What Are Buffies?

Before diving in, a quick explanation for anyone new to the system. Buffies are permanent power-ups that were introduced in December 2025, it enhances a Brawler's Gadgets, Star Powers, and Hypercharge. They don't add new abilities instead, they extend or strengthen existing ones. Each Brawler has three Buffies tied to their kit, and all Hyper Buffies also add two extra seconds to Hypercharge duration on top of their listed effect. Buffies are unlocked through the Claw Machine using Coins and Power Points, purchased directly with Gems, or obtained through Ultra Chaos Drops.

Rico

Gadget Buffie

Rico Gadget Buffie

  • Gadget 1 - Multiball Launcher

Rico deploys a vending machine with 2,000 HP. When destroyed, it fires projectiles in all directions. Shooting the vending machine with Rico's main attack loads it up with extra projectiles.

  • Gadget 2 - Bouncy Castle

Rico fires a giant gumball that splits into smaller bullets when it hits a wall or enemy. Bullets also slow enemy Brawlers on hit.

Bouncy Castle Buffie is the better pick, because slowing enemies on bullets gives Rico crowd control and also extra damage.

Star Buffie

Rico Star Buffie

  • Star Power 1 - Super Bouncy

Bullets from Rico's Main Attack and Super deal +120 damage after their first bounce. Bounced bullets will give 10% Super charge on hit.

  • Star Power 2 - Robo Retreat

Rico moves 35% faster when his health drops below 40%. Movement speed scales up to 60% at 10% HP.

Super Bouncy Buffie is the best pick here, since generating Super charge off bounced bullets lets Rico chain Supers more often rather than the Robo Retreat which is for retreating.

Hyper Buffie

Rico Hyper Buffie

  • Hypercharge - Trick Shot King

Rico's Super projectiles bounce even further. The Hypercharge duration and Bullet speed is increased and his main attack fires additional bullets.

Brock

Gadget Buffie

Brock Gadget Buffie

  • Gadget 1 - Rocket Laces

Brock rocket jumps, knocking back and dealing damage on takeoff and landing. Hitting an enemy Brawler with Rocket Laces grants a +2 second movement speed boost.

  • Gadget 2 - Rocket Fuel

Brock fires a large rocket that destroys terrain and deals damage. The mega rocket splits into 4 smaller rockets dealing 75% damage each.

Rocket Laces Buffie is better pick here, since the speed boost on hit gives Brock a way to reposition after the rocket jump.

Star Buffie

Brock Star Buffie

  • Star Power 1 - More Rockets

Adds an extra 44% of rockets. Brock gains a 30% speed boost while firing his Super.

  • Star Power 2 - Rocket No.4

Increases Brock's ammo capacity. Every 6 seconds, Brock's next attack gains increased range.

Rocket No. 4 Buffie is the pick here since the range boost triggering every 6 seconds gives more consistent value than More Rockets' one-time speed boost during Super.

Hyper Buffie

Brock Hyper Buffie

  • Hypercharge - Rocket Barrage

Rockets fired during the Super become cluster bombs. Each rocket gains two smaller side rockets dealing 60% damage of the main rocket.

8-Bit

Gadget Buffie

8Bit Gadget Buffie

  • Gadget 1 - Cheat Cartridge

8-Bit teleports to his Damage Booster. Fully heals the Damage Booster on arrival and heals 8-Bit for 3,600 HP.

  • Gadget 2 - Extra Credits

8-Bit fires 18 projectiles, now usable mid-main attack and fully aimable. Projectiles also bounce to nearby enemies.

Cheat Cartridge Buffie is the good pick here, since fully healing the Booster plus a big self-heal keeps 8-Bit's survivability longer than Extra Credits' bounce effect.

Star Buffie

8Bit Star Buffie

  • Star Power 1 - Boosted Booster

Increases the Damage Booster's range by 50% and damage by an additional 15%. Every 5 seconds, the Damage Booster spawns ammo lasting 8 seconds and reloading 1 ammo.

  • Star Power 2 - Plugged In

8-Bit gains a 25% speed boost while near the Damage Booster. Teammates inside the Damage Booster's range also get a 15% speed boost.

Plugged In Buffie is the better choice, since extending the speed boost to teammates turns it into a team support utility.

