Brawl Stars S28 update: 24+ Balances, new brawlers, modes and Mega Boxes Return!

The new Brawl Talk for Brawl Stars is here, kicking off Season 28 with a bang! We're introducing two fresh faces to the brawl, Berry and Clancy, along with a mix of new and returning game modes. The Mega Boxes are back, promising a treasure trove of surprises. This season is also electrifying with a brand-new Hypercharge skin and a suite of seven fresh hypercharge abilities. Plus, we've given a few brawlers a makeover and even tweaked Brock's base model for a fresh look. Let's dive into the June 2024 Brawl Talk to see what's in store.

In the latest Brawl Stars update video, we delve into the recent balance tweaks that are shaking things up. With over 24 balance changes on the table, ranging from buffs to nerfs and reworks, we're shaking the meta to its core. We're also ranking the 7 new hypercharges that are set to redefine the battleground. Some brawlers are emerging stronger, while others are getting the fine-tuning they need to hit that sweet spot of balance. Let's break down the changes and see how they'll reshape the brawling landscape. Let’s know more details in our article!

24+ Balances

1. Lily’s Nerf and Buff

Lily's super attack has taken a slight hit, with its damage now dropping from 2,000 to 1,000. However, she compensates with an extra ammo slot, enhancing her ammo capacity. This adjustment positions her as a promising contender for the S-tier ranking, thanks to her boosted damage output and swift reload times.

2. Janet’s Buff

Janet has been granted a modest boost to her primary attack's damage, now edging up from 1,960 to 2,000. Although it might appear to be a minor tweak, such incremental improvements can have a substantial ripple effect on a brawler's performance within the competitive scene.

3. Brock Enhancements

Brock is set to soar with two significant enhancements to his hypercharge rocket capabilities. His rocket damage has been amplified from 500 to 750 per rocket, significantly beefing up his hypercharge's punch. Additionally, the enhanced spread capability ensures that he can now inflict damage on a broader range of adversaries, elevating his overall combat prowess.

4. Maisy Upgrades

Maisy gets a nifty upgrade to her super charge rate, which streamlines the process of recharging her super ability. Previously, she required two successful super hits followed by two additional hits to recharge. The new tweak allows her to achieve a recharge with just two super hits and one more hit. Although this alteration might not revolutionize her gameplay, it does inject a bit more potency into her meta presence.

7 new Hypercharges

The new Brawl Talk also mentioned the addition of seven new Hypercharges coming to Brawl Stars in S28.

Barley – Throws three big bottles that destroy any Bushes in the area
Frank – Super now covers an extremely wide circle around him. Think of Jacky's attack… but much, much bigger
Angelo – Super now follows him wherever he goes
Piper – Spawns more bomb when starting her super and knocks back enemies when she lands
EMZ – Knocks back all brawlers with her Super and can follow up with a targeted spray
Rico – Super projectiles bounce even further
Gale – Wider Super range and now shoots twice

The Return of Mega Boxes to the game thanks to the upcoming Classic Event

The June 2024 edition of Brawl Stars Brawl Talk has some great news for fans: Mega Boxes are making a comeback, all thanks to the eagerly anticipated Classic Event. Gather 10 of these Mega Boxes, and you'll unlock the exclusive Sovereign Rico Hypercharge Skin. Here's how you can score a Mega Box during the Brawl Stars Classic event:

Kick off your gaming day with a victory to secure your first Star Token.
Keep an eye out for the Star Token icon, active in certain game modes (found at the bottom right of the Game Mode tile), and play those modes to earn more tokens.
Tackle the Weekly Special Quest for a chance to add Star Tokens to your collection.
Rise to the Mega Box Challenge by achieving 15 wins in a row to unlock a Mega Box.

With these strategies, you'll be well on your way to collecting Mega Boxes and claiming that Sovereign Rico Hypercharge Skin. Happy brawling!

Brawl Boxes, the forerunners to Starr Drops, used to be the go-to for a surprise loot haul, where your odds of nabbing a fresh brawler steadily climbed with each box you cracked open. These days, Starr Drops keep it consistent, offering a steady, fixed shot at a new fighter. And while Starr Drops might be stingy with just a single item, Brawl Boxes were the generous type, handing out multiple goodies at once. Let's not kid ourselves, the sentiment around loot boxes is mixed, but remember, Starr Drops are just the new face of the same game.

With the Mega Boxes back in the ring, two nostalgic Brawl Stars Modes are making a grand return for the Brawl Stars Classic Event. Mirror Match and Drum Roll are here to bring back the old school brawling fun. In these throwback modes, brawlers are limited to level 9, wielding only their first Star Power, with no Hypercharges or Gadgets to even the odds. Here's the breakdown:

Mirror Match: It's a brawlers' mirror image party—every player takes on the same brawler (sticking to the original 21 brawlers).
Drum Roll: Knock out a brawler and you morph into another. It's all about the numbers game—defeat enough brawlers to secure the win.

And the fun doesn't stop there. Brawl Stars is gearing up to splash onto the scene with a new mode called Paint Brawl. Victory in this mode is all about territory—drenching the map in more paint than the opposing team. You can either dribble the paint-ball around, leaving a colorful trail, or get aggressive and splash some paint by defeating enemy brawlers. It's a paint fight with a competitive edge!

New Brawlers: Berry & Clancy

Finally, 2 new brawlers are coming to Brawl Stars in S28!

Brawl Stars welcomes Berry, an Epic Brawler and a magical unicorn from Mandy's crew. His signature move is an ice cream throw that damages foes and heals allies over time. Berry's Super is a whirlwind attack that not only deals hefty damage but also leaves a trail of ice cream for extra impact. Uniquely, Berry can supercharge by healing allies—a first in the game, shaking up the meta.

Clancy, the new Mythic Brawler, is set to debut this Summer. This versatile soldier can evolve in battle, much like Surge, with each upgrade enhancing his Super. Here's the progression:

Stage I: Single-shot attack, Super unleashes a narrow bullet spray.
Stage II: Rapid dual-shot, Super expands to a broader area.
Stage III: Fires dual projectiles in opposite directions, increasing hit chances, with Super boosting his speed.

These are the highlights of Berry and Clancy, the latest additions to the Brawl Stars roster, with existing brawlers also seeing updates.
