Schedule
Chaos Zero Nightmare Season 3 officially launched on April 29, 2026, alongside the Arise update and the half-anniversary event. Based on the update cycle of previous seasons, Season 3 is expected to continue until early July 2026. Below is the predicted banner schedule based on the official livestream preview.
Phase | Rescue Period | Characters | Partner |
Phase I | 04/29/2026 – 05/27/2026 | Heidemarie | Sylvia |
Phase II | 05/27/2026 – TBD | Adelheid | TBD |
Phase III | TBD | Tenebria | TBD |
New Characters
Heidemarie
The biggest highlight of Season 3 is Heidemarie, a limited 5-star Ranger from the Terrascion faction. She is also the main featured character of the season and introduces the new “Linked” combat mechanic, which allows players to create powerful combo chains and explosive burst turns.
Heidemarie also has very strong synergy with Diana, the final character released during Season 2. Because both characters benefit from discard-focused gameplay, Diana can help Heidemarie build much smoother combo rotations. If you plan to invest heavily into Heidemarie, having Diana on your account is highly recommended. Here is how Heidemarie’s Linked mechanic works:
- When you manually play a Linked card, all other Linked cards in your hand are discarded.
- If the discarded cards have the Quietus tag, they activate automatically for free.
- This allows you to trigger multiple powerful effects without consuming extra AP.
At first, her gameplay may feel complicated compared to older characters. However, once you understand the combo timing and card order, she becomes one of the strongest burst DPS characters currently available in Season 3.
Heidemarie Combo Tip
When playing Heidemarie, always start your combo with a Linked card that does NOT have Quietus.
For example, opening with a normal Linked card like Effulgent Blade allows your Quietus cards to activate automatically after being discarded. This saves AP and significantly increases your damage output.
If you manually use Quietus cards first, you lose a large part of her combo potential.
Adelheid & Tenebria
At the moment, there is still very limited official information about Adelheid, Tenebria, and their partners. Based on the livestream preview, both characters are expected to appear during the later phases of Season 3. However, their skills, factions, and detailed mechanics have not been fully revealed yet. Once the developers release more official information, we will update this guide immediately.
New Partner: Sylvia
Sylvia is the signature partner of Heidemarie and one of the most important support units introduced in Season 3. She perfectly complements Heidemarie’s aggressive combo-based playstyle by increasing attack power and boosting critical damage whenever Linked cards are used or discarded. Together, Heidemarie and Sylvia create:
- Faster combo rotations
- Higher burst damage
- More efficient AP usage
- Stronger late-turn scaling
If you plan to build Heidemarie as your main DPS, Sylvia is one of the best partners you can pull for.
New Updates
Arise Update
The Arise update is the core system overhaul of Season 3. It introduces several new gameplay systems designed to reduce repetitive grinding while making Chaos runs more strategic and rewarding. The biggest additions include:
- Sortie Mode
- Persona Cards
- Lux & Umbra Engravings
- Battle Skip Mode
- Great Rift adjustments
- Full release of Spiral Tower of Screams
These changes make the overall gameplay experience much smoother compared to previous seasons.
Sortie Mode
Sortie Mode is a new roguelike challenge mode where save data no longer carries over during a run. Unlike traditional Chaos mode, every run starts fresh, forcing you to adapt your strategy based on random routes, rewards, and party compositions.
This mode focuses much more on decision-making and flexible team building.
Persona Cards
Persona Cards are another major addition in Season 3. During Chaos runs, characters can obtain special Persona Cards that improve their individual playstyles. Each character can equip one Persona Card, allowing for more flexible builds and stronger character synergies.
Different characters benefit from different types of Persona effects. Heidemarie works especially well with discard-related bonuses, while Diana performs better with damage amplification cards. Support characters can also use utility-focused bonuses to improve team consistency and survivability. This system greatly increases build diversity and gives players more freedom when building teams.
Lux & Umbra Engravings
Persona Cards and gear can now be enhanced with Lux and Umbra engravings.
These engravings provide strong passive bonuses such as:
- Increased attack card damage
- Better Quietus scaling
- Additional class-based effects
At higher difficulties, engravings become one of the most important progression systems in the game.
Best Farming Strategy in Season 3
Season 3 progression becomes much smoother if you focus on efficient farming instead of pushing the highest difficulty immediately.
Farm Difficulty 8 First
For most players, Difficulty 8 is currently the best farming stage in Chaos Mode. It offers a good balance between clear speed and reward efficiency, making it the ideal choice for long farming sessions. There are several reasons why Difficulty 8 is recommended:
- Runs are much faster and more stable
- Rewards remain highly efficient for progression
- It is easier to reach Tier 15 save data consistently
- Farming becomes less exhausting over time
After reaching Tier 15, you can move into Nightmare difficulty for Tier 16 progression and higher-end optimization.
Many players try to challenge very high difficulties too early, but this usually slows progression and reduces overall farming efficiency. Building stable save data first is the better long-term strategy.
Upgrade Environment Variables First
Before you start seriously farming Persona Cards, it is highly recommended to spend the 2000 credits needed to fully upgrade your environment variables. This is one of the most important preparation steps for efficient progression in Season 3.
The final upgrades unlock multiple rerolls for card rewards, engravings, and build options. These rerolls greatly improve your chances of getting stronger combinations and optimized engravings, making your farming runs much more consistent in the long run.
Focus Persona Cards on Your Main DPS
One common mistake in Season 3 is giving Persona Cards to every team member too early. Instead, you should prioritize your main DPS first and focus most of your Persona Cards and engraving rolls on that character. Since engravings are class-specific, spreading resources across multiple units will dilute the engraving pool and make it much harder to obtain the ideal buffs for your carry. Concentrating your investment on one core damage dealer is a much more efficient strategy for progression.
Half-Anniversary Rewards
Season 3 also celebrates the game’s half-anniversary, and the rewards are surprisingly generous.
You can receive:
- 5-star Combatant Selection Tickets
- 5-star Partner Selection Tickets
These selectors include almost the entire roster, giving newer players a huge opportunity to strengthen their accounts. However, recently released limited characters such as Heidemarie and Sereniel are excluded, alongside Diana.
If you have been waiting to complete an important team core, this is one of the best times to start building your roster.