Hyper Buffie

8Bit Hyper Buffie

  • Hypercharge - Aimbot

8-Bit's turret sprouts a laser that shoots nearby enemies for 230 damage. Buffied: 8-Bit gains infinite ammo during Hypercharge and can interrupt his main attack by firing a new one.

Meg

Gadget Buffie

Meg Gadget Buffie

  • Gadget 1 - Jolting Volts

Heals the Mecha by 259 HP per second for 5s, and usable only in Mecha form. Healing duration extended by 1 second.

  • Gadget 2 - Tool Box

Meg ejects from the Mecha, launching it forward to deal 800 damage and Meg recharges her Super over 6 seconds. The Mecha's dash leaves a fire trail dealing 30% of the damage for 3 seconds.

Tool Box Buffie is the stronger choice, since the fire trail turns her Mecha dash into a zone-denial tool.

Star Buffie

Meg Star Buffie

  • Star Power 1 - Force Field

Meg gains a 40% shield for 5s when the Mecha is destroyed. Meg also gets a 20% speed boost while the shield is active.

  • Star Power 2 - Heavy Metal

The Mecha recovers 600 health for each enemy hit by Meg's Super. Also steals 1 ammo from each enemy Brawler hit.

Heavy Metal is the better Buffie, since stealing ammo from every enemy hit by her Super is good.

Hyper Buffie

Meg Hyper Buffie

  • Hypercharge - Tungsten Toughness

Feel the Steel has increased range, and enemies hit when Meg calls in her Mecha are slowed. The Mecha's attacks explode on hit, dealing damage in a small area. While out of the Mecha, Meg's attacks fire an extra projectile that homes in on enemies.

Max

Gadget Buffie

Max Gadget Buffie

  • Gadget 1 - Phase Shifter

Max dashes forward and becomes immune to damage during the dash. Max can dash again 3 seconds after the first dash.

  • Gadget 2 - Sneaky Sneakers

Max throws a lightning bolt. Reactivating the Gadget or after 3 seconds blinks her back to it, recovering any damage taken since it was placed. When blinking back, Max refills her ammo and heals nearby allies for the same amount she recovers.

Sneaky Sneakers Buffie is the stronger choice, since refilling ammo and healing allies on blinking back gives it real team value.

Star Buffie

Max Star Buffie

  • Star Power 1 - Super Charged

Hitting an enemy with her Main Attack extends her Super's duration by 0.25 seconds. Teammates affected by Max's Super gain a shield for 4 seconds.

  • Star Power 2 - Run N Gun

Max reloads faster while moving. Hitting enemies with her Main Attack also grants a speed boost.

Super Charged is the better Buffie, since giving her whole team a shield during her Super is a much bigger team-fight utility.

Hyper Buffie

Max Hyper Buffie

  • Hypercharge - Unlimited Energy

Max throws an energy drink to each ally increasing their speed and grants them 25% Super charge. Grants both Max's and nearby allies' 7% Super charge when hitting enemies.

Surge

Gadget Buffie

Surge Gadget Buffie

  • Gadget 1 - Power Surge

Surge's power surges, increasing his Super charge rate by 30% for 5 seconds. Also increases reload speed by 30% during that window.

  • Gadget 2 - Power Shield

Within 2 seconds, Surge absorbs 50% of the next hit's damage and converts it into 2 ammo. If Surge is hit during Power Shield, reduce its cooldown by 50%.

Power Surge Buffie is the better choice, since stacking reload speed with Super charge rate helps Surge reach his higher stages faster.

Star Buffie

Surge Star Buffie

  • Star Power 1 - To the Max!

Surge's main attack now bounces off walls. When bouncing off walls, it creates 2 smaller projectiles.

  • Star Power 2 - Serve Ice Cold

Surge always spawns with his Super ready. Buffied: While in Stage 3, grants a speed boost when using his Super.

Serve Ice Cold is the better choice, since the speed boost gives repositioning while atttacking.

Hyper Buffie

Surge Hyper Buffie

  • Hypercharge - Stage 5

Surge's Super gains increased range and shoots Justice Juice in every direction when landing. Buffied: Justice Juice fires a second projectile dealing less damage.

Conclusion

Season 52 adds Buffies for six Brawlers in a single update, making it one of the bigger Buffie drops since the system launched. Rico and Meg both received significant Gadget reworks alongside their Buffies, while Brock, 8-Bit, Max, and Surge get enhancements that sharpen their existing strengths.
