Call of Duty Mobile has slowly emerged as one of the most popular battle royale games. Backed by the huge Call of Duty label, it is almost exactly like its console counterpart but various things like graphics have been toned down for mobile optimization.
As it celebrates its 5th year anniversary, Activision has revealed a brand-new map coming to Call of Duty Mobile on November 6, 2024, called Krai. However, for seasonal players who have previously played Black Ops Cold War, it will be a very familiar experience.
The ‘Krai’ Map
Coming as a new battle royale map to CoD Mobile, Krai is inspired by an original map that would’ve been included with Black Ops 6, but was shelved during development. Krai is a combination of older Call of Duty points of interest, combined with new ones.
The unique thing about this map is the number of different environments and terrains that it offers. These terrains include forests, rugged cities, industries, mountains, and more making it quite diverse from any other older maps.
Notable Points of Interest
Veteran Call of Duty players will be glad to know that the map features some distinguishable and new POIs like:
- Zoo: Zoo was a part of the original Ural Mountains map concept that was shelved back in the day. Due to its various hiding spots and target spots, it can help with a very tactical style of play.
- Industrial Park: The Industrial Park will be an ideal location to drop off and gather as many supplies as possible. The rugged buildings combined with the machinery from the industries will provide a very challenging and fun experience.
- Sanatorium: Sanatorium is another notable location from the Cold War. The building offers multiple entry points and various strategic points, allowing for excellent gunplay.
- The Radio Tower: This is a new POI that can be found in the central area of the map. It will be a high-loot area and will especially be great for sniping because of its height. It is a high-risk area, but the reward will be bigger.
- Frozen Harbor: Another new POI, Frozen Harbor is a beautifully designed area located by the coast. It features frozen ships, docks and buildings with tight corridors making close encounters really challenging.
Multiple Biomes and Terrains
The best thing about the Krai map is how diverse it is. Here are some of the most notable terrains that it includes:
- Dense Forests: The forests in Krai are dense and offer a lot of foliage. This makes it a very tough map in case enemies could be hiding at any spot. So, you better watch out for your step!
- Snowy Mountains: The tricky part about the mountains is that it has dense snow and low visibility, making it an added challenge to navigate through this biome.
- Industrial Areas: As we talked about it before, Krai brings back the industrial park. It is full of tactical opportunities that you can utilize with your team to take down your opponents.
- Swamps and Vegetation: Navigating your way through the swamps won’t be an easy task because you will be restricted to slow movement. So, dodging enemy fires and escaping tricky scenarios would be a difficult task in this terrain.
The Krai Map Gameplay
Krai will offer a very dynamic gameplay because of how diverse it is. This will make it quite different from the traditional maps that most people are used to. Because there are a bunch of POIs specially designed with gunplay in mind, the battles will be more intense than ever. You can expect a lot more encounters, and your best way to emerge victorious will be to follow some sort of tactics.
For context, POIs like the Industrial Park might bring in a lot more players because of the high loot chances. However, that will also lead to higher chances of you getting eliminated early in the game. Similarly, for other areas, you’ll need to strategize and use your weapons effectively to make the most of the new POIs. Here are some new additions to the map that can help enhance your gameplay experience:
- Zip Lines: Zip lines are situated throughout the map. They can help you move between high and low ground quite easily making mobility easier than ever.
- Snowmobiles: Your movement in slow will be restricted, so snowmobiles will be great for those terrains. They can help you escape tight areas or get the upper hand on your opponents.
- New Weapons: The Krai map will also bring in a bunch of new weapons. These include crossbows that can be used to take down enemies silently, Flame Throwers for increased damage in tight spaces, and tactical barriers that will act like shields.
Highly Positive Reception
While the Krai map isn’t available to the general public as of yet, streamers and reviewers have already gotten its early access. The previews are really positive with all of them praising the diversity and versatility that the map offers.
Of course, the new update will also bring in a lot of new stuff in the store as well including new skins and more. For the best deals and seamless transactions, make sure to visit LootBar for your CODM top-up needs.
Concluding Remarks
Krai is set to take your Call of Duty experience to a whole new level. The map will be highly familiar for older players but will feel fresh at the same time. With some really fun locations and beautiful terrains, the game has never been better.
Just know that the map will test your skill set. Make sure to strategize and jump into Krai with all your preparation as it won’t be easily forgiving. Nonetheless, it is a great addition to the game, and will certainly turn out to be a fan favourite.
