquie’s Underwater ability, which players can get after reaching relationship level 6 with Esquie and defeating Francois again in Camp. Locate the portal by the Lumiere area, dive using Esquie’s ability, and step through to appear in Verso’s Drafts main area.

Inside the DLC, players will find six Expedition Flags and one sub-zone, Root of All Evil, which has the final boss.

Fighting a boss in Expedition 33 Verso’s Drafts

Here are all the bosses that players can fight in Verso’s Drafts:

  • Chromatic Barbasucette: Lurks near the Reverie Path Flag.

  • Chromatic Licorne: At the top of the playground obstacle course.

  • Chromatic Machinepieds: Located in the Candy Land theme park.

  • Chromatic Franctale: Waiting near a grappling point west of Reverie Path

  • Mine: High HP encounter in Candy Land.

  • Romanifo (Half-Baked Gesteral): Found to the left of the Gingerbread Door near the Reverie Path flag.

  • Licornapieds: Accessed after opening the Gingerbread Door and riding the train to Licornapieds Station.

  • Mosquito (Root of All Evil): Located in the Root of All Evil subarea.

The Endless Tower has two new bosses. The first is Simon the Divergent Star, and the other is Clea Unleashed. Simon is considered one of the toughest bosses in the game, so it’s recommended to ensure you’re prepared before starting the fight. After all, we don’t want you sinking a bunch of time into the fight only to be forced to repeat everything upon losing.

How to beat the bosses in Verso’s Drafts

While Verso’s Draft features some extremely tough bosses, the good news is that most of them can be beaten by following the same general strategy as any other boss. The sole exception is Simon, whom you’ll likely have to learn through trial and error.

General preparation

It’s recommended to have high-level gear when going through Verso’s Drafts. Having level 20 weapons at a minimum is a good idea for faster runs. Upgrade weapons whenever possible and collect Colors of Lumina and Grandiose Chroma Catalysts to improve equipment before fighting bosses.

Strategies and mechanics

  • Memorize enemy attack patterns. Many chromatic foes and minibosses cycle through the same combos, so it becomes easy to dodge and parry.

  • Be careful of a debuff that can cap damage to 1 per hit for many turns. It makes pattern recognition and the wary use of status removal or mitigation essential. Maelle can struggle to clear this debuff.

  • Use elemental cycles and combo windows. Elemental Overload or Follow Up cycles from Lune and Verso are excellent to push through large chunks of health of chromatic bosses, and to amplify damage when they’re vulnerable.

  • For long HP fights like Mime and Osquio, players must be patient and consistently use counters, debuffs, and party synergies matter more than burst. Maelle’s Defenceluss plus Lune/Verso follow-up cycles are an excellent mix of abilities for sustained DPS.

For balloon and unique fights, like the Romanifo miniboss, players should target environmental elements, such as balloons, to expose their weaknesses. For arena bosses like the Chromatic Licorne or Barbasucette, it’s essential to focus on defensive counters and exploitation of openings for high-damage follow-ups.

Conclusion

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s Verso’s Drafts update added even more content to a game that many already consider perfect. It’s unknown if the developer will add anything new or if players should expect a new game. But those who want a complete save file in case another surprise update drops will want to buy an Expedition 33 Steam key to prepare.
